Bizarre World

Her reason for existence had been constant turmoil since the day she arrived in this strange world. Fear and anxiety ignited as she was fully aware of imminent danger if they stay here for any longer.

Lena had no recollection why she and her bestfriend ended up in this chaotic place. The last thing she remembered, she was walking along Bernan bridge at past 8 in the evening. After that, it was like her memory had vanquished. Something was missing. She did not know what it was. She was in state of confusion and many questions were lingering in her mind right now.

In a dark and narrow alley, she woke up with her bestfriend, Jennie who was laying on her lap, still unconscious. Lena lightly tapped Jennie's face to wake her up.

"Jen.. Jen do you hear me?" She anxiously asked.

Jennie's eyes slowly opened. She felt dizzy and exhausted from hours of hiding and running away from their pursuers. Jennie's health was Lena's concern. She was prone to sickness when she was still a child therefore, physical activities tired her out easily.

"Jen! You finally wake up! I was so worried about you!" Lena hugged her and sobbed.

"Wha..what happened?" Jennie squinted and rubbed her eyes.

"You fainted" Lena said while brushing Jennie's hair with her hand.

"I'm sorry babe. I've been a burden to you since we came here." Jennie glanced at Lena then looked away with a downhearted face.

"You silly girl! Do you think I'm gonna abandon you here? Of course, we are going home together. You know, we stick like a glue." Lena laughed but deep inside her heart she was really anxious. She had no idea where they would be going next, who could ask help with, how long they would run and hide. But one thing for sure, they needed to get out of this unknown nightmare.

"We need to get out of here as soon as possible or else those creatures..." When Lena remembered those "creatures", her body shivered and face became pale. Lena couldn't utter a single word to describe the creature who were after them. The beast looked like a human but its face was disfigured. Its eyes were bulging and its teeth were like wolves. It was truly horrifying to look at. She did not want to encounter that beast again.

While she was thinking of a way to get out of this bizarre world, she suddenly heared huge steps eight meters away from them.

*growls*

Lena flinched when she heard something.

"Lena.. Is that.." Jennie was frightened. Her hands were trembling.

"Shhh!" Lena covered Jennie's mouth. "We need to go there" She whispered and pointed her finger at the east side. There was a cracked hole in that wall enough for one people to get through. Jennie nodded then they silently walked towards the direction Lena was pointing at. They were cautious not to make any sound.

Then suddenly, Jennie stumbled in an uneven pavement. Lena tried to catch her but it was too late.

*Growls*

A beast like human was growling like crazy and heading to them.

"Aaaaaaaah!" Jennie yelled and panicked. Her sweat was forming on her forehead. It was hot but she felt really cold.

Lena grabbed Jennie's arm and run at the direction of the small hole. Her andrenaline rush was its high peak and her body instinctively moved as soon as the beast growled and ready to feast them for dinner.

"Run as fast as you can and get yourself through that hole! Go!" Lena shouted at Jennie who was still shocked.

"Wa..wait! How about you?" Jennie's eyes were bursting with tears and hands were trembling and cold.

"Don't worry about me. We can't fit together at the same time. After you get through, I'm going in too." Lena said and took a glance at the beast.

"Noooo!" Jennie's tears were flowing. She held Lena's arms tightly not leaving her side.

"Trust me, please." Lena looked at Jennie's eyes and kissed her forehead.

"Now, go!" Lena shouted and looked at the ferocious beast.

Jennie fled as fast as she could. She had to trust her bestfriend. They would get out of this horrible place. Her heart was breaking. It was like thousand thorns were stabbing her heart but she needed to be strong. This was the only way for them to survive.

'Sorry, Jen but I have to lure this beast. If not, we will both die here.'

When Lena saw that Jennie had already entered the hole. She picked the fist sized stone and threw it to the beast. When she was about to run, the beast charged at her and scratched her back with its long nails. Its nails were like claws of a wolf. The beast tried to grabbed her but luckily she dodged it. She tried to get away and hollored for help but her throat was dry and could not utter a single word. Lena tripped and collapse on the floor.

"Aaaaah!" She yelled in pain. Lena's back was covered in blood.

*growls*

The beast's growling made Lena's ears almost deaf. Her complexion turned pale and vision was blurry.

'Am I going to die?' She thought.

When the beast was about to attack her again, a sharp arrow was shot to its head

then followed by another three to four arrows were shot to its chest. A group of 3 men and a girl were running towards wounded Lena.

"Lenaaaaa!" Jennie sobbed loudly. Her trembling knees fell down and picked her wounded bestfriend.

"Jen... I." Lena hadn't finished her words and fainted.
