7 Not even 1 day in and trouble already

Rex made his way through the forest in route 1 just outside of pallet town while thinking about where he should go.

Rex 'I think I should head to Veridian city first since I'll be spending a couple of days here due to training. I'll need to stock up on food and supplies before heading towards Pewter city for my first gym' he thought while walking further in.

He had let machop out of his Pokeball a while ago to walk beside him since they needed to bond and for the simple reason of letting the little guy explore his surroundings.

along the way, they battled another raticate, and machop developing a sort of hate for them due to last time, didn't wait for Rex to give a command before he launch himself forward.

a bullet punch followed by a power-up punch sealed the deal. Machop had grown a fair bit since last time and had way more control over his strength and moves. sure they weren't to the level of mastery since he still had a long way to go but he was getting better very fast.

as they continued through, no rattata's were spared either by machop as he moved forward like a terminator. Rex started to actively avoid areas with the rattata species since they would just get demolished by Machop effortlessly. the reason he didn't stop machop was that he wasn't using deadly force and it was a good way to refine and adjust the power of his moves when using them on weak opponents.

What they didn't know was that a group of rattata's under the leadership of a raticate had formed due to the chaos made by Machop, they were secretly planning their revenge.

Rex who had made his way to a river as the day was coming to an end stumbled upon a struggling Magikarp. it was a Massive shiny golden Magikarp that seemed to have been left behind by its friends.

Rex rushed to help out only to get hit by Magikarp's tail as it frantically tried to get away.

Rex "relax little buddy, I'm not going to hurt you I'm only trying to help you get back in the water," he said with a smile trying to calm down the pokemon.

Magikarp wasn't having any of it as he stubbornly resisted Rex. It appeared younger as most Magikarp would have bright scales when younger and would slowly lose their lustre as they got older. This even applied to shinies as well, its bright golden scales that almost seemed to glow was a dead giveaway at its young age. That being said it had much more power and resilience than a normal one.

Rex started to get interested in the poor guy. not because it's a Magikarp but because of what he could become. A Gyarados has very high stats for a pokemon with only a 2 stage evolution. And having Rex's knowledge of training and food could most definitely allow this Gyarados to become an outrageously strong pokemon. coupled with this little guys talent and temperament it would certainly become a force to be reckoned with.

as he was thinking this, a small wave of purple accompanied by intense rubbing came rushing over to where Rex was.

it was actually the rattata's that machop had defeated. Lets just say machop being impulsive and reckless didn't hold back whenever he saw a rattata, which in a forest such as this was many.

Rex seeing this gaped in shock before staring at machop.

Machop, on the other hand, didn't think much of it, in his opinion, once defeated always defeated.

Rex seeing machop's attitude swore to punish him afterwards

yet he couldn't think much now since the rattata's were rushing over sporting a number of over 50

for the first time, Rex was caught in a bind.

he could run away by swimming across the river but the Magikarp would be left behind and having nowhere to vent their frustration the rattata's would turn to Magikarp.

Rex could not leave and still have a clean conscience so he had to stay

Rex "damn" he cursed before harening his resolve.

Rex faced Machop and spoke grimly

Rex "since you caused this don't you dare shrink away! this is your responsibility understood?" he said

Machop was confused before suddenly understanding what he meant, he nodded before turning to face the mass of rattata's. he could finally realise the situation he was in and why Rex was in such a bad mood. now he understood, facing the rattata wave suddenly made him shudder a little.

Calming down after a little effort machop finally got serious.

Rex seeing the change in machop's attitude, sigh before getting ready himself.

Rex 'this is going to be a long night' he said already getting a headache at the thought of what came next.

Rex "let's go machop no time to waste, use thunder punch continuously."

hearing Rex's command machop didn't hesitate to rush forward any longer and dashed right into the fray. the rattata's at the front did not expect such a daring opponent but thinking of the pain they went through made the hatred inside of them burn hotter.

the first two rattata were sent flying up and to the side by machop's fists as he continued to swing them in a sequence just like in training. Yet, before he could move forwards, more took their place seemingly unfazed by his attack, the wave continued to attack machop.

seeing this Rex got a bit tense before focusing harder on finding a way to win.
