5 Day Four: David vs Jack

I have decided that I am only going to write in here when something significant happens in order to not get an aching hand every evening after writing everything up. As you can tell from this title, something significant did happen and I was involved in it! I was woken up by David at 7 am and was absolutely shattered so I managed to persuade David to let me have an extra half an hour. When I finally did get up I did my usual run in the gym where I was joined by Natalie, who was boxing, and Jack who was lifting weights. They were certainly impressed with how long I was on the running machine for and Jack even questioned if I was also an enhanced individual which I just laughed at. Stupidly I allowed Jack to give me a session of weight lifting after running which resulted in me being absolutely exhausted by the end of it! We then all left and got ready for the day and I was planning on talking to Ben but he had gone back to Queens for school so I dodged a bullet there. I was about to ask Eagle Eye for an archery lesson when David came and told me that I had my first mission to complete. Those were the words I have been waiting in anticipation to hear so I leapt after him as he walked over to his girlfriend, Sarah. After pouring himself a drink, at 11 am, he told me that at first I will be working alongside Sarah. I don't mean to sound unappreciative but I was rather hoping to actually be a part of a mission with the others but I guess David only wants the best for me and I have to work my way up there. Sarah showed her eagerness at having some more help by someone so I guess it will be a great way for me to get to know her a bit more! Before I could show my appreciation, Jack entered with a stony face and demanded to know what was going on. I told him that "my first mission is helping Sarah with paperwork" in order to reduce the look of anger on his face which I did not understand. But unsurprisingly my plan backfired spectacularly and Jack had a full blown argument with David about how I should be training in case there is a mission soon. David was not keen at first but after Jack asserted his power over him stating that he would train me, I suppose David had no option but to agree with him. During the course of this argument I couldn't help but feel giddy with excitement. This excitement wired my body like I was plugged into the mains. I felt like my brain was on fast-forward and there was no off switch. Jack guided me away as I seemed to have become glued to the ground due to the adrenaline that was coursing through my veins. As much as I wanted to start training with Jack straight away, I was in agony from the weights this morning so I was allowed to have a relaxed afternoon instead of a taxing one down in the basement with Jack. I played chess with Vixen twice and lost twice which was rather embarrassing and then told Natalie all about the training that I did in order to apply for the army. However I think I overstepped when I asked her about her upbringing as she went silent but put a brave face on and said that she didn't like to talk about it. Once she had gone to get a drink I was told by Dr Mastermind how no one knows anything about her past and she wants to keep it that way. After dinner, which was just finishing up things as Jack had forgotten to place an order for a food delivery, which he is subsequently now doing tomorrow, we said goodbye to Blaze who was returning to his universe for a while. Once he had decimated an area outside to get back home, we all went in and I overheard a conversation between David and Sarah where Sarah thought it was cute that Jack wanted to train me, whereas Davis thought he was just doing it for the sole purpose of having another member for missions. Whatever reason is the right one I certainly didn't expect Jack to be so angry this morning at David. But they both have good intentions so of course that will bring them into conflict at times when they can't agree on the best plan of action. Anyway I am rambling and need to have an early night as tomorrow I am going to be tortured by Jack in the gym! But I can't wait to spend more time with him! I sent MJ a text to reassure her that I was still 'playing it cool' with Jack and now I am going to bed.
