In the middle of a torturing darkness I stood(?), or maybe sat there. I didn't know. I just knew that I was dead.
I died after a truck hit our airplane 10km high in the air. Or maybe I was dreaming. But it felt real.
'Am I in the limbo? Or hell? I wasn't that evil of a person to go to hell.'
- Wait up, I'm coming.
'What? Where is that voice coming from?'
- Give me 5 minutes.
'What the hell is that? Am I in a hospital and the power went out?'
- No. I'll answer your questions, just wait five minutes. It's online I can't pause. I'm solo wrecking OG, those kids need to practice 500 years to go against me.
'The hell is he talking about'

'I … did? But why are you asking me that?'
He didn't answer me and shouted:
- Hahaha … finally. Those noob bastards had it coming. So Ez.
Suddenly I saw a blue giant with four hands appear in front of me.

3 pages appeared in front of me. A red one, a green one, and a blue one. All the boxes had a question mark on them.
I just felt that I had to go with it.
I chose from the red category. And the box moved and a message showed up.

I chose the second box from the green and the same happened and a message appeared.

First of all you'll have 20 in each attribute when you start which means 400 health and 240 mana with 2 HP regeneration per minute and 1 Mana regeneration per minute. 400 health is around what normal humans have. You'll gain 2 Skill Points per level and 1 in each of your attributes. You'll get one Ultimate point each 10 levels and 1 talent point each 5.

I got up and looked around. I was in the middle of a jungle. I looked at my body. I was in my previous life's body. A 25 year old normal male with black hair and brown eyes. Nothing special. And I was wearing a normal black suit.
With a lot of doubt in my voice I whispered:

I wanted to try my powers but I needed to find out where I was and I needed to find some settlements. I walked around in the jungle until I heard gun shots!
I didn't know If I should go toward the gunshot sound or not! But it didn't seem that it was that far. Maybe I could take a peek?
The gunshot again. And then it started. The rain of gun shots. It sounded like an automatic gun.
'Am I in the middle of a war?'
I was on top of a small hill and I had a view over to a road which a car was trying to run away from other 3 cars in it.
- The fucking Nazi? WW2? Fuck!
German soldiers hit the wheels of the escaping car and it crashed to a tree. The four passengers got out of the car fast and started to shoot the 3 Nazi cars but it seemed it wasn't enough!
I told myself "Isn't it like when creeps hit each other in the laning stage and you last hit them? I just need to avoid getting the agro."
I had the high ground positioning and a good vision. Let's rip their souls!
I hid behind a tree and looked at the Nazi soldiers. There were 10 of them and they parked their cars a 20 meters away from the other car and hid behind their cars.
I used a soul rip on a German soldier.

I could see that he started to throw up vomit. I knew instinctively that it was the effect of magic of decay.
I needed to wait 24 seconds I did the same. He had 9 other soldiers beside him. I could do the max damage on level 1 which was 152.
The problem was that after second spell I ran out of mana!
- Isn't there a shop or something there?
After saying shop it appeared. The whole Dota 2 shop! And much more! I could buy everything. There was the famous Cheese! Even the heart of Roshan! There were other pages for the shop but I didn't have the time to look through them.
I had 1000 starting Gold! It was great! But I needed something fast, so I couldn't go for a build!
Mangos!
I thought about getting a clarity but the +5 mana regeneration it provided became +5 per minute and it was too long for me.
I bought 10 mangos for 700 gold. Which meant 1000 mana restoration and adding my 240 mana it meant 1240 mana in total and it meant that I could use soul rip 12 times. If they had around 400 health as Aghanim said, it meant that I could take out 4! Each by 3 spells.
The purchased mangos didn't appear in front of me. But I could feel their existence and figured out they were in my inventory. I could use them whenever I wanted to!
I started to kill them. Each one took a minute to kill. 3 spells with 24 seconds cooldown.
First one that threw up vomit died.

3? Just 3? I was spending 700 hundred gold to kill 4 and gain around 12 gold? That's just shitty gameplay.
They started to worry after I killed the second one. They started yelling in German with the third one going down. They started to fall back and run away. I didn't let them take all 3 cars. I killed a driver who was alone in that car as the fourth one who died under my spells.

'Wew! I need levels.'
I walked slowly toward the other ones. One of them saw me but I held my hands up so he didn't shoot immediately.
He spoke something in couple of languages, one of them was English.
"Was that your doing?"
"Yes, how did you know that?"
He ignored my question and said:
"I can say you are American by your accent. Are you a commando or a special agent or something?"
"No! I'm just lost."
He looked at me suspiciously and didn't lower his gun.
"I could hear German soldiers yelling something about a curse before they ran away by leaving 4 undamaged corpses behind. Did you poison them?"
I said "Something like that."
I looked at one of those four who was shot. The injury didn't seem that bad, but he seemed to have other injuries and lost a lot of blood.
"Colonel. Can you move? They might come back we to go."
One of the members of that group seemed to be a doctor and he yelled "He can't move. He'll bleed to death."
"Dr. Erskine! We need to move. If we don't and they come back we all will die. Colonel said you are more important."
I said loudly so they all can hear.
"I can help him."
The other soldier who was there pointed his gun at me and joined the first one.
"Who are you?"
I pointed at the corpses of German soldiers 20 meters away and said: "Someone who saved your lives, now let me help."
I wanted to use Soul Rip to heal him. I shouldn't have enough mana for that. But one of the Nazi soldiers was shot so I killed him low HP and had enough mana for another soul rip.
They looked at Dr. Erskine as they didn't know much about healing.
He nodded toward soldiers and asked me: "Do you have a first aid kit or something?"
"No."
I pointed at the person on the ground and used the soul rip. They all could feel the power rushed out from their body.
"What WAS THAT? WHAT DID YOU DO?"
The soldiers got angry suddenly.
"Oh my god!" Dr. Erskine looked at the wounds and was surprised. "All the wounds are closed and he is in a better shape! Let's move!"
Soldiers were surprised. Even though Colonel Philips didn't wake up but they could see with their eyes that the wounds closed.
I told them "Let's use that German car."
They trusted me a bit and we got in that car. I snatched a Colt from a dead soldier and got inside the car with the US soldiers.
I figured out where I was the moment I saw Dr. Erskine and Colonel Philips I knew it. It was Marvel universe! A world filled with heroes and monsters! I just need to roll with it and find the opportunities to gain more power and I would be unbeatable.
I was traveling with them to the US military camp.
Dr. Erskine started asking questions about how I did it but I didn't want to talk about it. I didn't figure everything out in my head so I postponed it till we arrive to the camp.
In the way I started to look at the system shop. There was another page to the shop, aside from the items.
One of them was my inventory.
I only had 4 inventory spaces. These spaces were like a pocket dimensions and whatever item I placed in them, I would gain the effect. It didn't matter that I didn't wear them. The inventory was enough. I could buy the fifth place for my inventory for 2000 gold.
Another page was for skills!

I scrolled down and saw

There were all kinds of masteries, but none of them was a skill. There were just their normal attacks and things they seemed to know as a character. Like:

There was also a Tome of Knowledge which I bought! It went for a cooldown for 3 months! The Tome appeared in my inventory and I used it instinctively.
I felt like words were appearing in my mind and I felt enlightenment!

I chose to improve soul rip. With the increased damage from 19 to 26 and increase in max units from 8 to 9, my damage would rise from 152 to 234. Which wasn't that much but still it was pretty good. If I randomized I might get a useless skill.
Not inherently useless, but useless in my situation. For example how could I use Lion's [Mana Drain]? There was no mage around. Or Magnus's [Skewer], I don't want to jump into the enemy's lap.
I pressed level up, but an error showed up.

I had to randomize. So I chose INT category. I didn't want to go the Tank's path. At least not now. I couldn't resurrect 50 seconds after each time I died. So the best ability for now would be long range magic. The best category for that would be INT.

Proximity Mines[Lvl1]
Plant an invisible mine that cannot be detected by True Sight, but is visible if an enemy is within the active 400 AoE(4 meters) of the mine. Mines detonate if an enemy is standing within the active AoE for 1.6 seconds. The explosion deals full damage in the blast radius, and deals 25% damage to buildings.
Note: This bomb can differentiate between friend and foe and friends won't get affected by it. It can one shot low level creeps.

'Is this the plot armor everyone talked about?'
I just got the perfect skill! With that I could make permanent mines with high damage! Because it was permanent I wouldn't be constrained with my mana, if I was given enough time. If this wasn't plot armor I didn't know what was!
I could see the Allies camp. We got there and the soldiers talked to an officer and I was lead to an empty tent. They asked me to wait there until they figure out what they want to do with me.
After half an hour or something a soldier came by and asked me to follow him.
We entered a healing ward. There were bandaged soldiers on all beds. At the end of the tent there was a small private part which had 3 soldiers guarding it and a piece of cloth separated it from the rest of the tent. I heard Dr. Erskine and a medic there. The medic was complaining about something: "Are you out of your mind? You want some stranger with some cheap tricks and no medical training heal Colonel?"
"I am confident in my decision. Please step back!"
"I won't. I can't let you leave Colonel's life in the hand of an outsider who might be a spy!"
I stepped in.
"Did I interrupt your conversation Dr. Erskine?"
He asked me to sit.
"No. But we need your help Mr. Rapier (I told him my name on the way)."
"Does Colonel require more healing?"
Dr. Erskine nodded "Yes, his internal bleeding didn't seem to disappear after the last healing and it got worse. We don't have equipment to do anything. Can you heal him?"
I looked at my mana and it was enough. Around 30 minutes on the way and around the same waiting in that tent, I regenerated around 60 mana points. Plus the 40 left, I had 100 which was enough for 1 cast.
"I can. Bring 8 soldiers here."
A minute passed and 8 soldiers arrived.

Color came back to Colonel's skin and wounds and Bruising marks disappeared.
He opened his eyes and said: "Am I in heaven?"

"Let's talk Mr. Rapier. It seems that there is a lot to talk about, but first of all, who are you?"
Colonel Philips got completely healed by my skill and after sorting everything in the camp he asked me to go to his tent and have a small chat.
"I cannot divulge any information about myself Colonel. You could say that I am here to help you. If you let me, I can be of great use. You could say that I have unique skills. Like what I've shown you, and other skills."
Colonel Philips didn't know what to do in this complicated situation. I saved him and his team. But I could be a spy.
"Why do you think Allied army would want a person like you?" For people like him, asking for help meant to be in the weaker position and he didn't like it!
"I don't assume they want my help. But I can be of a great use. Don't you care about your soldiers lives?"
He got a bit angry but he had a life debt to me so he controlled himself and asked:
"What are you proposing then?"
"I don't want to ask for much because I saved your life and Dr. Erskine's life. I only ask for an opportunity. Give me a chance and I'll help you during the war. I'll show you my worth. If it satisfies you and your government, and you put a good word for me, we can discuss it afterwards. With this I can at least show you I'm not a spy."
I was trying to kill two birds with one stone. I wanted to make them think that I need to fight to prove myself to them. So they would support me to fight more, because I was a wildcard that they didn't know about and even if I died, they wouldn't care. They would think they were gaining more out of this bargain, but I would be the one who would rip all the benefits.
"How do you plan to help? And what kind of skills are you talking about?"
I smiled and said:
"Give me some of German army's advancement path coordination or anywhere you want to defend, and give me 4 soldiers and some guns. I'll show you the results."

There was no way that Colonel Philips would accept this but SSR was curious and it was war time.
There were many fronts of war and different battle grounds. Sending troops to all of them was near impossible. After a long discussion I accepted to defend an abandoned camp from a 100 people invasion.
The intel from spies mentioned a small operation on that camp. They emptied it because it was hard to defend, but it was still a strategic place.
"Hello sir. My name is Lieutenant Jackson from SSR. I'm here to supervise you for this mission and evaluate your worth for this war. These three soldiers beside me are private Samuel, Edward and Bryan."
"Thank you for the cooperation. Let's go there, we need to be fast. They said the invasion might happen in one or two weeks and we don't have the time on our side."
We got on a car and went toward that abandoned camp which took 5 hours of driving.
One of the soldiers asked: "Why is this place empty sir?"
Lieutenant Jackson said "They abandoned it because it was strategically hard to defend."
The other soldier asked nervously "When is the reinforcement coming sir?"
Lieutenant Jackson toughened his face and said: "There is no reinforcement. Mr. Rapier has some unique skills to make traps as he said. He will lead this operation."
I smiled and said: "Don't worry guys. I know my stuff."
I had to be fast. So I looked at the Shop, I needed to prepare for the war and there was two essential elements. Traps and Vision!
I bought Observer Wards. They were priced 0 gold and had 12 hours cooldown on the shop. I bought 4. I also used the 225 gold I had (I had 300 but I bought the tome of knowledge for 75) to buy a Sage's Mask which gave me +0.7 mana regen per minute for 175 gold and was left with 50 gold.
The sage's mask was in my inventory and I could feel its effect on my. I could take it out and wear it, but I was afraid that it might get stolen.
I stood in the middle of the camp and looked at the 4 people who followed me.
"I know it seems crazy to fight them like this. But we are not going to go head on against 100 soldiers. Just help me make a minefield here and we will get out of this place before they arrive. I have a special device that helps me monitor everything around this camp."
I took an observer ward out of my inventory but I showed it like I took it out of my pocket. I looked at the Lieutenant Jackson and said: "Give me a map of this place. First we will put these devices around this place so I can detect any unusual activities. Then we will start on creating the minefields."
I used my Proximity Mines and created a blue energy that appeared on the ground in the shape of proximity mines and after a second it disappeared. But I could feel its existence there. Soldiers also saw the light appearing and disappearing and were amazed.
"Let's create a hell for them."
