Li Kai was stunned when Lu Wu passed him the notebook. He paused for a moment before taking the notebook from Lu Wu.

As he flipped through the pages, Li Kai slowly narrowed his eyes and straightened his back.

It was obvious that Li Kai finally took this seriously and was carefully reading through Lu Wu's notebook.

As for Lu Wu who saw Li Kai turn silent, he couldn't help but have a look on his face that was made up of 3 points of loneliness, 3 points of boredom and 94 points of helplessness.

To be honest, when Lu Wu first saw Li Kai, he thought that Li Kai was someone influential.

Lu Wu really thought that he met a hidden boss which was why Lu Wu badly wanted to show off his talent.

However, after trying it for such a long time, Lu Wu realised that something wasn't quite right.

This 'boss' didn't seem to be as powerful as Lu Wu had imagined? Li Kai was probably just a little more knowledgeable about summoned beast trainers compared to Lu Wu.

When Lu Wu first had this thought, he thought that he was being arrogant and already had the balls to challenge his boss.

How could someone ordinary like Lu Wu manage to catch up, if he was as powerful as what Lu Wu had imagined?

Therefore, Lu Wu calmed himself down and decided to just work hard to improve himself. But as Lu Wu's effort started showing some results, Lu Wu was sure that his feelings were right! The difference between him and Li Kai wasn't as much as he thought it was! He was so much better than Li Kai!

At least on the enhancement formula for the Firefly Grass, Lu Wu definitely knew more than Li Kai!

It was also at this moment, Lu Wu realised something else.

Although Lu Wu was an ordinary person, he had cheats.

His only option left was to change his strategy.

Instead of trying to be Li Kai's apprentice, he just wanted to make Li Kai someone that he could take advantage of.

Oh well, this was just the boring part of the daily lives of someone with cheats. 

Obviously Li Kai wouldn't know that throughout this past month, Lu Wu had already completely changed his mindset.

Li Kai was more concerned about the notebook that Lu Wu handed over to him.

The notebook that Lu Wu gave was actually an evaluation made targeted to his experiment.

It started off with the ingredient used. Lu Wu estimated the type and amount of ingredients used while cleaning the studio and even found out how the attributes of the Firefly Grass changed according to the ingredient used. Then, it slowly built up towards the formula that Li Kai was using.

The thing that was happening right before his eyes was unbelievable, but Lu Wu did it.

Plus, all of his evaluations and assumptions were clearly explained which were all very shocking to Li Kai. There were a few times where he wanted to close the book and say 'What? Are you sure?'

Just as Li Kai finished Lu Wu's notebook, the way he looked at Lu Wu changed drastically.

Before this, he thought that Lu Wu was just an arrogant young man, but now, he changed his entire perspective of Lu Wu.

With this notebook alone, Li Kai already knew that Lu Wu was much more of an expert than he was when it came to breeding summoned beasts.

As Li Kai acknowledged the fact, there was somewhat a complicated look in his eyes. 

Especially when he saw Lu Wu's "average-looking" face, Li Kai couldn't help but feel jealous with a sense of envy deep inside his heart.

At the same time, this also confirmed the fact that in order to be a summoned beast trainer, you had to be gifted.

As for someone ordinary like him with no inborn talent, even if he tried for years or even centuries, he would never achieve what Lu Wu had within a few months.

Luckily, this wasn't the first time that Li Kai had met geniuses like Lu Wu.

When Li Kai asked the 'million dollars' question, Lu Wu's heart that was initially racing finally calmed down as he nodded his head.

His 'nod' also signified the change in Li Kai's status.

From the boss whom Lu Wu tried to impress, to the boss that paid him daily wages, and now to the person that Lu Wu could take advantage of.

As for Li Kai, he also knew what this meant.

Although Li Kai was not talented enough to be an expert in being a summoned beast trainerr and he didn't manage to become a professional one even trying for the past ten years, Li Kai wasn't dumb. He might be a little cold, but he still knew what he had to do in return for Lu Wu.

And since Li Kai already knew what was waiting for him, the rest of it was a piece of cake because he already knew what Lu Wu wanted.

"What do you want?"

"I want to know more about the professional summoned beast trainers and I also want to borrow your books. Plus, it would be nice if I could borrow your studio along with some of the ingredients from the store."

Both of them were clear and direct.

It was a fair trade in which both would get what they wanted!

Then, Lu Wu took out a list.

There were about ten ingredients on the list.

Li Kai thoroughly looked through the list and quickly estimated the total cost of the ingredients that were listed. After taking a minute or two, he agreed.

It caught Lu Wu by surprise that Li Kai agreed without negotiating.

He really didn't expect that Li Kai would agree to what he wanted so easily. Lu Wu expected that Li Kai would at least be slightly hesitant and Lu Wu already had a backup plan prepared, but now it became totally useless.

As Li Kai nodded his head in agreement, Lu Wu's adventure of taking advantage of his… Oh, sorry… Lu Wu's trade with his boss started.

Lu Wu took out another notebook that he prepared earlier.

Yes, it was another notebook just like the one before, but Li Kai hurriedly took it and started flipping through it.

As soon as he started, Li Kai couldn't take his eyes away from it.

The notebook this time was not as simple as the one before.

This notebook was a continuation of the first notebook that Lu Wu gave him. In this notebook, Lu Wu started off by writing down the past experiments that Li Kai has done. Then, it was followed by detailed evaluations of all the experiments.

It explained why this experiment failed and how to fix the problem. In the end, Lu Wu even explained how he used this formula as a foundation and came up with a new enhancement plan for the firefly grass.

In other words, not only did Lu Wu give Li Kai the solution to his current problem, Lu Wu had also openly shown his strategies and mindset.

After reading through the second notebook, the way that Li Kai looked at Lu Wu once again changed. This time, it was a look that Lu Wu was very familiar with. It was the look that Lu Wu had when he met Li Kai for the very first time…
