12 First Day

It was Nemesis' first day here in the academy.

They were instructed to report in the morning on the Assembly Hall to pick what classes they wanted to attend.

Along the way he saw large buildings with different students pouring in. He finally reached the Assembly Hall and searched for the classes he likes.

The list were: Elemental Magic, Martial Arts, Alchemy, Rune Magic, Blacksmithing, Astronomy, Herbology, Magic Summoning, Charms, and Beast Taming.

"Hmm... It's not that many subjects. I'll pick the first four subjects then the Charms for now. I can add more later if I want.

He then submitted his choices to the staff in charge, and got his schedule.

His first subject was Elemental Magic followed by Martal Arts. The remaining Alchemy, Charms, and Rune Magic will be tomorrow.

Being in the Upper section, he can join any classes that have Professors that are level 200. He also enjoys a 100 academic points rewarded at the start. This also included free meals in the cafeteria and his big apartment type dormitory with magical protection enchantments around it.

Students can earn academic points by accepting missions, doing works inside the academy, or selling items to the school.

"Hehe level 200 teachers. I wonder how good the subjects will be. Shit I only have 5 minutes to go."

[Teleportation] he whispered when he went to a not so crowded corner.

He was teleported two classroom behind his. Good thing no one saw him appear out of nowhere.

Seeing that everything is clear, he walked faster to the classroom.

Inside already have some students. There were 18 students at the moment and he was the 19th to come inside.

Seeing this he just picked the seat next to the window. The typical Cool MC window seat spot.

After a few minutes the teacher appeared. She was a woman around in her twenties with black hair and wearing red robes with the school crest. She was also level 210.

Seeing the professor entered, the whole classroom became silent.

"Alright, Good morning everyone. I'm Edraele Caira your professor for Elemental Magic so pay attention to the class. Ok let's start."

She talked about the element gathering, Mana manipulation of the element and then releasing the magic attack.

She summoned a bird shaped fire and tossed it on a dummy what was on the other side of the classroom.

A loud bang was heard and the next thing we saw was nothing. As the smoke cleared the dummy was reduced to ashes.

"As you can see the more mana was infused and your mana manipulation was great, your spell casting will be reduced, and more damage inflicted. You can also shape the elements into anything you want. Animals are just one of the examples."

"You can also shape it into weapons but it will be very taxing for you if you have low mana reserves. But don't be down on yourselves for now. All of you can surpass the barrier if you level up and train fast."

"As for wandless magic casting, you need a deep concentration to cast the spell as any magical instruments like a wand or staff just aide you in elemental gathering and mana manipulation."

"Wandless magic is the first step, the highest will be Silent Casting. Silent casting is obvious enough. You can have a split second advantage of surprise on the enemy if you mastered it. But let's leave silent casting for now as you are all in your first year."

"You can either learn it on your higher years or learn it yourself. Just a reminder that if you are already struggling in wandless magic, silent casting will be much much harder for you. So just focus on that later."

This lecture continued for an hour then we we're dismissed.

As I was leaving the classroom, Professor Edraele talked to me for a moment.

"Hey kid I saw your performance yesterday. All I can say it was great for your age to do wandless magic. Did you have a teacher before coming here?"

Now thinking of a typical BS MC Old Grandpa apprenticeship story

"Yeah. It was a wandering Mage that taught me when he stayed at my village for quite some time. He said I have a great aptitude for magic, so he taught me magic and trained me to not use wands or staff." he explained his BS story.

"Ah so it's like that. Did he told you what was his name?"

"Ah shit here it comes. Names.Names. Ah yes I remember one." he screamed in his head.

"He said his name was Lord Voldemort. I don't know if that was an alias or his true name." he replied. But in my head I was going to say Dumbledore but that was already used. I just made uncle Voldy a good wizard.

"Lord Voldemort huh. Quite an unusual name.He might be one of those old hermits traveling Midgard. Anyway keep practicing your magic so you will get high scores on your end of the year test." Professor Enraele said.

"Ok thank you professor." then Nemesis left.

His next subject was Martial Arts. When he arrived, he saw that all the students were Warrior class except for him.

Seeing a Mage student in a Martial Arts class, most of them felt it was somewhat weird. Training in both Magic and Martial Arts is very taxing to a person and one cancels the other. Only a few people succeeded in training in both and most of them were heroes.

Even with all the stares Nemesis just stand near the combat stage and waited for the instructor to arrive.

A big muscular man arrived. He's wearing a played armor and a sword attached to his waist. He then gave a hearty laugh.

"Hahahaha. Welcome to the Martial Arts class maggots. I am Professor Aegis. This is a class that will push your body limits to the maximum. Pain will be experienced here every class so don't cry after each lecture."

At the corner of his eye, he noticed a young man in mage robes attending his class, so he called him out.

"Hey brat! Are lost or something? I just said that this is a Martial arts class not a Magic Class. Many Mages have tried to train in both Martial Arts and Magic but only few we're successful."

"Uh yes sir. I know a few sword moves. I just want to have an extra life when fighting." Nemesis replied.

"Good thinking brat. But I don't want you people to quit halfway through my subject. I already had enough of those try hard Mage students." he angrily retorted.

"Don't worry sir. You can assure that I won't be like them."

"Hmph. Seeing that you are so confident, then try your move on the dummy over there. If your performance was satisfactory I'll let you join this class."

"Yes sir!"

Seeing Nemesis went to attack the dummy. Some students sneered on his arrogance and waiting for him to fail.

Nemesis arrived on the front of the dummy. He conjured Kanshou and Bakuya then cast [Windrun].

He then dashed straight to the dummy and used [Ascension Strike] and left a deep dent on the dummy.

Professor Aegis was impressed and the crowed as well. He then called him back.

"Brat you really have a skill. But that [Windrun] is a spell right? You can be much faster if you find a suitable technique to use that strike of yours. Ok you proved yourself to be capable so you can stay now."

"I understand professor." he replied with a smile.

"Heh. You just smiled of that small success let's see if you still have that after the class. Ok start. And you no magic." he reminded Nemesis.

The whole hour all in the class ran into an obstacle course Professor Aegis prepared. Some students were out of breath and laying in the field, some we're just fine like Nemesis.

"Whew good thing I have a lot of stamina in my stats or I'm on the floor like them."

"Good job brats. We will continue this next time. And you" He pointed at Nemesis. "keep it up brat. You might succeed just like those heroes." he said as he dismissed the class.

Nemesis ate food in the cafeteria and went back in his dormitory to sleep the rest of the day.

"Man that was tiring. I'll visit the library tomorrow. My body aches so bad right now.

"Hey piggy guard the door well and I'll feed you another good food later."

*Oink Oink*

The pig happily acknowledged.
