15 Mission Report

It is the same day as the other entry but I thought that this deserved an account of its own. David came to find me after shipping the others off to the special prison, I still don't understand why I wasn't included in that, and he apologised to me for how hostile he has been since I have arrived (his words, not mine!) He proceeded to justify this by saying that I am something special which is still playing in my head now. I comforted David when he told me that he feels like "the Freedom Fighters are crumbling before my very eyes" which was hard to hear as I can't help but feel somewhat responsible for this. But then David dropped the bombshell on me. He told me that I was going to join him with his trip to a Poland where he wanted to strike a truce with Jack and William. Well, you can imagine how I felt when he told me this! It took a second or two for the new information to sink it, even though it was right before my eyes, larger than life. Then I felt my lips stretch wider into a gaping grin and my eyebrows arched for the sky.

It was a very rough ride to the facility and I hate to admit it but I was absolutely terrified! But of course David gave me a pep talk so when we had landed I was ready to take on whatever super soldiers we had to deal with.

When we got inside we had to go down this old, rickety lift which made such a clatter when we landed on the bottom floor that I knew Jack would be prepared to take us on when the doors opened. Sure enough, when the doors opened, he was hiding behind a metal case but when I locked eyes with Jack he dropped it immediately. However, he still approached us with caution as he didn't know what side David was on. Once we had agreed that we were all on the same side and Jack had questioned David's thought process behind bringing me along, we carried on. I was told numerous times to stay behind either Jack or David but eventually, we made it into this massive room where William was tied up. Prepared for the worst, we all advanced towards him slowly and were able to free him without any trouble at all. As we questioned what was going on, Victor's minion appeared from a chamber. He wasn't intimated at all, even when he was approached by Jack, which surprised me. But come to think of it he was inside a chamber that was built to withstand a rocket taking off so he was pretty safe.

I'm now writing this passage with a heavy heart as what happened next what absolutely horrendous. Victor's minion proceeded to show us footage that revealed that on his way over here, he had made a little stop over at David's parents house. William, whilst in his brainwashed state, was then ordered to go inside and kill both of them. All of this was on camera. I reached for David's hand, to comfort him, and stiffened at the fear in his eyes, but he retreated. David was enraged and turned on William which then lead to an intense fight.

I don't know what happened next as I was told to leave by Jack whilst David proceeded to beat up William. I raced outside to the rooftop in an attempt to stop Victor's minion. Approaching him cautiously, I then confronted him with fury. "Do you have any idea what on earth you have done" is what I remember asking him. He just smiled and said that he could imagine what was happening inside. The satisfaction in his face was grim. He told me that now that he has successfully avenged his family's deaths in New York from the Freedom Fighters' actions, he is more than happy to be taken into the authorities by me.

So that's exactly what I did.

I went back inside to see what destruction had occurred and I had to help a bleeding David back to the jet whilst Jack helped William. The awkwardness on the jet back is something that I do not wish to remember. I genuinely thought that they were going to break out into a fight again from the death stares David and Jack were giving each other!
