10 New Series + Drop Notice

Here's the TLDR of this announcement:

This story sucks, im dropping it. But I'm making a new one (that's much better). Chapter 1 is here (I can't post links on this site check my profile).

Here's the long version:

I wanna split this announcements into a few parts

Why this story sucks and why im dropping it

Where I was going to go with the series

What's different about this new series

So for the first topic of why this story sucks, there's a whole bunch of reasons.

The first and most obvious one is that I'm a very amateur writer. I have a habit of coming up with stories in my head and imagining them play out. There's a story that I really want to write but I want to do it right. I decided to start writing fanfiction so that I can practice writing where the pressure and expectation are a bit lower.

My inexperience has led to me making a whole bunch of mistakes when writing this series. I was literally making up the plot as I go and I went into writing this with the idea of "A pokemon isekai but I want these pokemon"

The premise of the plot I have set up limits me in writing anything new or unexpected for the audience.

Additionally, the only recurring characters I have created are as thin as cardboard whose personalities were ignored whenever it was convenient for the generic plot.

There were a few aspects I was proud of, but they were overshadowed by the story's fundamental flaws.

Here's the second topic: Where I was going to go.

The whole red hair guy plotline had no planning behind it. It basically came down to I wanted an antagonist who wasn't team plasma.

The upcoming gym leader fight was just going to go how I said it was. He was going to try to control the pace with swadloon using powder moves. Rufflet would blow it away with tailwind. Kill it.

We would be weak to dwebble so we would use tailwind to boost our speed with dodging. Hit it with super power gg.

After the gym fight I was going to have someone burst into the gym to ask burgh for help because team plasma stole the skeleton from the normal gym. From here I wasn't really decided what I was going to do.

I had a few ideas. The first and most obvious would be the MC teaming up with the game protagonist and doing stuff. My more creative idea would be the MC finds out the protagonist doesn't so it's up to him to fill the role.

Neither of these ideas really work since the MC has specifically stated he wants to avoid team plasma. It would be going against his paper thin personality.

Finally: What's different with this new series

Now, onto the exciting part—my new project! Unlike its predecessor, this series is meticulously planned out. From detailed character profiles and plotted events mapped out up to the third gym, I've invested significant time and effort into crafting a cohesive narrative.

One significant improvement is the presence of fully fleshed-out characters with genuine motivations and personalities. Gone are the days of characters bending to the will of a contrived plot; instead, the story flows naturally from their actions and decisions.

Here's a brief overview of the plot: A young protagonist with dreams of becoming a Pokémon professor finds himself transported to a world where his aspirations are challenged. Unable to rely solely on his knowledge, he must navigate the traditional path through academia or take a riskier route by winning the league championship.

In this series, character motivation is key. Additionally, the protagonist's expertise isn't simply brushed aside; it becomes a defining factor in his journey, allowing him to overcome formidable opponents through strategic thinking and research.

Thank you for your support thus far, and I apologize for the abrupt shift in direction. Rest assured, the next installment promises to be a vast improvement. Stay tuned for more updates and chapters to come!
