Chapter 7: Tier 1

"Woohoooo!"

Quinn yelled in excitement as he soared to the skies. Although in reality, he was just hovering 1 meter above the ground. He tried pushing himself forwards but found that he could only move at a snail's speed.

"No worries, I can max it out after a few minutes of use."

Right now, he was losing tens of mana per second since part of the mana used were already being recovered. He can probably do this the whole day before running out of mana. And that's not mentioning how the mana consumption gets reduced after levelling up.

Quinn just stayed in the air and hovered around like a fly before feeling himself start to pick up a bit of speed. He smiled to himself then said, "Hmmm... can I sleep like this?"

Quinn did some quick maths and found that according to his current consumption, it would take him until near midnight to run out of mana. However, by that time, the spell would have already been maxed out and could probably reach until morning.

Quinn nodded at his genius idea. But before doing that, he first checked the forums again and saw that the rate of the swords being bought were very slowly starting to speed up.

"Looks like I'm not the only one improving."

That's good too, since the stronger the others were, the more resources would pop up in the trading area of the forums. At the same time, Quinn wasn't really scared of others surpassing him. Can others pull out valuable blueprints out of their asses like he can?

Ahem...

Quinn's face, that was watching others grow stronger, looked exactly like a farmer that was watching his crops grow. "Yes, grow some more so I can harvest more."

After closing the forums, he was finally ready to sleep. Quinn checked quickly the levitation spell and saw that it levelled up when he was browsing the forums. He then closed his personal status screen before going back down on the ground.

Quinn was too lazy to do the exact math, so he just turned off the spell for a while and wait for his mana to fully recover. This way, he would be sure that the spell would still be active in the morning.

After fully recovering after a few minutes, Quinn lifted himself back into the air before finally closing his eyes. After all the excitement today, he was mentally tired and was able to go the dreamland shortly.

The next morning...

A ray of sunlight from the rising sun travelled its way and landed on Quinn's face and the sudden brightness woke him up.

Quinn opened his eyes before squinting it again due to the brightness. After averting his gaze, he let out the best yawn he had in a long time. He stretched his limbs before comfortably sniffed the fresh air that he couldn't smell back on Earth.

Right now, this beautiful world looked even more beautiful to Quinn after realizing that he was already out of harm's way.

Quinn checked his mana reserves and saw that barely a hundred mp was left. He then checked the spell's information and saw that it was already max as he expected. The mana consumption was greatly reduced too. Because of his mana recovery rate, he was barely losing mana at this point.

After that, Quinn looked at his level and saw that it was already level 9. He only needed to reach level 11 and he would ascend to Tier 1. According to the beginner's guide, once we reach Tier 1, mana quality would greatly improve. Furthermore, there will be a few improvements here and there.

Quinn checked the forums first and saw that he only needed a bit more before he'll have everything he'll need. Turns out a lot have actually been working overtime to get resources as much as possible and as early as possible. After buying from him, they sped up even further to get more resources to trade for some more items. Right now, the overall strength has been increased slightly just because of Quinn's post. He could see a few that are already able to sell food and some were even selling blueprints.

If this continues for a few days, Quinn could probably start selling luxury items and many would able to buy it. Speaking of luxury items, Quinn decided to hold off building the mansion until he reached Tier 1. He wanted to see what changes the mansion will have after reaching Tier 1. However, he'll probably need some extra materials. Although he didn't know what he'll need in later on, he planned to sell some more swords and raise the overall strength further and increase the number of people able to explore on their own.

Quinn quickly went into action and got a few hundred iron before making them into swords using a blueprint he made for swords. Before long, a few tens were already bought. It would probably only take a few hours this time to sell out all the swords since a few rich people were already starting to pop up.

While waiting for the swords to get sold out, he decided to start grinding. Quinn flew towards the forest at an average person's running speed. Although he could run faster than this ever since he raised his attributes, he would still rather fly. Why the fuck would he run when he could fly.

Next, Quinn just flew around the forest like a little bird and whenever he spotted prey, he would dive down and cut them with a [Slash]. He had also encountered the same wolf he saw before and this time, it was with its pack. Quinn was fearless this time since they can't even touch him.

So, Quinn cut the wolves down one by one and they had no choice but to watch as their own turns came. Actually, wolves could be barely considered Intelligent Beings since they know how to stay in groups. It's just that they acted more like Savage Beasts and even when they were being slaughtered, they still didn't know when to run.

The wolf pack was able to raise Quinn's level one time. He quickly swept through the loot before moving on to the next target. He still need a level to ascend to Tier 1 after all.

Finally, after a few more hours of grinding, Quinn finally raised his level to level 11 and reached Tier 1. He suddenly felt a great surge of strength wash over his body. He also saw that the originally colorless mana inside of him slowly turn red. This was one of the indications for Tier 1, red mana. Starting from Tier 1 to Tier 10, mana changes into Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet, White, Gold, Void Black.

As he was studying his changes, an announcement suddenly rang out in his ears

"Tribal Era? Tribal Chief? Elemental stones?"

Quinn then clicked on the new terms and a bunch of information popped up.

Fire elemental stones: Stones condensed from fire elements.

Water elemental stones: Stones condensed from water elements.

Wind elemental stones: Stones condensed from wind elements.

Quinn was greatly excited at being able to rule over the kingdom.

Before that, he has to check all the details about Tier 1. The guide only revealed a few information. They had to reach Tier 1 first before the information would be revealed to them.

First was what already Quinn knew, his mana became red. It wasn't just the color that changed. The quality and the amount of energy increased. Using 1 red mp would be equivalent to 10 normal mp. Because of this, even normal people can use Tier 0 skills indefinitely after reaching Tier 1, much less Quinn with his monstrous mana regen. and mana pool.

After getting red mana, it would also raise the biological ranking of someone. The higher tiers emit a terrifying aura that would always suppress those of a lower tier. Unless one had attributes that could completely overwhelm the higher tiers, lower tiers usually find it impossible to fight against a higher tier.

Another is the reason why Quinn's skill were unable to level up after level 10. It was because Tier 1 skills require red mana. You can use red mana to replace normal mana in using Tier 0 skills but not the other way around. Tier 1 skills all require red mana to activate.

Now, Quinn can continue levelling his skills up and when they reach Tier 1, they can undergo small evolutions.

Of course, one of the most important additions was the opening of the Tribal era. With this, Quinn can start building his own territory which would probably evolve into his own kingdom as he reaches the later stages.

Quinn was happy for a moment before he got troubled shy something. "I know a bit of kingdom building but I'm not really good at it." Back on Earth, he really liked those games on kingdom and empire building, conquering games. He would usually gain strength rapidly in the early stages especially since his territory would still be small and he was able to manage them easily. But during the later stages where things would become more complicated, he would usually never reach the end.

Quinn was worried his kingdom here would be the same. After worrying for a while, he threw his thoughts at the back of his head. He would worry about them when the time comes.
