9 Chapter 8

"My name is Demise Builder" the man in front of us introduced himself ..

His voice was so cold, even colder than the way he looked at me earlier.

"What do you want us to call you?" Mr. Pangilinan asked him.

"You can call me Demi." he replied then put his two hands back in his pocket.

"What do you like?" Mr. Pangilinan asked him again.

I do not take my eyes off him but I can hear the whispers of my classmates.

As usual, they are attracted to the appearance of this newcomer.

Even Ahyeza, I can hear her saying that he is handsome, well I am not denying that he is attractive especially his blue eyes, but I really don't like his aura. I am not comfortable with him especially the way he looked at me.

There’s something wrong…

"Is it important?" he asked back

"Well, that's part of what we called INTRODUCE YOURSELF" Mr. Pangilinan said.

"Psh. My name is Demise Builder, I am 16 years old. My hobby? nothing." he repeated the introduction as if it was very difficult for him to speak.

"You speak so sparingly, you may take your seat now."Mr. Pangilinan said,

He bowed to all of us before going to the vacant seat in the back.

I followed his gaze until he sat down. When we looked at each other again, I immediately averted my eyes and just prepared to listen to Mr. Pangilinan.

"You don't need to do that Demi" Mr. Pangilinan said that's why we all looked at Demi.

"Do what?"

"That bow thing,"

"I'm used to it."

"Okay if you say so, Class open your book on page 15, let's start our discussion."

We obeyed his command, we took our science book and opened it to the page he said.

Page 15, our topic today is about Light. It's easy but it's hard to do, especially those convex and concave mirrors.

Somehow the class went smoothly, except when Mr. Pangilinan have a hard time in waking Demi up bacause he is sleeping.

Come and think of it, it is the first day in here and then he will just sleep in Mr. Pangilinan's class?

"Mr. Builder, who told you that you can sleep during my class time?"

Mr. Pangilinan said when Demi woke up.

"It was your first day in my class and then you will sleep right away? Who do you think you are?"

He is just obviously controlling his anger.

Instead of answering politely, Demi just plant a bored look to Mr. Pangilinan.

"STAND UP!" Mr. Pangilinan shouted.

Demi sigh before standing up without looking at Mr. Pangilinan

"Why are you here at this school?" Mr. Pangilinan asked Demi.

I looked at the fist of Demi, it looks like he's also controlling his temper.

"ANSWER ME!"

Mr. Pangilinan shouted as he dropped the book at the table, creating a loud sound.

Me and my classmates are shocked because in my past years in this school, I didn't saw Mr. Pangilinan shouted and became angry like this.

To be honest, Mr. pangilinan is not affected before when some of my classmates are not listening or just sleeping in his class.

He knows that my classmates will not take school seriously, but know, he act like he didn't know a thing.

he must know that Demi, will also not going to study seriously, that's why he is in this section.

"You, why are you here?" Demi asked back.

Can't he just answer politely? He's just making Mr. Pangilinan angrier.

"I'm here becuase I'm teaching, I'm here to help the students." Mr. Pangilinan answer proudly.

"Hmmm, I see. You're teaching a student." he answered like he didn't care at all.

"You, why are you here at school?" Mr. pangilinan asked him again.

"I thought you're here at this school to teach the students." Demi didn't asked. He stated.

"Yes"

"Then why are you asking me?" Demi speak again

"If you are here to teach students, you should know what they need. And that is to learn, of course I am also a student so I need the same. Learning is the reason why I am here at school."

that was probably the longest word I heard from Demi, because earlier he seemed to be very frugal in speaking so I was surprised when he spoke that long.

"So your saying that you are here in school because you want to learn. Then why are you sleeping in time of my class?" seriously? when will they stop?

"Because I want to" he's back in being bored.

"You want to, hmmm. I see, maybe you know our lesson now so you prefer to sleep." Mr. Pangilinan stated

"I'm not going to sleep if not."

I can feel the tension between them, and I'm starting to think that this will lead to fight.

"So, Mr. Builder... since you already know our lesson, why don't you come here in front and start discussing." it's Mr. Pangilinan again

"It's your duty, why don't you do it." this time, it's Demi who stated

"Well, it is also my duty to see if the student is really learning. Once you have proven that you really know the lesson, it is up to you to decide what we will do next."

Mr. Pangilinan give way when Demi reach the black board and face us. His both hands are still in his pockets and sigh before he start talking.

"Light is the only electromagnetic energy that we can see." he said.

"tha's all? you don't know anything else?" Mr. Pangilinan interfer.

"I'm not even starting, shut up"

My classmates reacted at what he said.

Looks like Demi doesn't even care if Mr. Pangilinan is mad at him. He just sigh before talking again.

"Do you ever wonder why and how the mirror forms image?" he asked us.

No one try to answer, even if I know the answer, I didn't answer, I just want to watch him. I'm not in the modd to talk or even speak.

"Mirrors are not the one who actually form images, it's because of the light. Do you think, why do we see nothing when it's dark?" he asked again.

"Because there's no light" Janssen asnwered

"Exactly. Mirrors only forms image because of the light, no light no image. When the incoming light or what we called the angle of incidence and the reflected light or what we called the angle of reflection are equal, an image can be formed. That is what indicated to the law of releflection." he cleared his throat before proceeding again.

"Now let's talk about the Concave and Convex mirrors, any ideas?"

"Convex curved outward while concave curves inward." this time it's Liander who answered.

"Correct, Convex scattered light while Concave gathers light that's the reason why the image in Convex mirrors appears smaller and the image in concave mirrors appears upside down. Our lesson for today is just easy"

He cut off what he was supposed to say and looked at Mr. Pangilinan before speaking again.

"I guess I have proven that I really know your lesson, better that you know." he smirked not removing his gaze to Mr. Pangilinan.

"Class... dismiss." he said and he went out first.

My classmates also left while me, Ahyeza, Janssen, Amos, Liander, Lancer and Mr. Pangilinan,we were left speechless inside the classroom.

What did just Demi did?
