"There's your mother. I told you she would not abandon you," Rosalia told Magnus. 

Her pale lips lifted in a smile. But Aisha knew that she wasn't happy at all. 

One could note distress in her voice covered in fake enthusiasm. 

Aisha drew in a deep breath as she readied herself for an earful.

But Rosalia's apprehension didn't unnerve her as much as Magnus' thrilled face in seeing her.

He hurriedly ran out to where Aisha was and put his little arms around her.

Aisha's eyelids welled up as she realized how she would not have the chance to feel that warmth if she got arrested when she was at Market Town.

But she blinked her eyes rapidly to prevent them from accumulating. She can't be weak in front of her son.

She stooped down and gave him a warm embrace as Magnus bawled, "Mama left Magnus."
