10 training & Officer Jenny

it was early the next morning when Rex woke up refreshed from his good sleep. Having to feed and train with Machop and now Magikarp Rex decided to get up earlier than usual in order to make the time for both of them. he could afford to be more hands-on with both of them since it was only two, but it would not always be like that when he started to catch more pokemon.

Rex decided to release Machop for his early morning meditation. Something that Rex implemented in order to help improve Machop's focus and to increase the quality and quantity of his fighting energy in order to improve his overall fighting strength. it was not all about hitting things and practising moves if the energy behind them is wasted and not concentrated. Otherwise, depending on the lack of practice, up to 50% of the energy accumulated could dissipate into the surroundings. meaning that a severe lack of efficiency on his part can directly impact the power of his moves.

Seeing that Machop sat down cross-legged and started to mediate Rex made his way over to the river in order to start his training with Magikarp. He could not start off too strong or it could have negative effects on his body so he only started off with swimming against the current while dragging weights. He began light as this was only meant to increase his strength and speed, slowly he increased the weight as Magikarp got accustomed to it. This carried on for a couple of hours taking rests breaks every 30 mins in order to replenish the energy lost. By the end of morning training, Magikarp was exhausted and made his way to shallow water where Rex had given him a plate of berries for nourishment mixed in with his recipe to feed Magikarp in order to maximise growth potential. Rex really didn't want to waste such a good seedling as finding such a strong and young pokemon was rare.

As the sun passed overhead, it meant that it was lunchtime and Rex made Machop's favourite spicey food, and since Rex didn't know what Magikarp liked he could only experiment with different flavours before finally coming to the conclusion that he liked salty foods. after settling the diets of his two pokemon, Rex cooked himself a delicious dish due to his good ability to cook courtesy of living alone. he didn't know whether to laugh or cry at this since both had their pros and cons.

after lunch was over, Rex instructed machop on how to use the move close combat before leaving him to train by himself. he already had a deep foundation in the art of hand to hand combat due to the months of training Rex and machop went through at professor oak's lab, so it was only a matter of time before Machop learned the move, after all, it was only joining a bunch of the move sequences Rex taught him and string them along in order to completely close combat, all that was left was using his fighting energy to turn it into the move.

Rex once again made his way over to Magikarp and began his second round of Physical training this time only for an hour as well as a few surprise battles with pokemon that decided to intervene in their training, annoying Magikarp who was trying to train seriously.

Rex 'seems that the training is already showing its effects I just need him to battle a bit and let him continue to train. I think I'll start to get him to learn how to control his water energy before he evolves so that he has mastered it to be the best of his ability in his current state.' he thought nodding in satisfaction.

He spent a few more days after that in route one in order to train Magikarp since it would be a little while before he could let him out again. since he was already close to evolving he wanted to make sure that Magikarp had as much control over his energy as his current body ould allow him before he was limited. soon that level was reached after all seeing Machop train so intensely stimulated the growth of Magikarp. adding the special weights, the moomoo milk that he gave Magikarp and the food made to stimulate growth he was already at level 20. he only needed the stimulation in order to evolve.

Rex decided to pack up camp and make his way to Veridian city that was only a couple of hours away. Finally packing everything up and recalling Magikarp and machop back into their pokeballs and made his way out of route one.

He soon arrived outside of the city before being stopped by a voluptuous beauty with green neck length hair tied in a bun, with a tight-fitting officers uniform that did nothing to hide her figure. Rex could not help but give her a once over while praising her in his mind, after all, having such splendid eye candy is never a bad thing.

Officer Jenny soon made her way over before being stunned at what she was seeing, a man with messy eye length white hair, stunning blue eyes dressed in black and white stood in front of her staring right back at her while giving her a once over. she didn't seem to mind as she had experienced this before but for some reason, she didn't seem annoyed by his stare in the least. snapping out of her daze she felt quite embarrassed before quickly adjusting her thoughts.

Jenny " I must ask you to please show me your ID before I can allow you into the city," she said with a straight face. one thing was to have a budding crush and the other was to neglect her duty. she knew where the line was and made sure not to cross it.

Rex only nodded and handed her his ID which showed his age, portrait, amount of badges and certification code given to him by the league as a show of affiliation. Jenny only needed to check if the face matched the ID and do a quick scan of the code to verify authenticity before he was allowed in.

After the scanner turned green signifying that all was good he was given the all-clear to enter. Jenny subsequently gave him his ID and her number attached to a piece of paper on the back of his ID, a very subtle move. Rex was surprised by her approach as he didn't expect to pick up a girl before even entering a populated area. he could only sigh and thank her before walking into the city. he made no promises as he didn't feel the spark of connection but he was a man, and it had already been a good 4 months since he was born again and had no action since. this is not even counting the years in his past life he almost believed he subconsciously become a monk. He couldn't blame himself for this, as during his past life war was everywhere. At first, he could afford to have certain relations with women but as his rank increased he found himself busier and busier. He wasn't a monk or a saint, at least consciously he wasn't, so he did need to let off a little steam sometimes, too much bottle up emotion can impact a person in a negative way. Thinking up till there Rex decided to leave it up to fate, if he met her again then he would make a move if not, then it is what it is.

AN: This is not the beginning of a Harem these are just flings that will not happen often! I was very hesitant to make the novel overly sexualised since other novels went down that path and got a lot of bad reviews. so I decided for the middle ground, I'll include them but not in detail, firstly I can't be fucked attempting to write about someone having sex in great detail if it doesn't impact the story, I'll leave that to when he meets his love interest, I'm just going to add these interactions in order to add a bit of diversity in the story instead of just being a fully about pokemon.
