1 The boy in blue

Her life - to her - had always been sad and void of happiness.

She couldn't remember the exact day she realised that when she came home from school that a feeling of loneliness dominated her mood on a regular basis.

She was by no means friendless, she had quite a lot of friends, but she was by no means popular either.

She was somewhere in the middle, she was content, she thought she was happy. Her friends to her were her reason for living; they made her happy ,made her smile more, made her trust more.

It was stupid.

Trying to fully trust your friends.

The school canteen buzzed with students, each in their own squads of friends, her squad just happen to take the three rectangular tables in the middle of the canteen and as they were in the top year group they weren't bothered.

Their squad was slightly odd, made up of 3 three squads that were close enough to shuffle around people between them, her squad wasn't consistent, people seemed to come and go, right now they were more like a big squad of twelve instead of three squads of four.

She played with her food in her plate as she listened to the girls chatter, once again she asked herself why she bought lunch.

She had breakfast and now buying lunch was a huge reminder that she would never reach her idle body weight if she kept eating from school.

"Alyce." One Of her friends out of the twelve began and she looked up to see the blonde American with her uncomfortable expression as if she was completely disgusted by something.

Zoe.

An odd girl who seemed to be highly superficial but was actually an academic student well as much as she seemed like one.

"If you didn't know me what would you think of me?"

Alyce smiled reluctantly, she was well known among her friends for being brutally honest, sometimes even a little savage.

But that was honestly just because she was a troll.

She had a habit of implying a lot of things while talking to people she wasn't particularly fond of, including the blonde.

"Um..." she thought for a while as she wondered how exactly to explain the world for a superficial girl with a low brain cell count that lives attention.

"Basic?"

She had a shocked look on her face that seemed to be merged with a smile.

Maybe she shouldn't have said anything, whatever, it was important Zoe understood that they would never be anything closer than squad members.

She was the kind of person that Alyce didn't want as a friend no matter how pretty or smart she was.

Her character .... was just too petty.

Ignoring the laughter of the people around her she got out her phone to check her Wattpad story that she had been writing for a few months.

Scrolling through the notifications to read the comments, her friends carried on and for some reason, in that room full of people she felt... alone.

There were so many secrets surrounding her that none of them knew, if you were to inspect their relationship based solely on how much they knew each other you would quickly find that she didn't have any true friends.

So when she was given the opportunity to gain a close companion, someone who she could rely on, she took the opportunity and gained something so much more.

Met his profile on Wattpad, recently joined a few hours ago, published a book.

She opened it to read voting to give her support as she remembered her first ever book, a fanfiction that had the worst plot and main character she had ever created.

A fast paced book that thinking about it now she would never read because it had no emotions behind it except for making the main character awesome and making imagine herself as the main character ignoring all the little details like how she became that way or whether it was even remotely realistic or sensible.

Smiling she finished voting and oddly enough she got an inbox message.

"Thank you for your vote Walker-san!"

Readers had called her walker-san before and she always smiled.

"Your welcome!"

And that was how it all started.

Some years later Alyce had decided to go shopping for her parents, it was the summer holidays and she didn't have much to do, she grinned to herself as she checked her phone to find a new message.

"What are you doing now Walker-san?" He has asked as she picked out a bottle of milk pushing the trolley.

She quickly replied.

"I'm out shopping."

She picked up another bottle to inspect the best by date before dropping it back.

"Me too!"

She grinned again, he was such a cute kid to her, with a slight tsundere trait, a person that could only exist online.

She pushed the trolley down the isle as another taller teen came from the opposite direction.

"Maybe we're in the same store." She texted and she heard a small laugh and she turned to see the boy beside her as he typed on his phone.

"Walker san is too funny." He said out loud and she turned wide eyed.

"Aiden?"

He turned to her and he blushed slightly.

"Do I know you?"

She typed on her phone again.

"Stop calling me walker-san, you know my name."

His eyes widened.

"Walker-san!?"
