4 Into the forest.

(A Slight Repeatation Of The Previous Chapter)

******

The snowy and cold wind blows across the land that Zyla has been walking on for three hours now. The wind is too heavy, and she can't bear the snow seeds that are threatening to enter her eyes. The snow is slippery and it sticks to the shoe of Zyla as she held her hand out, obstructing the strong wind that is still blowing towards her. If she isn't a trained orphan, she wonders what's going to happen in an area like this.

"I'd probably die" Zyla whispers with a chuckle as she finally reaches the trees that are standing upright, and the thick darkness that engulfs her, makes her heart develop a feeling towards this forest that is becoming very unbecoming.

Immediately she steps into the forest, she takes her sweater off and stares ahead and into the forest. She ties her sweater tightly on her waist and takes out her flashlight. Her bag is hanging around her shoulders like a captain. She neatly packs her hair in a high bun holding the flashlight in between her legs.

"Hey, you guys there?" she calls in a whisper through the ear deposit.

"Yeah we're here" Janice answers, chewing some popcorn.

"Where else am I to go? I'm in the forest"

Janice swallows the popcorn hard and then checks the map that displays boldly on another computer near the one she's using to communicate with Zyla.

"Uhhh... You have to go ahead and then you'll burst out in the Empire"

"So you are saying, you want to get me killed, by just going ahead?"

"Killings you won't be a problem for the wolves if you allow it"

Zyla switches on her flashlight and continued walking as she spoke with Janice.

"You hate me, do you?"

"And if I do, some other people may like your ass, my liking for you won't matter to you again, will it?" Janice asks, filling her mouth with a huge amount of popcorn.

"Ah... Perra (B****)" Zyla cussed in Spanish and under her breath as she continued further.

She walks with her head held high, the knives in the spaces on her belt are making her to feel like killing something soon.

"Use your scanner down there to scan if this place is safe..." Zyla flashes the light on an owl, and she watches as the owl turned its head 360° to the back.

"And do that fast" Zyla completes silently and she continued walking into the forest.

Then suddenly, a movement from behind her occurs swiftly.

Zyla stops walking. She tightens the sweater on her waist and adjusts her bag, placing it between her sweater and her body and tighten the sweater so it will stay put and not interrupt the fight she senses that is coming. The tube is plastic and not just the normal plastic that has been made. It's a clear polycarbonate plastic.

Her hand tightens on the handle of the sharpest yet smallest knife and she sighs deeply. The movement occurs again by her right-hand side and a corner of Zyla's lips rises.

Well... This looks dangerous.

She closes her eyes and focuses on the movements and the sensation that something is about to attack.

"Un lobo está detrás de ti, Zyla-(A wolf is behind you, Zyla)"

Zyla rolls her eyes, even if her eyes are closed. From the time she asked Janice to check if this place is safe, it's now she knows a wolf is behind her? Where does she come from anyway?

Zyla focuses wholeheartedly and her ears stand erect as she picks the sound of every movement made.

The wolf behind Zyla sneaks on her, no sound made because it is very careful of its steps.

The wolf steps on the rock closer to Zyla and jumps...

Its paws are ready to tear Zyla apart...

But...

Zyla spins around and holds the knife straight at it. It uses its throat to land on the knife held straight by Zyla in thin air.

The wolf stares at Zyla and Zyla does the same. Its pupils are like bold dots and its nose is wet.

It lets out a deep and sorrowful howl and Zyla immediately dragged her knife out of it, making the creature fall dead, to the ground.

"Cool one, babe" Carl's voice is heard over the ear deposit and Zyla says nothing in reply, nor do anything in the physical that results in liking him or anything.

"Don't call me that" she angrily says and switches off the ear deposit, alongside deactivating the chip in her blood, by pressing the hole they made on her body.

"I think you made her angry" Sonia says and Carl rolls his eyes. They have never been on good terms since they met anyway.

Zyla studies the dead wolf in front of her, staring in shock as the same green liquid in the tube flows out of it, having no bubbles though.

She dips her finger into the liquid and as she removes it, it draws and it stinks at the same time.

"Why didn't Janice tell me it's slimy, ugh!" she complains under her breath.

But, it is the same liquid in the tube she has? For real?

She needs to have an experiment on these two liquids, but she does not have a container. Zyla tears the sleeve of her right hand and places it just below the throat of the wolf as it flowed down. When she thought she had enough, she wrapped it up and tied it to a nut, placing it into a polycarbonate plastic protector in the bag, so that it won't burst accidentally.

She takes the liquids and then stands upright just for her ears to stand erect hearing another howl nearby.

Oh crap.

Zyla quickly walks out of that environment, hoping to not be sighted by the wolf that just howled.

One wolf howls by the right-hand side and so does one in front and one by her left-hand side.

She's stranded. They want her to go back to where she came from, or rather where she killed the other wolf.

Zyla turns back and...

Her eyes meet the eyes of a muscular wolf standing in front of her. It's black, with purple eyes.

"Oh shit"

Its savage eyes are erupting. But there's this feeling that's trapped in its eyes that is very rare and hard to explain.
