16 Prepping for the Future

I took my spaceship from the storm cellar to the Fortress to avoid any drama where humans would find it. I had Jor-El increase the security to prevent humans like Lex from entering without being immediately incapacitated. I plan to add even further security to secure the Fortress.

2001 - Arctic Circle - Fortress of Solitude

"Father, I require a costume in order to test my abilities assisting humanity. Does the fortress have matter replication capabilities? Can you create a costume that proudly displays the symbol of the House of El?"

"Yes, Kal-El," the disembodied voice of Jor-El announced.

"It needs to be made of a material that is as indestructible as possible, allows for maximum absorption of solar energy, and has a long red cape to assist with turning corners while flying. Oh, who am I kidding? The cape definitely completes the look. Can you look in my mind and reproduce what you see?" I proposed while picturing the suit I had in mind.

"Stand by, Kal-El," Jor-El answered.

Rumbling was heard throughout the fortress as time passed during the construction of the suit. When it was finished, a crystal container holding the suit rose from the ground, displaying the suit in all its glory. The suit was fashioned after the Man of Steel movie. It was dark blue chainmail weave style throughout the suit with red boots, red cape, and the iconic symbol on the chest, a stylized representation of the House of El (the iconic "S").

"Thank you, father. This is beyond perfect!" I exclaimed in excitement, "I may need additional suits in the future as I grow. I hope it's not too much trouble?"

"Not at all, Kal-El. It is easily reproducible. It warms my heart to know you proudly wish to wear the symbol of the House of El and are embracing your destiny." Jor-El states.

The crystal breaks around the suit, and I take it. I say my goodbye to Jor-El and fly home.

2002 - Smallville, Kansas - Kent Farm

I've been stopping the meteor freaks as they come. Since the clean up began by Queen Industries last year, there's been a reduction in the amount of victims and meteor-infected individuals when compared to canon.

With the influx of solar energy intake, exercising within the gravity of the orbit of the Sun, lifting heavy things like old ships, and trying to constantly build muscle, along with my connection to the Speed Force, it seems to have accelerated my development - especially with the adaptive physiology playing a role due to the stress I've placed on my body. I now appear to be approximately 18 years old.

It's time to start making appearances as Superman. Just because I have the Secret Identity Protection Perk, doesn't mean it's 100% foolproof. I don't want to make it easy for people to draw a line between my civilian identity and my hero identity.

If I stick to Smallville mysterious rescues, then after graduating appear in Metropolis with similar rescues, if someone like Jimmy Olsen can draw the conclusion that Red-Blue Blur is Clark Kent, other people can do so as well. As paranoid as it may seem, I'd like to eliminate all possibilities of someone figuring out my identity.

I put on my Superman uniform and left the farm, flying high into the sky, heading towards Gotham.

2002 - Gotham City

A car screeches as it turns a sharp corner while being pursued by a trail of police cars. The back windows of the car have armed thugs hanging out the back of it, wildly firing automatic weapons at the police cars.

I stand in the middle of the road as the speeding car crashes into me and the driver's head hits the steering wheel, knocking him out, and the passenger groans in pain. The thugs in the backseat are groaning as well from the sudden loss of acceleration. The police slam on their brakes and get out their cars to observe the action before them.

I snatch the guns from the car and bend them into balls and toss them in the air, using heat vision to super heat them then stomp on them to create a flat disc of metal. I take the thugs out of the car one by one and throw them to the ground. I stand there for a few moments so the police can observe me, then I take off into the air to observe the rest of Gotham.

I stop several muggings, an attempted sexual assault, a carjacking, and several attempted murders. Then, I head to Bludhaven to repeat the actions. After that, I go to Starling City. And finally, I finish in Metropolis, making sure to show myself only for a few seconds at a time.

2002 - Smallville, Kansas

I use the Speed Force along with my flight to fly in the opposite direction of the spin of the tornadoes as soon as the warnings go out. The tornadoes completely unravel due to my interference. Minimal damage is done.

2002 - Smallville, Kansas - Smallville High

"Why aren't you buying a class ring?" asked Chloe.

"Those aren't rubies or garnets," I said, handing Chloe a new article.

"Red meteor rock? Are you serious?"

"There's been testing done by the MetU geology department," I confirm.

2002 – Smallville, Kansas – Smallville High

"Isn't this technically statutory rape or something? I mean, talk about robbing the cradle. Aren't you like sixty years old?" I said.

She tried to run. She didn't get far, "Good night, Chrissy."

2003 – Smallville, Kansas – Smallville High

"Cyrus, you're not an alien," I said firmly. "I know you think you are but you're not. Look at this article."

"The body was already dead when I inhabited it," explained Cyrus.

"No, Cyrus, you didn't. You're ill, you need help."

"I need to go home," the boy shouted as he ran from the school.

2003 – Smallville, Kansas – Smallville High

"Are you sure Eric Marsh isn't an actor on the side? He looks just like this kid from Home Improvement," I said to myself, watching the batting practice.

"Looks like you're not going to be developing that kryptonite steroid any time soon." I continued my rant. "He's not getting any scholarships based on his lackluster performance. Couldn't happen to a worse person. What kind of psycho tries to put someone in a blast furnace?"

2003 - Arctic Circle - Fortress of Solitude

Jor-El has just finished downloading all the languages of Earth (including dead languages) into my brain to assist with future world saving and overcoming future possible language barriers. Considering this universe doesn't have Allspeak, this will have to do for now.

"Jor-El? Can you also give me the most common languages I could run into intergalactically speaking? Considering I don't have a green lantern ring to translate for me, it might come in handy to be able to communicate with aliens." I said.

"Sure, Kal-El. This could take the rest of the day. Be patient." Jor-El responded.

2003 - Metropolis - Hovering Above Daily Planet Building

I'm currently practicing my super hearing in order to become a master at listening to everything most or all of the time. After many hours, I finally have mastered my super hearing to such a degree that if I ever heard people shouting "Superman!", I could easily multitask by living my life and hearing the cries for help. My adaptive physiology likely has accelerated my abilities to the extent that I'm probably years ahead where I would normally be when it comes to my senses.
