17 Festival (1)

Alex wakes up and dresses up for a new day. Today was a special day, because there was a festival tonight. The reason he was cutting down the tree yesterday was to help the people of the town gather materials for it.

The Festival was to celebrate the founding of the town as well as to pay respects to all its leaders. Many people came every year, so it was a good place to make some new friends and socialize with the community.

Alex never went but this time was special. This year, Yui had asked him to go with her. Throughout the years he had been on Centorih, this was the most stressful day for him. After all, he had never been asked to go somewhere with a girl before, both past and present lives.

Alex walked out of his house and locked the door. He walked down the streets while greeting the people around him.

When he stood in front of his destination, he saw the sign of the shop.

'Hariu's Fashion Shop'

When he had walked in, the workers greeted him. He walked around and found the clothes he needed. Although there were cultivators in this world, the fashion was pretty much the same. The only thing that was not up to date was the technology. He wanted to buy a tuxedo but he liked the robes cultivators wore as their designs were better.

The entire trip had costed him a tier-1 spiritual stone which is basically 100 gold coins. Cultivators used spiritual stones as their currency instead of coins because they held different amounts of qi depending on the stone's tier which are more useful to them. They were seperated into 10 different tiers. From Tier-1 to Tier-10. The amount of qi stored increase tenfold each tier.

Returning home from the shop, Alex placed down the clothes.

"Celestine, can you cut my hair."

Air blades were formed and cut his hair. His hair was still long as it reached his hips. Alex looked at himself a mirror and saw that his skin was as smooth as a jade. This was due to his cultivation. When he had first absorbed qi into his body, the impurities in his body were released through his pores. Since then, 5 years has passed, so he decided to expel the impurities that have been accumulating in him.

He first went to the shower and prepared to clean himself. Alex still remembered the black liquid and the horrible smell that came after expelling the impurities.

When Alex got out of the shower, he cooked himself a meal. He looked out the window and saw that was night. The sun was slowly descending towards the horizon. Alex got up and dressed himself.

He wore a white-blue robe. It was when he looked at himself, he had just remembered something vital... He couldn't dance. He remembered seeing Yui practicing dances for the past week. Although she hid it from him, with his 'Infinite Soul Convergence', he had seen everything around him.

Dancing was the a big part of the festival. Normal people would be helpless during these types of situations but he had the system and it's original function is to allow the Host to create skills.

Alex started mimicking the movements he saw Yui do and after a minute, he saw a notification.

Alex awkwardly changed the subject realizing that he said something weird. He talked to Celestine for a bit and headed to Yui's house with a box in his hand.

The box was a gift he had bought selling the corpses of the beast he had hunted. He had been hunting for a while and the forest and the living creatures within submitted to him.

He had only hunted the ones who had gone rogue as he didn't want to kill the ones that already submitted to his rule over the forest. He had not gotten a title from it because according to Celestine, he had only conquered a small part of the forest. To be a little more specific, 1% of the forest. He had once checked the biggest map of the area around them and found that the forest stretched more than 500 kilometers. That was a massive amount of land.

He had arrived in front of Yui's house and took a deep breath. He then knocked on the door. When the door opened, Alex saw Yui in beautiful blue clothes. Her slender legs smooth legs were showed. The wind blew against her robes making them lift up a bit and flowing back down.

"Hey, Alex!" Yui said while running up to him and hugging him.

"Hello, Yui!" Alex patted Yui's head while looking at her. The way she was snuggling within his embrace made him feel that she had become a kitten.

He then saw the Old Man behind her in formal clothes. He then teased him.

"Old Man, since when did people hire butlers as ugly as you. Hehehe"

The Old Man's lip twitched as he appeared behind Alex and slapped his back harder than usual and laughed it off as if nothing happened.

"Hahaha"

Alex's face darkened when he read that. He decided to get revenge on the old man as soon as he's strong enough.

The old man then saw the box within Alex's hand and understood. He then left saying "I'll meet the both of you at the Festival.".

Alex had understood his intentions. Alex then walked in the house with Yui and they both sat beside each other. Alex then gave her the box.

"What's this?" She asked in confusion.

"It's a gift that I bought for you!" Alex replied immediately as if he had scripted his speech.

"The gift is inside. You can open it now or later if you want." Alex continued while his way of talking slowly returned to normal.

Yui looked curiously at the box and examined it. It was black and had a drawing of a Phoenix carved on it. The red color matched the black making it eye-catching.

She slowly opened the box and saw a necklace. She then felt the surrounding qi gathering towards it. Her eyes lit up and she looked at Alex.

Alex, who saw her expression, nodded. Alex was capable of setting formation after all. He then explained "The qi gathering formation will allow you to gather qi quickly and also power the Earth-Grade Defensive Formation. The defensive formation can be used once a day and when it is used I will know and I will come to you as fast as I can. If it is a false alarm, just add you qi to it for 3 seconds."

Yui's eyes reddened and she forced herself not to cry. She then told Alex with a blush on her face "Put in on for me".

Alex was surprised and then smiled. He took the necklace and put around Yui's neck. The necklace shook and glowed a golden color meaning it acknowledge Yui as its owner. Alex then remembered something important about the necklace and he added "Oh yeah! Yui, the necklace is also a Spacial Treasure. The space within is about 10 cubic meters."

Yui nodded with a smile and placed her hand gently around the necklace.

Seeing that she was happy, Alex stood up from his seat and held out his hand "Shall we go?"

Yui chuckled cutely and held Alex's hand. Alex pulled her up and they headed towards the door. They closed the door behind them and walked towards the festival.

While they were walking, they talked and laughed with each other. Suddenly, a carriage abruptly came beside them. The person inside was Shen Fei.

He opened the window and said "My dear Yui, isn't it cold? You can come in if you want.". His face was full of pride as held out his hand.

Yui then looked at Alex's indifferent face and responded politely "No thank you.".

Shen Fei also looked at Alex with disdain and returned a gentle smile to Yui saying "My dear, Alex can not go very far in life. On the other hand, I have already been accepted by the Sampelburg's Institute of Cultivation(SIC). As long as I complete a mission a month, the reward given to me can feed a family of 5 for 3 years. My future is limitless. I even get a personal carriage".

"No thank you!" Yui responded immediately. She hated the type of guy who tried to influence others with their assets. She liked Alex more for his calm attitude towards most situations and when he became stressed, he was almost adorable.

Shen Fei's face darkened and he snorted. He closed the window of his carriage and left ahead of them.

Yui then started to become cold and she shivered. Alex, who had amazing soul power, saw this and chucked. He stopped walking and told Yui to stay beside him. He then flicked his finger.

He used Elemental Magic which was not possible in this world. Water in the air condensed and formed a sphere with around a quarter of a meter radius. Yui who saw this widened her glowing eyes. She had never seen something like this.

Fire suddenly appeared and the water created mist. Alex lowered the temperature with a sub-Division of water magic, Ice Magic. The Spell basically formed an artificial cloud. He used ancient magic to control the gravity making him light as a feather. Adding all sorts of functions to the artificial cloud.

While he was doing this, Yui was flabbergasted. She didn't know what was going on. She looked at Alex, but he was focused on the thing in front of them. She then saw circles appearing in front of his eyes. They rotated, expanded, shrunk and condensed. There were also many colors. This was due to Alex's magic. It was normal sight for magicians as this was the way to configure and create spells. Although not all magicians could do it, many would have probably have seen it from their teachers or during lectures on spell creation.

After a two minute, Alex looked at the spell and nodded in satisfaction. He finished the spell sequence and saved it in his system. He looked at Yui who was looking at him with a desperately curious face. When she was about to ask, he put his finger over her lips and said in a soft voice "It's a Secret". Alex then pulled her by the waist and jumped onto the cloud.

The cloud moved according to Alex's will. It ascended to the sky and flew to the direction of the festival. Yui hugged Alex tightly, not wanting to fall off. She looked at Alex's calm face for a while and when she saw him look back at her, she turned her head away and blushed.

Alex ,who saw this, chuckled and gazed at the town under him thinking

'I am truly lucky to have been reborn into this world'

He then looked at a brightly lit up place and headed toward it.
