49 Solo Heroing

About thirty years ago, the world have changed in a way that no one could have predicted.

A mysterious phenomenon known as 'gates' appeared throughout the world. Each of these gates lead to a pocket dimension known as 'tombs' housing monsters whose sole reason for existence was to kill humans and cause destruction. In order to make sure that these monsters couldn't get out of the gates and hurt the innocents, a group of incredible individuals known as 'heroes' rose to the challenge. They are the last hope of...

"What kind of stupid crossover like universe is this shit hole?" I groaned as I watch a blue circle of energy that was a 'gate' pulse on a wall of some store and people were just standing around it like idiots they were. More interested in recording and putting it on social media rather than the possibility of getting hurt.

"Is something matter, Denki-sama."

"No. Don't mind me, Kanae, just talking to myself." I waved the concerns of the girl beside me away with a nonchalant expression.

Kanae Tawata was a rather beautiful girl, with long pitch black hair under her cap and ruby like red eyes. Though many people stayed away from her due to her hand always being on the katana on her hip and the nasty expressions she tended to make, not to mention her temper that had more than once led to her beating up people like drums.

"If you say so, Denki-sama." And she is ridiculously loyal to me, Kaminari Denki.

Yup, I am that somewhat cool idiot from My Hero Academia. I had been reborn in this weird world after dying. How did I die? At a holiday, in Turkey. Right around the time of the 2023 earthquake and ended up under the rubble. It really sucked, dying in a position where I could not even move, only able to wait until the death claimed me.

I fucking hated it.

Not sure how long it took me to die under the pressure, maybe around a day or two, but after I breathed my last; I also breathed my first as Kaminari Denki.

Only, as I already have explained, it wasn't in the world of My Hero Academia as I knew it. Instead it seemed to become some sort of crossover world with famous manhwa concepts like dungeons, leveling and overpowered main characters.

There were other differences too, most drastic of them was the population of quirked individuals and the existence of awakened ones. For some reason, the number of people with quirks was far smaller than the canon MHA; only the sixty percent of the population. There were also another form of power, 'awakened ones'.

Unlike people with quirks, awakened ones got their powers around the age of fifteen or sixteen; or during some sort of traumatic event. The power of these people had far less variety. Most of the time it was just superior physical attributes that could be more focused on either strength or speed. Some people could awaken as 'mages' or 'healers' with powers far more diverse than the other awakened ones but it was still far less diverse than quirks. In exchange, there were almost no 'weak' awakened ones, unlike people with weak or, frankly speaking, useless quirks. The awakened made out about ten percent of the population.

There were also people who had quirks and were also awakened, but that was rare. As in only one in a few hundred among the awakened ones had quirks.

So of course I just happened to be one of the people who were both awakened and with a quirk. Cause why not, it's not like I wished to live a life where I would not have to deal with scrutiny from people in governments. Honest.

"Let's just get this over with." I said with a sigh as I rolled my shoulder and ran into the gate with Tawata by my side, ignoring the cries from the government officials who were just as useless as you would expect from an government official in a world with superpowers.

Time to have some fun.

"Sir, the news just came in. It's Kaminari Denk and Kanae Tawata again. They just entered to a gate in Halot." Ishiyama Ken, better known to the world as Cementoss, told his boss and the principal of UA university; Nezu. An... animal that he didn't know of with super intelligence quirk and, unknown to many, one of the most powerful men in the country.

"Hmm, is that so. I'm guessing officials around the gate weren't able to stop them." Nezu said with a tilt of his head as his tail swished behind him with amusement.

"Of course not. Those two are far too fast, especially Kaminari Denki, for even some heroes to stop; the guards had no chance." Cementoss said while shaking his brick shaped head with a sigh.

"How surprising. I have someone in Halot, I'll give them a call and have them try to convince those two. Thanks for bringing it to my attention." The animal principal said with a smile and waved as the teacher left his office, then he slouched back in his chair.

Kaminari Denki and Kanae Tawata. These two names had been something of a curiosity to him for the last two years. Since the first day they entered a gate.

People who weren't heroes entering the gates weren't exactly rare. Mostly because it wasn't truly illegal, sure the HSC would always talk about how dangerous the gates were and how people shouldn't enter but they never truly tried to make it into a law. It was one of the things Nezu could actually say he didn't know why. He had suspicions though.

Point is, people entering the gates; not that interesting. What was interesting; was two teenagers entering a gate and actually clearing the tomb instead of running away in fright, getting out with injuries and trauma or just dying in the tomb. Those were far more likely result.

But instead two teenagers had completed a C rank gate by themselves. That was the level that required at least twenty average heroes. Ever since then, the two young humans had been clearing gates. Nezu was quite interested in the loot they must have gathered by now. Especially from that tomb in the B rank gate.

He was really interested. Especially in the potential power houses they could become with training from UA, or at least the way they would affect the other students. They had some awakened and one who was both awakened and with a quirk this year. Not to mention Toshinori's successor.

Yes, Nezu really wanted them in his school this year. And who to better convince them, other than one of their best graduates who was an awakened one with a quirk; much like young Kaminari.
