46 Spark

The divine punishment ceased to strike the giant after ten minutes of continuously striking it, the sky had returned to normal like there was no zombies attack or rain of thunder.

At the center of this strike, Sol was left laying down naked, his only saving grace was his scale set of armor, and white coat was not destroyed so his body was not all visible.

Sol could feel his body brimming with strength, if he was asked to fight an heir once more then he was sure that he could put up a fight even without his scale armor.

"Wow! I become stronger!" He mused in wonder, he somehow could sense his body strength, it was not worse than Miya's body or even Moon's body.

Sol suddenly felt danger from his back, he moved with lightning-fast reflex and dodge the attack coming from his back and catch it.

It was a bloodied blue snake, it had lunged at his throat from behind, he had caught it by the neck but it wrapped its body around his arm and neck, strangling him.

Sol needed to use his free arm to stop the snake's body from snapping his neck while his other arm gripping on its neck so it could not bite him in the face.

"Fuck! The vow had been nulled when I attract divine punishment!" Sol cursed in his heart. He pulled at the snake trying to free himself.

Their condition was very familiar to them, Nerodia was in a bloodied and weakened state while Sol at better condition, they were in a deadlock, no one could overpower the other.

"Fuck! Nerodia! Stop!" Sol screamed at the snake, trying to reason with it.

"Hsss... Stop my Fucking ass!! You backstabbing human!" It hissed at him, "You human, made snakes as a symbol of betrayal but the truth is you human are the symbol of betrayal!" It fumed at him while trying to bite his face.

"No! I didn't try to kill you, it was the only way to kill that thing and in fact, I saved you there!" He tried to explain it in a hurry.

"As if I will believe you! If I let you go then you will try to kill me again while I'm weakened!" It kept snapping at his head.

"No! No! No! I'm being truthful here! Let's make another vow as proof that I won't try to kill you!" He proposed at the snake.

"Let me start first this time, I, Sol Vestitor, swear in the name of Jupiter the King of Gods. I will not threaten this creature's life or well being as long as it doesn't threaten mine." He vowed while trying to stop the snake from biting on his face.

"Hiss... What stops you from breaking your vow once more?" It eyed at him suspiciously.

"I don't have any extra giant evil spirit as a shield! I would die if I break my vow!" He tried his best to convince the snake.

"Fine," the snake compromised because its body was really on a brink of collapse, it was so beaten up by the evil spirit and it also took the burnt of the divine punishment.

"I, Nerodia the bloodline of great the basilisk, swear in the name of Jupiter, the King of Gods. I will not threaten this human's life or well being as long as he doesn't threaten mine." It vowed.

After Both of them Vowed, there was a thunderstrike near them as a sign that their vow was witnessed by God.

The snake let him go and started to take its place on His left arm and then it slept, it needed to rest so it could recover from all of its injuries.

Sol was also tired, his body had become stronger but his exhaustion was not gone, he decided to rest for a bit.

He sat and leaned his back on a rock than he closed his eyes for a quick nap, when he waked up, he found himself in an unfamiliar tent.

He looked around to find Moon on his side, "Moon, where is this? How come I'm here?" he asked the wolf.

"Camp of Minerva, You sleep for a week." She replied to him, this was the first time he heard her talk, usually, it stays silent so he didn't know that it could already talk in human language.

After asking around he found out that a day after his fight, the survivor started to send people to the city, they found him there and brought him back to the camp.

In total, almost half of the city population had died in the zombie's attack, the survivor had started to get back to the city and continued their life.

When Nerva found him not waking up, She insisted to bring him into the temple so her mother could check on him.

Minerva had told them that he was fine, he just needed to rest, His body needed to adapt with the spark inside him.

This spark was what differentiates people with bloodline and without, for him, this spark didn't come from others but from himself.

Overall they could call him a pseudo Heir, while in the name he is pseudo heir but in truth, his spark was better than what a real heir has.

Just like Nerva, he was closer to a Demigod than anyone else with a bloodline, while Nerva was because her bloodline was purer than other, Sol was because he was his own source.

After he rested for a day, Nerodia woke up and told him to went to the temple so it could get its reward.

Sol got a headache because he would need to pay for this reward, "Damn, I forget about this reward thing"

He had hope that this reward was not too big or complicated or at worse, he would need to give Minerva another Heir.

He really didn't need more rumor about him, "Please God, No more child!" he prayed in his heart.
