+29 Swordmage

The man with his fading silver aura was standing infront of me but the only thing I could think was about my sub quest.

'My sub quest , the time limit is about to be I've to quickly complete it.'

He pulled me up back on my feet and asked me ,

"What were you doing here in Forest of Kin?"

Ignoring his question I cleaned my robe and and glanced in the direction of the Garfon's who now were returning to the hunting grounds. I calmed myself and threw my dagger towards the Garfon with lowest HP I could see.

"Cut"

The dagger wasn't precisely aimed at any vital points but it was able to stab it in the Garfon's abdomen. The clash between the 2 men decreased my HP just by being close to them , same went for the Garfon's which made it easier for me to kill the last one. After taking down the lvl 1 Garfon couple of messages appeared before.

「 You've gained 219 Exp Points 」

「 Sub Quest <Kill the Monsters> have been completed 」

'Nice I hope it's a physical attack skill as I don't have that much of them.'

I remembered my plan of investing in Intelligence and Agility but the situation wasn't the best for me to invest my points in Intelligence. While fighting Garfon's I didn't have a lot of magic skills because of that I couldn't use magic freely.

'If I hadn't increase my Strength and use basic attack I don't think I could've survived the quest.'

Just as I was thinking that a hand reached out to my shoulder from my back to get my attention.

"Do I have to repeat my question? What were you doing here? A low level like you shouldn't be roaming in Forest of Kin."

The man before me looked like Noble his way of speaking didn't really sound like someone who is a Noble , but looking at his clothes and the way he fought were only befitting of a Noble.

"Hey , can't you hear me? I'm asking something."

"Oh , sorry I was just thinking something. How do you know about levels?"

'Do all the NPC know about level?'

"Huh!? Isn't it obvious? Did you even graduate through Xerus Academy to hunt these monsters?"

Xerus Academy managed by the Serven Family was the only Academy in the whole kingdom. The academy was divided into parts based on classes their was Xerus Mage Academy , Smithy Academy , Warrior Academy and for the Cleric class was Xerus Church.

"Oh sorry I accidentally got lost here while killing those Garfon's."

Orange hair colour was hard to find in the whole Kingdom it was special trait of Serven Family. The story I heard in market said that Serven Family was well-known for their Fire attribute. The Fire attribute had so much Influence on them that their hair colour was affected by it and changed to orange.

'If he is really from Serven Family I can use.'

Thinking that I started trying to friend him , his attitude wasn't bad just a straight forward meathead that was my impression of him. He said what he wanted to say without acting like a Noble , just like Rin.

"Why were you so desperate to kill that last Garfon? Ignoring my question do you know who I am?"

"Ah , I wanted to level up quicker my level is still low. I'm really sorry for ignoring your words , sir."

It was easy to fool any noble , when it came to Noble you just needed to act respectful towards them their pride was their weakness. I was still wearing the demon mask and was not planning to remove it even if he ordered me. He stared at my face for some reason.

"Hey do you want to become strong that badly?"

"Who doesn't want to be strong?"

'Isn't it obvious everybody wants to be strong for their own gain. Isn't that how it works in this world?'

"Do you really want to be strong? Pathetically killing the Garfon with that dagger of yours , do you really want to be strong?"

"Huh!? Isn't that why I'm doing this?"

Hearing my words I could see the anger on his face , he looked at me with his brown eyes and said.

"What was that sh*tty throwing technique? has Xerus Academy stoop this low for them to teach such bad techniques. Looks like I've to pay them a visit tomorrow. What is your class?"

"Oh that technique wasn't the academy's fault I didn't graduate from Xerus and my class is Mage so my daggers attacks are not that good."

His both eyebrows raised hearing that I was fighting using dagger being a Mage.

'Are their no swordmage in this kingdom?'

"Which retainer's family are you from is it Rakul or Jered?"

'Retainer family? does retaining family have some kind of technique which helped using swords with magic?'

"Oh I'm not from any noble or retainer's family , I'm just a normal adventurer."

He started laughing after hearing my words , after laughing for few seconds he finally opened his mouth.

"Do you really believe you're capable of being a swordmage? It take years for a retainer to become a swordmage and after becoming they again have to train in their swordmage body. You think increasing your strength and swinging dagger while using magic is going to help you?"

After laughing for a minute he finally stopped , he looked more serious this time.

"Even I couldn't become a swordmage , not only me since Mercedes Serven none of his successor have been able to become a swordmage. Since we can't just let our swordmage techniques out we are still holding onto them , hoping that the next successor will become a swordmage."

"Only retainer's are able to become a swordmage now. And you think you could just become one by this kind of training? Their are steps to a process Mana Control , Mana Fusing , Aura Glowing and many more"

'Oh so this is the story behind Serven Swordmages. So their are steps to become a swordmage , I thought I could just earn the class like reward to some kind of quest.'

I heard the name 'Mercedes' last time in version 1.1 when Rin told me the story. I didn't know that he was from noble family , he was able to silence the human domination and created the Inter-species law which bloomed the Serven territory.

"It looks like you haven't become a swordmage yet , what stage are you on?"

"I've been on Aura Glowing for 3 year now , get it how hard becoming swordmage is. Our Serven family's technique is so powerful that successor's before me couldn't handle it."

'He must be one of those failed Noble kid , well atleast he's useful.'

By what I meant by 'useful' was that I can get a class quest out of him. If I convince him that I can become swordmage then- , but it'll be hard to convince him.

"What if I was able to become a swordmage? Will you give me a chance?"

He chuckled a bit and replied ,

"A chance huh. Sure why not , you're the first one to say something like this infront of me. I'll respect your guts and give you a chance but if you can't become one in 3 month's then you'll be beheaded. We can't just let some failure have the knowledge of Serven swordmage."

'I was luckily the first one but after global release if they made getting swordmage this easy , then I've to find a better class.'
