Eve:

When I was eleven years old, my dad died in a car accident and so was my only brother. Apparently, my mother was only one to come alive. That was what I had been thinking for past couple of years. She could never get herself out of that nightmare.

When my mom was in the coma for five years. I was raised by my late grandparents from my mother's side until my mom woke up and took my custody back. Well, that was also what I thought. I had to be the responsible person around the house. She went into a depression right after. I was seventeen years old when I started taking care of the house bills and stuff. Money that we got from the accident didn't even last longer and I couldn't afford everything. Soon, my mom was diagnosed with a lung cancer. We didn't have health insurance and money I was earning from my jobs barely paid anything. To find affordable medication and doctors, we had to move somewhere, and Wisconsin seemed to be the best option at the time.

Even it was nothing like Manhattan, New York. Wisconsin was small and less crowded. Everything was affordable. I was able to take two jobs at a time. My mom was slowly being treated for cancer, and I was living a life of hell. Barely eating. Barely smiling. Barely sleeping.

I arrived a few minutes before my work was scheduled for the morning shifts. Luckily, my manager was away at the time. I was sure my day would be worse if she had caught me clocking a few minutes late that she wouldn't expect us to do under any circumstances. We were supposed to clock in ten minutes prior to work starts. Unfortunately, that ten minutes of my precious time was taken by some high-profile billionaire.

I dumped everything in the locker. Then, I quickly changed into cafe's uniform or just the top, white shirt that has cafe's logo and green plain cap. We were allowed to wear any pants, except sweatpants and trousers. I liked the idea of wearing a uniform at work. Especially, the cap. It hides my face from people, who makes judgmental comments about appearance rather than how good services we were providing to them.

I worked in one of the famous cafes shops in the downtown. We always have office workers coming for extra caffeine and sweets. Honestly, I hated the fact that caffeine makes you active and wake. I was definitely not the person, who would depend on other things to get the job done. But, I needed something to help me through with my difficulties. It didn't matter however it was done as long as, I had the opportunity to win the prize.

Customers had filled the front desk as I walked in. We opened 24 hours a day and seven days a week. They have many branches over the United States, but this location seems to get busy especially during summer and mid-winter.

As I started taking over the last register, most of my co-workers seemed to be pissed while servicing morning customers, who usually come for donuts and hot coffee.

"Having a bad day?" I asked one of my favorite coworkers, who was mischievously standing next to me. Her name is Sophie, originally from Mexico and she usually started her shift two hours earlier than me.

"Don't ask." she showed me her exhausted expression that she could master in a short time.

"As always." I teased her. Then, I started serving next customers in the line.

As expected, the day wasn't getting any better. The smelled of coffee were already making me awake. Honestly, I did think the smell of coffee was actually better than how it tastes. I couldn't take the bitterness. Every time I would want to drink coffee, I would add a half cup of milk and more than ten packets of sweetness.

"Have you seen the news lately?" Sophia asked me, interrupting my thoughts. We were cleaning up the floor since we didn't have any customers at the moment. And the floor always needed extra cleaning and mopping.

I gave her an unknown look instead. I have no idea of what she was talking about. I know there was a big inch tv in front of us for customers entertainment and workers were also allowed to watch if there wasn't anything else to do.

"I would rather clean the bathroom than watch news that will straightly send me into sleeping mode." I mocked, who was also true in a way.

"Okay. I will tell you anyway. Guess what? Who is in the town?" she looked extremely excited.

"I guess, Mr. President." I teased her. Assuming that she wouldn't get this excited if Mr. President had made his appearance in the town. I was sure to assume it must be related to either her favorite actors or models, which I have no interest of.

"Seriously!" she glared at me. "Never mind." She continued talking after she was done glaring at me with her eye wide open, "It's Dylan Pearson. One of the billionaires and a most handsome bachelor and famous model."

"Who?" I still gave her unknown look since I have no idea who this person might be and how should I know about the billionaire, who happened to crash into not so popular metropolitan city. It was not like I would gain anything from knowing random people. Right? But not knowing them happened to benefit me a lot.

"You need to get a life girl. Don't tell me, you don't know the number one billionaire. I mean come on girl. Everyone knows him. Especially, women like us. They instantly fall for his charm." She said using her animated tones.

"Oh yeah." I didn't have any other words to make this conversation last little longer.

"Duh, he is just amazingly sexy. Haven't you seen his interviews? He never talks about his love life. If I were pretty and rich. I would steal him away from every bitch out there." she pulled that serious expression on her face.

Man, she adored him.

Still, I wouldn't give a crap about anyone. It was better if you know fewer people in your life. That could actually be one way to keep your secrets a secret. Besides, who cared about billionaire. It was not like I would ever be one of them.

"Oh yeah." I would desperately want to end this conversation now. I hate when she went crazy about the guy that she claimed to be handsome and adored by every woman.

"Duh, let me show you his pictures. He is Instagram famous and many other social networking sites. I bet you have no idea what I'm talking about." Obviously.

Then, she went on her phone. I tried to look away and do some cleaning before anyone would make an entrance.
