1 Emergence of Kathmandu valley

Kathmandu,the capital city of Nepal has a unique history of its emergence According to the linguistic Chronicle (Bhasa bamasawali )there was a big lake where the Kathmandu valley exists at present. This was known as 'Nagadaha ' this lake was surrounded by hills on all sides. There was various myths regarding the emergence of Kathmandu valley and disappearance of the lake.according to hindu legend lord Krishna came to Kathmandu valley and killed Danasur (a demon who filled the valley with water)and drained the water out through the gorge of chobhar. Then ,cowherd who accompanied him settled there.

As mentioned in the swayambhu purana and then many dynasty come and ruled kathmandu valley since 1 to 1825 B.s and then the Shah ruled nepal 240 years till parliament declared nepal as a federal democratic republic state on 15th jestha 2065 B.S
