2 The Boy in the Flower Crown

(Sawyer's P.O.V)

I wake up to the sound of my 'step mother' screaming from down the stairs. "Get up you piece of shit!" I groan and grab my glasses off the floor next to my bed and look around my grey empty room. "Maybe this year it will be different," I whisper and throw off my sheets. I walk to my closet and pull out a pair of black jeans and a black long sleeve sweater and pull them on. I grab my wand and trunk and start to make my way down the stairs to the kitchen. When I get there I wish that I had been struck blind, my "Stepmother", Carolina was on the counter making out with some random half-naked guy eating her face. "Get a room." I groan and grab an apple from the fruit basket. "What the fuck did you just say to me?" Carolina asks. "I said get a room, my dad wouldn't have left this house to you if he knew that you would just fuck other guys in it." Once the words left my mouth I wished they hadn't, I felt a hand strike across my cheek making me fall to the ground. "And if your father had known how much of a  disappointment you would grow to become he would have made your whore of a mother get rid of you, God knows she didn't want to be here." I feel tears brim my eyes but I won't give her the satisfaction of seeing me cry. Besides it's normal for parents to punish their kids when they mouth off. "Here's a few dollars and your ticket, get out of here. And remember, if you don't get into Slytherin don't bother coming home." She shoves me out the door and I get a taxi, who doesn't hesitate to make the drive terrifying, especially because I've never been in a car before.

*Time skip to kings cross*

The driver basically shoves me out of the car and I barely have enough time to grab my stuff, I look around and I can't see a sign to 9 ¾ anywhere. I see a girl with bright red hair pushing a trolly with her parents not too far behind her she looks excited and I can hear her from here. She's talking about the platform. I grab a trolly and race up next to her making the bruises on my side hurt but I ignored it like I always do. "Excuse me, do you know how to get through to platform 9 ¾?" I ask, she stops in her tracks and hugs me tight. I stiffen at the odd girl's touch but her parents just chuckle. "We apologize, our Lily here hasn't met very many people like you very often." Like me? Ohhh Lily's a muggleborn, that makes sense. "We have to run between platforms 9 and 10, sounds scary if you ask me," Lily says finally letting me go to get a better look at me. "Well, I um I heard it's magic." I have been deprived of social interaction for like six years so I don't talk to people well. She laughs in amazement and twirls. "I love magic and  everything about it, what do you want to learn most?" I give her a small, fake smile and look at the clock. "I'll answer that later I have to go, thank you, bye.' I run off with my trolly and run through the wall. I make it through and I see kids getting on the train, or kissing their parent's goodbye. Some were even crying. I roll my eyes and put my trunk in the loading area and walk through the train. I find an empty compartment and quickly walk in and close the door hoping no one would come in. After a while of watching kids say goodbye to their parents, I start to wonder what it would be like if my mom or dad were here. I feel tears brim my eyes but someone opens the compartment so I quickly wipe my eyes and look to see, A boy? In a pink flower crown?
