It was already early afternoon. But Lady Aisha's tattered house was still closed.

The doors were still locked, and the windows were not even opened up. 

The only things that could be heard were the chirping of the birds and the ruffling feet of the squirrels. 

Even the little boy's squeals were not audible to his supernatural ears.

The cold air drifted in, sending shivers to Lycano's spine. It made him feel even more that his purpose was in vain. 

He should have gone earlier. But there were some matters in the granary that he needed to attend to. 

"They were not here, my lord," Lyno, his assistant, informed him. He said it in an emotionless and aloof tone after he had circled the small house.

Lycano sighed. He already had an idea that Lady Aisha might leave the place. But he just shoved it away and refused to acknowledge it.
