13 What a Day

Nemesis woke up next morning refreshed. He started stretching his body to feel any improvements on his body.

"Ah yes. Training by body really has a good effect on me. My magic power is powerful but my body is not catching up. Ill think of a skill that will help me achieve that if I can remember them. Maybe the library has some books that will help me."

He then use [Fly] to get to his Alchemy class. Even he can learn Alchemy via Skill Creation, he still chose to attend one. He needs to experience how Alchemy is done here on this world.

Thats one of the reason he attend these classes even he can just learn all of them instantly by just paying SCP's.

Arriving in a dungeon like classroom, fumes coming out of cauldrons. Different aromas and fragrance filled the room making Nemesis somewhat nausea from smelling all of it.

Some students have already arrived. They are facing rows of tables with cauldrons in front of them. Seeing this makes Nemesis feel that its the potion classroom of Severus Snape like in the movies. He then chose to go to on the second row middle section table.

Well hes not that wrong. After thinking this, a man arrived. Hes a tall man with greasy black long hair all the way on his shoulders, wearing black robes and black cloak and if he spreads them, he will look like a giant bat. Despite his black clothing, he looks friendly and not scary.

"Good morning everyone. I'm Professor Vesryn. Ill be your Alchemy professor this whole year. So lets start today by brewing the simplest of potions." he then flicked his hand and herbs and plants appeared on the each student station.

"What all you have in front are the ingredients for a Basic healing potion. But before you all react Ill just remind you that its still your first day here and I'm not expecting a perfect score from any of you at the moment, so relax. I know that most of you don't have any skills on Alchemy, but whatever."

"Even though Alchemy requires a strong magic control and concentration, you can brew basic potions for your needs. Some of you might get into higher levels in Alchemy if you study and practice enough."

"Now the instructions are in the black board. All you need is to follow the instructions step by step and you'll finish the potion. Easy right? Don't celebrate yet, even there are instructions on when the flames will be adjusted, in the end it will be up to you on how you do it. At the end of the class I will check and grade your potions finished or unfinished. Theres also a book there so you can read what those ingredients are for. You can also consult me later if you have any questions. You all have two hours. Thats all, go, start!"

After he said those he sat on his table in the front and started to observe the students on how they will fair on this first class.

Nemesis read the instructions on the board. It says that the potion will be finished in 1 hour if everything was followed correctly. Having a 2 hour brewing time is enough for two attempts. He then opened the book to see what the ingredients are for.

At the moment hes trying to find out if he can learn something naturally without the help of the system. It might sound stupid but he still needs to try it out. It may or may not be slower if he create it with the system but he will save some SCP in the future if this experiment works or he gets some unexpected surprises if he succeeds.

Nemesis is not a genius or a scholar back on Earth. He just an easy going person even in his studies . Now that hes in a new world with magic and such, he wants to work harder to experience everything in this life.

Looking at the board again he started to work. He picked up the red vine that is named Wicceron by the book. The instruction says that it needs to be skinned and chopped before going into the cauldron. Next, he snapped the twigs of a dried Dream Cudweed then started to light the cauldron. Both the ingredients needs to be put first on a cold cauldron otherwise they will burn immediately if put even at a low heat cauldron.

An hour and a half has passed and hes on the middle stage of the brewing. Adjusting flames might be hard for the others but he have the system for that. He then continue to stir, chop or squeezing the juices of the other ingredients.

Having a purple smoke means the potion is near completion. Looking around, only Nemesis on this step. The others are struggling on their own cauldrons. Some have been burned, some has faint purple smokes coming out.

Seeing that one has succeeded in the in the first try of brewing, Professor Vesryn is very pleased. At least one has succeeded in first try, while others are decent enough to reach this step. Looking at the time the class has 15 minutes remaining.

Nemesis reached the end and seeing his work really makes him happy. What makes him even more happy is that he got the [Alchemy] skill for free. Having got the skill gave him the [All knowledge about this field will not be forgotten] tag on it. Which means that all the books and knowledge regarding Alchemy will now be easy to remember. He can now stock up all the information on his head.

His memory is not that good especially on memorizations. He can get a skill on it but the system said that he has insufficient level and failed to do so. He asked the system on what level he can do this and the system replied with Level 250.

Now that he has a clue on what he can unlock on that level, he then plans to do [Rebirth] and level up in the following days.

Feeling excited on this, he then returned to reality as Professor Vesryn is now checking their work. He passed Nemesis' cauldron and took a sniff on the potion and smiled at him. Seeing that this student has successfully brewed the potion he then gave a nod. The class was then dismissed after that.

Nemesis left immediately as the next classroom was quite a bit far from this classroom. He just use [Fly] to get there and not [Teleportation] as there are many students around. He's just being cautious even thought [Teleportation] is a well known spell to all. Highly skilled people can use it, but not students. And there has been no student has ever succeeded in understanding or learning [Teleportation] at lower levels. They can use [Blink] but it can only move them 100 meters at a time and the mana consumption is high for students.

Nemesis can be called paranoid at this moment but thats what he's like even back then. He doesn't trust anyone or or his surroundings even its a safe area.

Charms is situated in a classroom filled with glowing rune marks on the walls. Charms and Runes works together. Charms can be infused into runes to make the runes much stronger or mana efficient and Runes can be used to power charms that are used for longer durations. Examples are defensive barriers around the school.

Runes were carved using magic crystals and mana. They are like enchanted batteries if used on this matter. But they are mostly used by dwarves in enchanting magic weapons. Runes has many uses and being able to support charms is one of them.

Now seating in the last row near the windows, Nemesis just waited for the professor to come in. At the row behind him a girl was surprised in seeing him in here. She is disguised as a normal human at the moment. Yeah this is the princess that Nemesis is with in the caravan. Nemesis haven't seen her during the trip so he has no idea at the moment. She then woke up from her trance as a female professor comes in.

"Good morning. I'm Professor Maylin who will be your teacher both in Charms and Runes. Some of you is not enrolled in Runes so you can leave after Charms class is finished. Now then, as you all know Charms is used for protection. Protection against certain spells is one of them. Duels between magi are mostly deadly, but here in school its not much."

"It is also used to cast enchantments on a place or an item. You can hide from enemies, make a trap inside the barrier to kill them, make restrictions in an area, or just make a hiding spot. The school is one of the example. It has Anti-Teleportation charm on the whole campus to prevent unwanted visitors from the outside and also to prevent students in leaving without notice if they get an offense. Thats one of the security charms in the whole place and the rest are top secret. " she smiled as she said this

Hearing that the whole campus has Anti-Teleportation spell active. Nemesis felt his back turned cold. Good thing he didn't use it again or he will be in trouble. The whole thing continued and gets into Runes after some of the students left.

The class finished after 3 hours in total. After finishing the class Nemesis went to the cafeteria to eat. He then went straight to the library after eating.

The library is in a large building near the Administrative building. It has seven floors and its wide as two football fields back on Earth. Yeah its really massive for a library. But since this is a big school with centuries of knowledge he is surprised as they can compile and stock up so much books to fill up this place.

The whole six floors are open for students except the seventh. The seventh floor is the restricted section. The restricted section is for magic books on forbidden magics. Yeah its forbidden but the school doesn't forbids the students in learning them. The only requirement to enter and study a book there is through the approval of the current Headmaster.

"Heh. Forbidden section. I can just teleport inside there if i want or use something else and i can get inside." Nemesis mused himself.

Nemesis then searched for Alchemy books and started scanning each and every book he gets his hands on. He picks one book and finishes it in 3 minutes.

At the end of the day he still hasn't even got half of the whole ground floor. Seeing his defeat, Nemesis then went back to his dormitory and rest early.
