2 In The Void

After countless time of being in the void, our protagonist appears in front of a desk. Behind the desk, is a nerdy-looking man drumming his fingers in the desk, staring at the computer screen in front of him.

Random Omnipotent Being: "Welcome Soul to Afterlife Intervention Services. Due to your refusal to move onto the other side and your strong desire to live, you have been given an option to once again live."

Trevor: "That's great! You can send me back to my body?!"

ROB: "No. You may select to be reborn as a baby in your chosen world or to transmigrate into an existing body at a chosen age with or without that body's memories.

Trevor: "Okay. I like those options."

ROB: "Choose rebirth or transmigration."

ROB starts hovering his mouse icon over the boxes in the entry form he's filling out.

Trevor: "Transmigration"

ROB clicked the selection and said: "Select the world you'd like to transmigrate to."

Trevor: "The universe that Smallville is in."

ROB enters "Smallville" into the search field and clicks the option.

ROB: "Choose your vessel."

Trevor: "You mean which body I want to take over?"

ROB: "Yes."

Trevor: "Clark Joseph Kent from Smallville, Kansas."

ROB enters Clark Joesph Kent from Smallville in the search field and selects the option.

Random Omnipotent Being: "Select 3 Unrestricted Wishes and 3 Perks."

Trevor: "I think the "wish" part is self-explanatory, but what are perks?"

ROB: "Wishes are reality-altering decisions or chosen outcomes that can be on a grand scale. Perks are specific to your new life or body."

Trevor: "Can I get an example of each?"

ROB: "Given your chosen world, a wish would be that the meteors from the meteor shower that brought your chosen vessel to Earth contained no kryptonite. A perk would be having a 12th level intellect or your family's farm is incredibly successful."

Trevor: "I'm sorry to ask this of you, but do you have something to write with? I want to be as specific as possible in order to take advantage of this situation. I assume there are no 'do overs', right?"

ROB slides over a notepad and a pen. Trevor begins writing the following list:

Wishes:

Superior Adaptation: Users can quickly adapt to any situation, automatically gaining the necessary attributes to face them. In a fight, they may adapt themselves to resist abilities, replicate and enhance them to surpass their opponents, or spontaneously develop specific countermeasures. They can also analyze and understand any object, person or situation, quickly deducing the best course of action.

Superior energy capacity and absorption: Every cell can absorb all kinds of radiation for power uses (red sun, yellow sun, blue sun, cosmic radiation, gamma radiation, microwaves, all forms of kryptonite, radioactive waste, etc.); connection to a limitless personal dimension that when the body is at max storage capacity, it serves as an overflow that can store unlimited amounts of energy (when body capacity is exhausted, body refuels from this dimension). Note: With this wish, a situation like All-Star Superman (imminent death from overcharging) is impossible.

Powers Always On/Eternal Power and Vitality: Powers and vitality unable to be disabled, weakened, or stolen. Biological processes cannot be stopped and biological processes cannot be manipulated by enemies or hostile territories. (Powers will work in places similar to the phantom zone and other hostile dimensions.)

Perks:

Absolute Immortality:The user is absolutely immortal, and cannot die, age, get sick, be permanently wounded, is absolutely self-sustained and, as their mind and soul are as immortal as their biological bodies, they are immune to mental/spiritual damage. Any injuries the user suffers will immediately heal, even if the user's body is disintegrated or blown up or completely erased and even if the user is completely destroyed to the sub-atomic level, they will still return to life. Aging will cease after the age of 29.

Immunity to telepathy, mind control, possession, and other such mental-based attacks.

Secret Identity Protection: When wearing any superhero costume (whether low quality, homemade, or of professional quality), it becomes impossible to connect Clark Kent's identity with his superhero persona. Facial recognition software will fail any comparison between the two and no other technological, magical, or any other method of determining your true identity will work. Tracking satellites or other technology will fail to capture any proof of your identity. When at your primary residence, a place where you will rest (e.g. hotel room), or any location where one of your allies lives, all surveillance methods employed by others will fail to capture evidence of any abnormal activity by yourself (e.g. a spy cam planted in your bedroom with live transmitter that attempts to transmit you changing into your costume will short out, lose signal, or something will happen to interfere like the hard drive of the recording will wipe clean or omit that portion, the spy cam will fall, or any number of possibilities, almost like the powers of Marvel's Domino, reality itself will alter to give the favorable outcome [protecting identity]).

ROB: "Those perks are basically wishes."

Trevor: "You didn't list any restrictions on perks. You just said the perk is specific to the body or new life. Essentially, it is a wish that is limited to the vessel and the immediate life of the vessel, whereas the 'wish' can work on a much grander scale."

ROB: "...Well, we actually don't have defined parameters for 'perk' other than being severely limited in comparison to the 'wish'. We will need to patch this immediately. People usually choose to be very lucky, to have an eidetic memory, etc. Never had someone as greedy as yourself."

Trevor: "Look, I'm sorry. I just followed what you told me. Do you need to obtain approval for the perks or what?"

ROB: "...No. But this goes against the spirit of the Perk category, and you're lucky you were specific about which Clark Kent you wanted to be transmigrated to or I would put you into a random Clark Kent anywhere other than the Kryptonian, just for being slick with the perk selection."

Trevor: "I said I'm sorry! Do you really want me to change it?"

ROB: "No, whatever, you've wasted enough of my time. When do you want to take over the vessel and do you want your old memories and/or your new memories?

Trevor: "I want both the memories from my past life and my new life's memories."

ROB: "Ok, fine. And at which age do you want to start your new life?"

Trevor: "After the completion of middle school. As soon as summer starts, before high school."

ROB: "Ok. All finished. See ya, Greedy McGreedster."

My senses turn black.
