2 A Very Normal Job

'Beep, beep, beep.' My alarm clock signaled for me to get up. My back sore from last night, and the lady that I had brought home last night was also gone; 'Sigh' "What can you do." I thought to myself. I hit my alarm clock to make it stop like I did every morning, then getting out of my slightly messy bed to go take a shower. Passing by a giant fridge that would usually be in restaurants, and walking on the old wooden floors of my apartment that made cricks as walked towards my bathroom. I turned my shower on hoping I could get hot water today, but nope; cold water once again. I complained to myself once again about how the landlord never fixes the water, but what can you do, he'll kick me out for saying anything. After getting out of the shower I looked around my apartment for any clothes that would be wearable for today, I found a white, a black-grayish hoodie, and some sweat pants for the day.

'Ring, ring, ring.' I picked my phone on the fourth ring, and then responded "This Joffrey what can I do for you?" I said with an attitude in my voice.

"Hey Joffrey, come in for work I got a job for you." A man with an older voice said.

"You know whenever you give me a call you always give me jobs the others don't want." I said with a pained sigh.

"I know but I can always can count on you to get the job done; can't I?" The old man says in a sly voice at the end.

"Yeah, you can count on me to get the job done boss." I said again with a pained sigh in my voice.

"Ah, also don't forget to cover that gross face of yours, I still hate; ok?" He said with a disdained voice.

"Yeah, I got it boss." I say as I pick up my custom mask that is dark blue with a shark swimming across it.

As I head out to go to my job, which is small building with two stories, with the office being the basement. Still, it was much nicer than my own apartment which was very small, being it was on the first story of the apartment complex. I walked down the stairs of the building to get to the office, I knocked three times, and then two times just to make sure they know it was me.

"Yo, can you open the door, it's me." I said.

As the guard open the door slit to look at me says "You know I can't do that Joffrey, rules are rules."

"Ay, like you cared about rules Ricky." I said.

"Let him in Rick, he's here for a job I got for him." I heard the boss say from afar.

I then walked through the door as Ricky opened it for me, "Boss you mean that job?" Ricky said with a laugh.

"Yeah that one we got a week ago, a real nasty one." The boss said also with a slight chuckle.

"So you called me all the way down here, why couldn't you just say what's job over the phone?" I explained with an annoyed tone.

"Well you see this one is kinda special, okay." The boss said.

"What do you mean 'special', every job I did was kinda 'special'?" Curiously I said.

"Well the client wants you to kill two people, but they want the husband brought to the wife before killing her. They wanted the husband laid next to the wife." The boss said briefly.

"Okay, that's kinda weird, but not that strange. So where do these two live?" I asked.

"One lives in a suburb house, and the husband in an apartment in the city. Aren't you going ask why the client wants them dead?" The boss asked.

"I know better than to ask questio-," I said before being cut off, "Yeah I know, I get that coming from you." The boss continued.

"Anyway I'm off, see you in a week boss." I said while waling out of the building.

"Yeah, see you in week Joffrey." Said the boss.

Two days later I had come to the place where the husband had lived, I had paid off the building owner to give me a key to the place. I waited till night when he was home, I had seen him go into his apartment drunk, so I knew this was going to be very simple. I opened the apartment door in the dead of the night, took my gun out with a silencer, and in one shot to the temple of the head he was dead. Wrapping him in plastic to make sure to preserve him per the clients request. All while making sure blood doesn't get anywhere, I put him in the trunk of my car to make sure no one finds him.

"Well I don't care who you were, but I guess someone really doesn't like you, or your wife." I said.

While on the way there I had stopped in a burger joint to get some food. I had gotten a call from my boss.

"Oh, by the way the client has put an extra request to do a brutal kill, not neat." The boss said

"Oh, oh really now." I exclaimed with a smile, "Now this is going to be a fun one, aha." I said while laughing to myself, and stopping myself before my laughter got too out of control.

"Yeah, yeah. I get it creep, you like killing. Just do your job correctly." The boss said with sigh

I drove up to the suburban, waiting outside till it got dark. While waiting there, there was no movement in the house but a storm had rolled in. I waited, and waited till it was the dead of night, and the only sound to speak of was the sound of the rain pouring down. The sound of the rain was peaceful as if the clam before the storm, a peace before a crisis. Getting out my car before then going to the door. I wait, and wait, waiting for the right moment to break in, then it happened.

'Ka-bang' the loud thunder had pound, I rammed into the door with all my strength breaking it down, masking the sound of the door breaking apart with the sound of the thunder.

I stopped before making another noise. Walking down the hallway quietly so not to make a noise, I opened the at the end of the hallway to find the wife just lying on her bed. I took out my gun and shoot in the temple.

"Didn't want a lady yelling." I said to myself.

Taking out my hunters knife, I slashed across her stomach, and then her neck. Make sure to spread the blood everywhere, I continued to chop her bit, by bit. Saying to myself "This is a job, not one of your killing Joffrey." I finally cut up the last bit of, leaving only her bones, and chunks of flesh on the bed.

"Next part of the job." Saying that while cracking my knuckles

I went to my car, carrying the corpse of the husband to the bed, lying him right next to the wife as instructed. The going to the phone of the house I called my boss to tell him the job was done, and that I'm coming back.

I heard something like a scream from the end of the hallway, but I thought it was just thunder. Continuing to talk to my boss about how I don't want to do this job again, though they are fun. It just not fun when I can't do both of them. Then all of a sudden I had this chill, dropping the phone to the floor, I looked behind me. I-it was a ghost, the ghost of the lady I just killed. But that isn't possible, there's just no way that can be. My blood instantly to ice-cold, my entire body turning pale. The ghost's head did a 180 head turn "N-no there's no way that was real." I thought. It turned back towards me with tears of blood coming out of its eyes now.

Then screamed out in the most terrifying voice I've ever heard said, "W-WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOUSE!!"

I was too scarred to do anything but scream involuntary, "AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGH!"

With no way to explain this to myself, I asked in a terrified voice, "H-H-H-HOW ARE YOU STILL ALIVE!!!" I just couldn't take it anymore, and ran out of the house and back to my car. "This, this isn't real." I kept thinking to myself. Started my car, and drove away, like what could I do in that situation. I kept driving straight back home, I just couldn't deal with, even though all the other things I've done that is the one thing I can't deal with.

I got back after driving non-stop, arrived at my boss place and asked, "What the hell was this job!!!?", But got no answer just the boss saying "Good job, and welcome back." Like he couldn't understand what I just said, but I know he couldn't understand because I didn't say anything. I knew I would be labeled as crazy, and would never be able to get another job. So I kept my mouth shut and said, "Yeah, I back."
