2 __ONE__

It was not long enough when Shern was asked to leave us. To be honest, I was not exactly shocked by her departure but was soon disappointed when I was asked not to write to her and maybe stop thinking about her. It was really difficult for me to stop acknowledging the fact that she has done a lot in my upbringing. Our mother has passed away when I was only 2, while my brother was almost 6. I honestly have no exact idea how she really was. But unlike me, Aiden, my brother had a lot of memories with our mother. At times I used to find him sitting on the window pane, staring outside the window, and tears rolling down his eyes. I assume, he was probably thinking about our mother.

Honestly, Shern has done a lot for me through out the past few years. I mean, past 12 years. As my father works in a law firm, it was really difficult for him to manage both the places i.e. his firm as well as our house. Deciding to be a single parent and keeping that decision intact was really a tough job; but we have never heard any objections from him this far.

It was until then, when my aunt came to visit us and asked few people in our town to help us with the house chores; which made Shern, come to our doorsteps 12 years ago. I don't remember her 1st appearance though but she was wearing a long dress supported with an apron, and had a smiling face to greet all of us.

She started working in our house and then our attachment towards each other grew like a wild fire. She never made me realize that I've none other than my father, as she was always present before me as a shield .

Shern used to wait every day until my father returned home and then she used to bid her goodbyes to us and leave only with the aim to return home early the next day.
