13 Chapter 12

We just finished our third subject today, I thought at first our english subject would be a disaster but it looks like I made a mistake because Miss Marnie is in good mood now.

The discussion was straightforward.

No activity.

No performances.

And thank goodness she didn't get angry.

I am here at the teachers table now, I plan to talk to them about the contest. I have to give to dean the name tomorrow.

"Hey." I called them but they ignored me.

"Hey!" I called them louder but they still ignored me.

"HEY!" I shouted at them so they ignored me.

"Pay attention to me, why do you still need to pretend like you al didn't hear me?" I asked them.

"What do you need ?!" JP, one of my male classmates, asked me angrily.

I let out a deep breath and looked at him.

"Are you shouting at me?" I will ask

"n-no." he replied

I secretly smiled at his attitude, does he think I will hurt him? I will not do that.

"Sit down first, I need to talk to you." they all seem to be surprised by my attitude, I have been with them for a few years but only now have I been like this to them.

Because I don't talk to them and Ahyeza is the only one I really close to at school, she is the only one who can handle my behavior.

"What did you eat and you want to talk to us?" Harry asked, our class president since we were in grade 7.

After all, he is the most sensible person in this class, maybe he is here in this section because of his grades, but he is good at sports, he just really failed in academics.

"Do I need to eat something before I talk to all of you?" I asked sarcastically.

"You don't talk to us unless that's important, what do you want to say? Spill the beans." Jennifer interfere, she is the muse in this class. She quite have that bad attitude towards me, but I like her compared to Maui.

"Dean talk to me earlier, she want me to pick a student who will participate for the contest." I announced to them.

Harry laugh slightly befor commenting on what I said.

"Student here at section C? for a contest? are you kidding me?" he said and they all laugh.

I just rolled my eyes at them.

"Stop laughing because I'm dead serious." I said while blankly looking at them.

They followed my order, they stopped laughing but there were still traces on their faces that they did not believe what I said.

" You all know the UWC right?" I asked them and they all answer "Yes."

"Our school is now allowed to participate in that contest." most of my classmates reacted at what I say, some are shocked, some are happy, while some don't really care.

"I need one representative, dean want to have the name tomorrow. Anyone want to volunteer?"

I'm just speculating that someone might want to volunteer, even if it's impossible for that to happen.

The extreme silence filled the room, No one answer me when I asked if anyone want to volunteer. As expected, no one would volunteer from them.

"No one? come on guys, dean will be disappointed with us." encouraging them is the way I know now so that they will be able to join the contest, but it looks like the trick I use is no use.

They didn't answer me, they turned their backs on me as if I had said nothing to them.

They came out one by one because it was lunch break while me? I am still here at the teacher's tablestill thinking on how am I going to convince one of them to join the contest! Damn it!

"Hey, don't you want to eat lunch?" my mind returned to sanity when Ahyeza talked me.

"I'm not in the mood to eat." I simply reply

"Pfft. really? you? oh no Alexis, don't fool me I know that you want to eat, come on... continue thinking once we reach the cafeteria."

I did nothing but join her in the cafeteria. As usual, I sat in the vacant seat and she bought our food.

After a while, Ahyeza returned with our food.

"Here you go! Your lasagna and pizza for our lunch" Ahyeza eagerly laid our food on the table.

I just sighed at what she bought, next time I won't allow her to buy our food. Is this lunch for her? it's just like a snack to me.

"Alexis, what are your plans for what the dean is asking you to do?" Ahyeza suddenly asked me so my mind came back thinking my problem again.

Why would I forget that I still need to find a contestant?

"I do not know, I will try to talk to them again la-"

"Well, well, well... look who's here" a voice interrupted what I was about to say.

I turned to the dirction where the voice came from and I saw Maui standing behindi me with her arms crossed over her chest.

"Do you think that I'm done with you?" she said and look at her friends and then smirked at me.

I just raised my eyebrow at what she said. What is she talking about?

"What? are you scared now?" Maui asked me confidently. Let see if she still have that kind of confident when I start talking to her.

"Ohh poor you, Where is your gangster attitude now? Why don't you sho-"

Maui stopped talking when I stood up. She step backward a little bit because of what I did.

"Tss. why did you stopped talking?" I arrogantly asked her. She looks scared.

"Ow, why are you shaking? are you scared that I might hit you?"

Seriously? am I really that scary when fighting vocally and physically? or she's just over reacting ?

Rumors filled the entire cafeteria, the other grade 10 students here are also watching at the both of us. Fortunately, there is no other grade level because it is only Grade 10 students who have the break time in this time.

The students' earlier whispers got a little louder when the cafeteria door rang, signal that someone entered the cafeteria.

My eyes landed on the group of men who entered the cafeteria.

Psh. of course, it was the Matteo's.

"AHHHHH!! HELP ME! ALEXIS IS HURTING ME" I am very shocked when Maui shouted, the attention of the students here are all on me because of what she said.

Even the Matteo's are looking at me.

"Janssen, help me. It really hurts" she said with a puppy eyes.

"The heck are you talking about?" I asked her, it is really obvious that she's only acting because I never laid my hands on her, but what the-? does she really need to said that?

"She threatened me, then pointed a knife at me as well."she added.

Janssen walks toward us together with Liander, lancer and Amos at his back.

"It hurts?" Janssen asked Maui.

Wait, he should be at my side right? he's protecting me? but why does he looks like he really care for Maui?!

"Where does it hurts? tell me?" he said and and looked aroud Maui's body.

"Here," she said and then poit her arms and neck. What the-? I just rolled my eyes at the situation now.

"Why did you hurt her?" Janssen asked me.

Something flinched in my heart when he asked me that question, it looks like he is really sure that I hurt Maui...

"Why are you asking?" I asked back trying not to mind the unknown pain in my chest.

"I'm asking because you hurt her, how dare you to hurt a student like her!" I was shocked when he shouted, I didn't see that coming.

My heartbeat became fast, I try to calm myself and it works a bit.

"What if I did? are you going to hurt me too?" I don't know where did I get that...

I am scared that he will hurt me, for some unknown reasons my eyes watered.

Oh No! Alexis why are you like this?! Dammit! you're a brave woman. Don't be affected like that! you don't even like that guy!

"You know what?" I stepped closer to him

"Before you shout like that make sure that you know the whole story" I said and look at Maui.

"And you.Before you act like you are being oppressed, make sure first that what you are saying is correct, next time check if there is a knife in here before you say that I am threatening you with a knife. And don't worry, I won't fight you physically because I don't shoot people like you. You are not worth it. "I said and turned around to go out to the cafeteria. I felt Ahyeza follow me.

When I came out of the caferetia I let out my breath, now I feel more pain in my chest.

Pain because I was hurt by what Janssen did and pain because my chest literally hurt.
