9 Tamayo - 8

Asakusa.

The setting of one of the first major arcs of Demon Slayer, where many things about demons were explained to Tanjiro.

But now, I wasn't sure anymore.

After all, instead of sending Tanjiro to Asakusa, the demon slayer corp sent me instead.

Completely different from the cannon.

Of course, I was well aware that the actions that I had taken would have definitely changed the plot.

I just never thought that the plot would change this quickly.

So, if Tanjiro wasn't going to Asakusa, then he was probably headed to that damn weird house with the failed lower moon.

He should also be meeting Zenitsu soon, and, although I wasn't for sure, he was probably with Yasu right now.

'Hmm... I wonder how Tanjiro fared this time against the swamp demon with my sister helping him.'

I spent the entirety of my time traveling to Asakusa thinking about how awesome my sister must have been.

...

I arrived at the crowded area where Muzan was supposed to have his first confrontation with Tanjiro.

Knowing that Tamayo and Yushiro would be around the area, I quickly looked around before finding them in the crowd.

I also saw Muzan heading the other direction with his "family", and, honestly, I was getting a little jealous.

Shaking my head at these thoughts, I started following the two doctor demons.

...

Once we reached the dead end, I waited outside for 30 minutes, making sure that they hadn't noticed me or anything.

After thoroughly checking, I entered through the wall.

Seeing the house in the distance, and how nothing assaulted me, I smiled inwardly.

But, then, something happened that was outside of my expectations.

"Welcome to our humble clinic."

Suddenly, another illusion disappeared, and I was met with the figure of Tamayo and Yushiro standing in front of the house.

"Please come in, demon slayer."

Tamayo smiled at me as I inched closer and closer.

"What business do two filthy demons like you have, running a clinic?" I wrote down, on a sheet of paper that I had handy.

"You! Don't talk to Ms. Tamayo like that! She's nothing like the demon's you know!"

Rushing at me, Yushiro threw a punch straight at my belly.

But, unfortunately for him, as I was always holding my chokuto with my left hand, I once again pulled down on the sheathe before using that inertia to pull out the blade of the chokuto, but this time, I flipped the chokuto around so that it was facing inward, using this sliver of blade to cut off his arm from the side in the same backhanded fashion, before resheathing my chokuto.

This all happened faster than a normal human eye could see.

Yushiro instantly formed a surprised expression, seeing the fountain of blood coming from the stump at his elbow, before reforming the lower half of his arm.

"You Mother Fucker!"

Not learning his lesson, he once again threw another punch at me.

But, I didn't even more or flinch a centimeter as his fist stopped right in front of my face.

Let's just say, the aura that Ms. Tamayo emitted was not a fun one to be around.

"Yushiro, come back here, now!"

Yushiro instantly reappeared at Ms. Tamayo's side and bowed his head to hide the displeasured look on his face.

"You will not hurt this young man for the rest of his stay, is that clear?"

"Yes Ms. Tamayo."

"Good."

She turned back to me and welcomed me into the house.

"I apologize for the rudeness Yushiro showed, please, come in and make yourself at home."

Pretending to be wary, I carefully entered the house.

Sitting down in a perfect Seiza, I let my haori fall over my knees and onto the floor.

Then, I sat there and listened to Ms. Tamayo's whole spiel on there doctor stuff and a possible cure, blah blah blah.

After finishing, and noticing that I was unable to speak, she quickly ordered Yushiro to bring my papers and a writing tool.

Writing in beautiful, flowing Kanji, I told her my thoughts.

"I believe that what you are doing is very noble, but, how should I trust you?"

"After all, you are both demons, and, all demons must be exterminated."

"But, we haven't ever killed a human, so why must you kill us?"

Holding the writing utensil like a sword, I carved out my thoughts on the paper.

"Little Yushiro here might have never killed a human, but you, Ms. Tamayo, have surely killed a human before."

"Stop writing these baseless accusations!" Shouted Yushiro before he started swinging his fist again.

"Yushiro, stop!"

Once again, the boy's fist stopped right in front of my face.

"What the demon slayer just said is correct, I have indeed eaten my fair share of humans."

Then, she turned back to me.

"But, how did you know that?"

"My dad told me."

"..."

"And who would your dad be?"

"Nobody you need to know about."

Then, I turned to Yushiro and wrote out something else.

"Please step aside so that I may exterminate this disgusting demon. As you are one with no sins, I won't harm you. But, as for Ms. Tamayo, she has committed countless atrocities, and, whether or not she has changed, I don't care. She must pay for her sins as all karma must come back around."

"No! You can't hurt Ms. Tamayo! If you do, then you must step over my dead body first!"

He stood up and stepped in between Ms. Tamayo and I.

Knowing that my last provocation had worked, I calmly put down my writing utensil and papers.

I then grabbed my chokuto that had been laying next to my left hand on the mat, stood up, and started walking out of the house.

Calling to me, Ms. Tamayo asked, "W-what are you doing?"

I turned my head back, before pointing at the house, and then my sword.

This action carried two different meanings.

On one hand, I was expressing the fact that I didn't want to destroy this house in our battle, so I was asking them to take this fight outside.

On the other hand, I was threatening to destroy the house if they didn't come outside and fight me.

Stiffly standing up, Ms. Tamayo tried one last time to diffuse the situation.

"Please... don't fight. We are on the same side."

My only response to this was a sorrowful shake of my head, before I lifted it and once again, started my walk out of the house.

Once I was outside, I distanced myself from the house and waited for them to make a decision.

Either, they would face me, or I would destroy their house and face them.

Obviously, they took the first option and headed outside.

But, then, something unexpected happened.

Ms. Tamayo suddenly immobilized Yushiro and appeared in front of me, baring her neck in my direction.

"If this is what you want, then so be it."

I nodded my head at how easily she accepted her fate.

This time, I took the full blade of the chokuto out of its sheathe as I sliced horizontally, before quickly resheathing it while the sheathe was still in the air.

Ms. Tamayo's head slid off her neck, and then tumbled to the ground, followed by her body a second later.

As she was slowly turning into ashes, tears stained her eyes as she whispered one last thing.

"Not all demons are bad, I hope that my death weighs on your conscience, enough to change your manner of thinking."

Then, she was gone, as her ashes flew away.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!"

The cries of Yushiro rang out as he suddenly reformed his legs and launched himself at me, his arms outstretched, his fingernails sharpened to the extremes.

As he approached me, I jumped to the side, and unsheathed my chokuto, bringing it up in a circular motion, fully cutting off his outstretched arms and his head at the neck.

Completing the circle by letting the blade turn around my hand, I held it in a back hand grip again before resheathing it, once again, before the sheathe could even start falling.

(A/N: Gonna put some drawing here to show what happened, but please, I know that my drawing skills suck, but it should get the ideas across.)

Turning around, I didn't even look back at Yushiro's crying face as it dissipated into thin air.

I left the illusion's boundary, my left hand once again, clenching the middle of the sheathe.
