Invention!

*Splash*

"Satoshi! Wake up! It's already 9:00 in the morning!" Satoshi's mom splashed water on his face with magic to wake him up.

With a yawn, Satoshi got up and went to the backyard to pull water from the well.

"Fuuu...It's been two years, and I am still not used to this!" Satoshi thought while pulling the rope with his tiny hands through the lever.

He washed his face with the water and took a rock salt to clean his teeth.

"Satoshi! Where are you! Are you still sleeping?" his father's sound came from the living room as he just returned from the early morning farming.

"Coming!" he shouted. Wiping the water from his face, he stood in front of his father.

"Satoshi, you're already seven years old. Kids of your age have already started working on the farm. So tomorrow onwards I want you to come with me to work!" Logan said to his son.

"What? Impossible! It's difficult for me even to wake up at 9:00, but you're asking to work midnight at 4:00 clocks! Look at my tiny little hands aren't you feeling sad for them to do hard works!" Satoshi tried his cute card, but it didn't work in front of his father.

"What tiny little hands? And its early morning, not midnight!" Logan shouted.

"When you wake up at 4:00, do you see the sun on the sky?" he asked.

"No!"

"Okay, then do you see the sun at midnight?" he asked again.

"N..No..!"

"Then how is it different from Midnight?" Satoshi said.

"Hahhahaa.....!" laughing sound echoed from the kitchen.

Logan felt embarrassed by getting tongue-tied by his son.

He got up from the chair and said, "Okay fine! Then you will start working from midnight, not 4:00! Since they don't make any difference right!"

"You're joking right?" Satoshi happy expression got cramped after hearing this sentence.

Logan laughed at him and went without giving a reply.

"Moommm!" Satoshi jumped on his mom and started fake crying.

Even though she knew he was fake crying, she picked him up and said, "Honey! You're getting older as the days go by. You should also try to contribute something to the village just like others. Otherwise, they will talk behind your father's back for going easy on you! You don't want anyone to mock your father, right?"

Satoshi gave a mature sigh making Lisa doubt whether her son really is seven years old. It's not like Satoshi wasting his time doing nothing, but he was training the 33 sword stances of Pangu left by the Goddess. He's been spending at least 9 hours every day performing the stances, but still, he couldn't even perform the first stance. Sometimes he couldn't help but think whether the Goddess fooled him. Because of the privacy he mostly practices until midnight that's why he wakes up at 9:00.

"Wait a minute!" Suddenly Satoshi got an idea.

"Mom! Dad! So I am allowed to reset If I contribute to the village, right?" he asked.

Logan and Lisa looked at each other with doubtful expression and nodded their heads.

"As long as everyone acknowledges your contribution, you are allowed to do whatever you want!" Logan said.

"Deal!" Satoshi said and ran away with excitement.

"Hey, Siri! Search Manual Hand pumps on google!"

[Searching Manual Hand pumps on google.....]

Soon the browser containing google web page with pictures and websites about Manual Hand pumps popped out.

He clicked on the google images to search for blueprints of Hand pumps.

"Mm... it's so simple!" he thought. Hand pumps are the most sustainable low-cost method of drawing water from the ground. So this method looked feasible.

He sees everyday people walking to the river or to the public well to draw water. But if he builds something like this near every corner of the village, then the problem of transporting water can be solved. Unlike his family, the villagers aren't rich to dug out a well. So there is no choice but to resort to manual labor.

He chose pitcher pump type to enact his plan. Since suction pumps need the use of high machinery, he chose the easiest one.

He drew the blueprint in a square wood using ink and took it to the blacksmith's house.

"Old man, Roy, are you there?" Satoshi shouted from the door.

With a coughing sound, a sick looking young boy opened the door.

"Who are you calling as Oldman? Didn't I say not to call me like that?" the sickly young man shouted.

"Hey, Cool! Aren't you more than 1000 years old? I heard from my father that you're the oldest person in the whole village!" Satoshi replied with an innocent expression.

Roy facepalmed himself knowing no one can argue with this little brat.

"So why are you here for?" he asked with an annoyed expression.

Satoshi smiled and replied, "I just came with a new invention, so I thought sharing it with the most knowledgable person in the entire village!" he deliberately stressed the word Knowledgable person.

"Cough...Cough! So where is your invention? Show me!" his face had a little blush obviously Satoshi's flattery worked.

Roy invited him over to the living room and looked at his invention. Normally he would throw people out if they came saying that they come up with a design because mostly they would be either not feasible or very costly. But Satoshi is the only person in the village he acknowledges for intelligence, and everyone knows that.

Soon his whole body started shaking. Looking at the simplest but most effective invention, he was speechless. He had an urge to shout why didn't we think of this. The blueprint had a simple explanation with a crude drawing. There is a valve inside the pump that opens when pulled and sucks water inside and closes when pushed, so the water gets stuck inside and pushes out to another opening. It's a simple mechanic solution which can reduce much manual labor.

He looked at the innocent little face and sighed. Inventions like this just at the age of seven shows how terrifying the intelligence of the kid is.

"Sigh! Only If I had a disciple like this!" Roy thought.

"Satoshi, are you sure you want to give this to the village? If you sell it to the Towns or big merchants, you can become rich overnight!" Roy suggests while expecting the opposite. He didn't want him to sell it to the other towns and use it to develop their village.

"No! I don't want money! I want to use it for the good of our village people!" he acted like an innocent child untouched by the desires of the mundane world. Roy felt touched looking at the innocence of a pure heart.

Roy gladly took the blueprint and said, "Don't worry! I won't let your family take the loss! Using this invention 50% of the profit will be given to your father." Satoshi nodded.

"Actually, I need some help!" Satoshi tested the waters.

"Hahhaa. What is it? Tell me! If it is within my reach, I'll surely help you!" Roy said in an assured voice.

"I need 4 of your slaves and some Iron ores!" Satoshi asked politely as possible.

"Why do you need them?" Roy was confused.

"This... I'll tell you after tomorrow! It's for my other invention!" Satoshi said.

Roy smiled and accepted right away. Roy left his smithy house to Satoshi and went to arrange a meeting to discuss Satoshi's invention.

"Kid, what do you want us to do?" asked one of the slave.

Satoshi first asked them to collect iron ores and started the melting them in the furnace. After that, he instructed the slaves to create molds. With the experienced hands of the slaves, the work completed fastly.

"Fuuu....Finally finished!" Satoshi wiped off his sweat and looked at the various parts of molded iron. There were pipes, taps, shower head and couplers laying on the floor. Everything designed was relatively used in early ages on Earth, so the process was simple.

He took the slaves to carry the materials and brought them to his house. His father and mother left to work, so there wasn't anyone to disturb his work.

He took the biggest tub from his house and fixed it on the top of his house with a lid on the top. With the help of the slaves, he fitted the pipes on the wall in a relatively easy way. Finally, he finished fixing the pipes inside the kitchen and the bathroom. He returned the slaves after giving them some coins from his pocket money. The slaves returned happily after getting a tip from Satoshi.

He waited for his Mother and father to return, but he didn't know his inventions are causing a heavy discussion inside the village hall. They are thinking of patenting the inventions, but since the patent takes time, they fear aristocrats might push them to sell its rights. Without finalizing a solution, Logan and Lisa returned home.

But they didn't expect the surprise was waiting for them.

They found a big tub fitted on the roof of their house. They though Satoshi might be playing, but after seeing weird fitting of tubes inside the kitchen, they were speechless.

"Satoshi, what is this?" his mother Lisa asked him in confusion.

Satoshi replied with a mysterious expression and took her to the roof.

"Mom! Come with me to the roof! I need your help with something!" Lisa was confused but still went with him.

Logan easily lifted both of them to the roof. He then asked her to draw a self-acting magic circle just like the one she did it with him to stop him from leaving the house.

Lisa was confused why her son wanted her to draw a magic circle which refills water inside the tub automatically. But she complied since her son gave them a big surprise today and they were very proud of it.

"Mom turn this tap to the right side!" he asked Lisa. Lisa did the same and had a pleasant surprise.

"Wait! This...." Logan was also surprised.

Water directly flowed through the tub and filled the sink with dirty plates. Both of them felt the usefulness of his invention.

Lisa pulled Satoshi to a hug and kissed on his cheeks. "I never knew my son was a genius!" she commented. Logan also nodded with a proud expression on his face.

Satoshi felt his plan succeed, "Father, so according to the village, can this be accepted as a contribution!"

Logan didn't feel angry now; he laughed joyously "hahaha.....! Now I know you're a genius there is no need for you to do labor works. Just promise me that you will help me in the village hall twice a week and I'll leave you alone."

Satoshi felt disappointed that he still has to work but felt twice a week was doable, so he accepted his father's decision.
