Death

"Ah, what a nice morning it is to wake up and feel the warmth of the sun as it shines down on me." Says a young man, no older than nineteen, as he stands outside on the balcony of his apartment.

The young dark-haired man, sporting short hair with parted bangs on both sides of his face. Standing at about six feet, wearing a simple t-shirt and some basketball shorts, he stretches as the sun highlights his body, casting a long shadow.

After stretching, the young man walks back inside, going into the kitchen with a steady step. The apartment has a minimalist feel to it as the young man appears not to have many belongings and only keeps what he deems most important.

Inside the kitchen, the young man can be seen opening a box of cereal and pouring it into an empty paper bowl before grabbing milk and pouring that over the cereal. With both ingredients now mixed together in an easy, delicious breakfast, the young man sits at the counter on a stool while calmly eating his cereal.

With no TV to watch and no newspaper to read, the man stews in his thoughts to keep him entertained as he dines on his simple breakfast. Once, he slurps the milk from the bowl, leaving not a drop behind. He gets up and puts the bowl in the trash; he then takes a quick shower to wash off the filth from his body.

Stepping out, his wet body dripping with water, he grabs a towel to dry off. His body is slim with defined muscles, showing he works out regularly yet not often, only enough to stay in shape.

Ring! Ring! Ring! Ring!

The chimes of a ringing phone can be heard as he dresses himself after having washed, coming from the bedroom. Quickly walking towards the ringing phone, showing clear surprise on his face once he sees who it is.

"Mother?" He questioningly asks upon picking up the phone.

"Arthur, you need to get out now!" A mature woman's voice desperately sounds through the speakers of the phone.

"Huh, what are y-" The young man starts to ask, yet is interrupted by intense shaking and loud ripping sound drawing his attention away from the phone.

A moment later, the entire building cracks open as the left side of the building splits off from the rest, quickly collapsing down. This just so happened to be the side on which the young man stood.

Dropping his phone as he stumbles and falls over from the intense movement of the building as it collapses. And then the young man is no more, as his tumble over sent him directly over the edge, where the building had split in half.

"Arthur! Did you get out in time? Answer me, son, please! Arthur, are you there?! Oh no, please no! Please, God, not my son! I beg of you! I-" The last sounds heard from the phone before it is crushed in the rubble, leaving nothing behind but death and destruction.

The only sounds now painting the area are of the screaming of people and wailing of sirens, as a disaster has just struck this residential area, having collapsed three apartments and a few local businesses on this street.

Yet later on the news, it will be reported, miraculously, only a single death has been confirmed from this disaster, though many were injured. The young man who died is known as Arthur Haze, the only casualty of this horrific disaster.

And now, the very same man who had died in this tragic disaster is now seated before a majestic throne in a grand hall with a bright light adorning the surroundings. And sitting on this majestic throne is an old man with long gray hair flowing down his head, lying on his shoulders. Though old, this man radiates a suffocating aura that prevents Arthur from even holding eye contact or speaking out.

"Arthur Haze, son of a woman named Izellia Nuburn, now going under the last name Haze from your father. Welcome to my realm." The elderly man speaks as he lessens his aura, enough for Arthur to move his head and speak, though not enough to get up from his seated position.

"Didn't I die? Why am I here? Is this hell, are you Satan?" Arthur asks inquisitively.

"Yes. I will get to that. No, and No." The elderly man answers calmly.

"I am a God, the God of Life, Light, and Law. Not a God of your world, though, a God of another world known as Svastal." He explains.

"Then why am I here? Shouldn't I be maybe speaking with a God from my World?" Arthur asks.

" Well, I brought you here. I also caused the disaster that killed you, and well, let's not talk about the Gods of your world; that is complicated." He chuckles still with a smile on his face.

"What?! Why would you kill me and then bring me here?!" Arthur yells angrily.

"Heh, mind yourself. You are before a God. I killed you part of a contract. Your mother is originally from my world and sought refuge from her past, so she pleaded with me to be sent to another world to start over. I granted it, and part of the contract stated that she would owe me later on. And now I have come to collect. Collect you specifically." The God states with a playful smirk on his face.

"Oh, by the way, my name is Zilfreed. So, I will be sending you into my world. Any more questions?" The God continues on.

"YES! Just why would you bring me into your world? I liked my life very much, and didn't ask for this! Can I go back?!" Arthur asks desperately.

"Hmph, why, well, for entertainment, obviously. The mortals of my world aren't the most interesting potatoes in the sack, so I thought this contract was perfect to bring in outside entertainment. And no, you can't go back, and I don't care for your thoughts on the matter. What can you, a mere mortal, do anyways." The God scoffs and waves off Arthur's desperate cries.

"Enough, I bore of your useless prattling. Off you go, into the world."

"WAIT?! Do I at least get any special abilities or skills or anything to help me?" Arthur pleads.

"Heh, nope! You will only get this Autonomous Guide System, which is only there to help answer questions so you can understand the world you are in. Now give us a good show, will ya." The God says before waving his hand, and Arthur disappears.
