2 Rebirth (1.2) - side story baby Fay
If the combined power of Time and Rebirth retrieved the wrong soul and placed it in a body that already had an existing soul... what happens to the existing soul?
The answer was revealed when Fay's soul entered the body of a child.
The unsuspecting child who did not know that a stranger's soul would push her out of her own body woke up in a white space.
"How could you make such a big mistake?"
"What do you mean how could I? How am I supposed to know the wrong soul would be brought to me? How am I supposed to know what she looks like? Your power was supposed to bring the child here. This is your doing not mine."
"My power was combined with yours! I let you use our powers combined. Aagh, I should have been here to witness it all. I could have told you it was the wrong soul."
"It's still not my fault. You know we Gods cannot be present amongst our kind when either of us uses our powers, it has unforetold effects."
"What do we do now?"
"We shouldn't combine our powers again. We've already seen what it has done."
"But this is the soul I wanted to save. What will be of her now?"
This was something no one could ever expect.
Something still had to be done. Fay was no longer able to live in her own body, it was replaced by another.
Yet, she could not just stay in this white space. No soul would survive staying here for too long.
"Why not send her to the other girl's body?"
"What?! Are you crazy? How would she adapt to a nearly fully grown adult's body? Even their worlds are different. Needless to say, she is but a child."
It was true.
Child Fay's soul was that of a child. Her soul that was pushed out of her body was that of the past, her mind was still innocent and young.
In one way, one could say child Fay was actually saved. She would certainly never end up meeting her evil stepmother. Wasn't this the goal from the start?
They wouldn't even be in the same world.
"Maybe it won't be so bad. Look at the girl's parents. Their souls are clean, there is no darkness to them. They would not harm the child."
"But how would they react to their daughter's mind suddenly turning to that of a child?"
"She can't stay here... we can only trust them and hope for the best."
It was true. Even if the God of Time worried, there was nothing either of them could do. Fay's soul could not stay here for long.
She had to be sent to an empty body soon and the only vessel available in time and space was the body of the wrong soul that was retrieved.
Her body was that of a college student, but there was nothing either God could change about this.
Fay would have to adapt to the new world and live in the body of a college student.
The only bright side to this was that before the soul was retrieved from the body of the college student, she had already finished her exams.
It would have been cruel for the mind of a child to enter a college student's body and try to complete college exams.
This was just a little luck but it was better than nothing.
Her mind was only that of a child, after all.
