3 What Power she really holds

It had been Hours since she had started to wander. It had taken her some time to get up in the morning, after her human body had been overused in the night. She hoped it wouldn't take her much longer to get used to the new body. The first few days in a new form were always the most exhausting, but it varied from the lifespan of the creature. It had taken her 5 years to get used to her form as a Tree, but only seconds when she had been a fly. Humans lived 70-90 years so she figured it would take another two to three days until she was fully aware and in control of this body.

While she was walking she listened to the song of nature. All the animals in the forest were up now and busy doing whatever they did. Gracefully she tiptoed around a goose as not to wake her, resting in the Long grass she was currently walking through. The Reed tickled her relentlessly and more than once she tried not to scratch the parts of her body where the hard plant touched her.

The sun was reaching its highest point in the sky as her strolling got disturbed. At first she recognised the silence. She had been so deep in thought and contentment, she realised it just yet. The trees didn't converse with another , the birds gone und even the insects seemed to buzz quieter than before.

„Adala run." Her Body jolted to a stop. „Sisters?"

„Adala, Dearest Sister,. Run." the faint whisper in her head died out and she started running in the direction she came from. The Wind whipped her Mass of Locks around her body as she sprinted as fast as she could to the Lake she had passed minutes ago. And then she heard it. The Song of Nature became filled with Pain and Distress. Closing her eyes she urged this stupid unknown Legs to go faster. Diving deeper into Nature, everything rushed in her head. The Animals screeching warnings at each other and at her to run and go, for danger was coming. The plants screaming in Pain as they were destroyed, bend and twisted, never to be revived again. The Frog and the heron sitting at the Edge of the lake were urging her to dive in the water for safety, they could also feel the danger coming towards them. But over all these impressions and feelings that crashed over her, the strongest was the Pain and sorrow. Two Horses were whining and screaming, huffing in exhaustion and wincing with every kick their flanks received from whoever was riding them. They overexerted themselves by carrying weights, that were to heavy. And hopelessness. The hopelessness and agony that seeped through all of it made Adala Stop. These Creatures were tortured. Used by someone who didn't care about the consequences for them.

As she spun around again she searched for the origin of these feelings. She concentrated on the Horses and their Riders. A few hundred meters away from her, still in the Forest. Approaching fast. Her decision was made. The sun lit her Skin up as she readied herself. With a swift motion her Hair was whisked out of her face and both arms at her sides she waited for the Monsters to come.

It didn't take long till two brown Horses broke through the treeline, white foam glazing their flanks and muzzles. Adala did not need to see the Panic in the Horses eyes, she could feel it. „I will help you" the mental Message was received with a mixture of sadness and Relief.

Now as they raced closer to where she was standing, she could see the 4 Persons on the back of the two poor Things. They looked dirty, clothed in something she would call rags and with a wild look on their faces. Instant disgust filled Adalas Veins. One of the Persons seemed to have spotted her. His surprised look shifted to one of longing and an insidious grin revealed his foul, black teeth. „Are they bad men?" her question was answered with a flood of memories from the two horses.

How they were at a shabby and burned down farmhouse with their masters, naked and mutilated bodies covering the floor in a sea of blood, guts scattered everywhere. A small Child seemingly sitting dead against a wall, the look of pure horrid fear forever implemented on it's face, missing the bottom half of its body. How their masters had chased the men, that were now sitting on their backs, relentlessly for weeks and finally managed to capture them. How the Monsters had killed two of these men, the masters and trusted friends of the Two Animals, to escape their punishment. The force of the memories made her stagger back a step. Those were bad men, she had no doubt. In a few seconds they would be close enough to hurt her. It was clear as day, that this was exactly what they had in mind. She did not need to hear their thoughts for this. One of the Men shouted something to his comrades and pointed in her direction. Their evil laugh was Heard even over the pounding hooves. They came closer, swinging swords and weapons in anticipation, laughing menacingly. Adala watched them. They would be here soon. A few more seconds.

They never reached her. With a blow the two Horses raced past her, came to a halt somewhere behind her. The relief sweeping through the Bond was overwhelming. The Ranks that had shot out of the ground and grabbed the man around the middle, had pulled them from the Horses backs onto the ground. She commanded them to secure the men in the dirt. „What is that?" one screamed in panic. Two of them tried to hack the tendrils. „You witch! Let us go, I will cut your pretty face in pieces!" unimpressed Adala stepped to him, careful that his sword could not reach her. They squirmed and tried to free themselves.

She pitied them. She could not even hear their melody in the song of nature. They must be far away from balance, if she could not even feel them. What brings a human to be like this, she thought to herself. She tilted her head while watching the man, looking like a fish on the shore. „Why have you done, what you have done?" she asked one in a soft voice. As no one answered her right away she wondered if they had even heard her over their relentless cursing. One of the men, the dirtiest of them, bloodstained, had managed to get enough room in his confinement to try to lunch at her. Surprised she stepped back and a second later a seething pain shot through her side. She felt the blood run down her leg as she looked at the stabbing wound on her right side. „Die, you Little Bitch. I can sell your dead body too! Fuck you witch" His Hand still clutched the Hilt of the Dagger and cursing her he tried to stab her once again. The room was there, in shock she had lost concentration on the Song of Nature that allowed her to control everything around her. Wide eyed she saw the dagger like in slow motion targeting her bare chest. She closed her eyes. In an effort to save this human Shell she willed Time to slow down. Gritting her Teeth in effort, her eyes opened again and the blade was still in front of her, barely moving towards her body.

„You made a mistake, bastard. I have no kind heart for Cruel Creatures." smiling sweetly she raised her arms and called the power around her. It would be faster to end their existence by her will, but she wanted the Cycle to get the Pleasure. Compensatory Justice. They had hurt and killed countless Beings so it was only fair to let them get ripped apart by the ecosystem. Literally.

The sky went dark as a good thousand Birds flew towards her, eyes focused on the targets at hand. Stepping aside, she willed Time to run like normal and then everything happened fast. The Blade aimed at her heart ran into the ground, now that no target was there, the tendrils had vanished and two of the men jumped immediately up and made a move to attack her. A moment later they were swarmed by Birds. Big and Small, Hawkes, Pheasants, Geese, Swifts, Ravens, Bustards, Stilts, Herons, Pelicans, Owls, Kites, Eagles, Woodpeckers, Jays, Crows, Swallows, Goldcrests, Firecrests and so many more arrived in a massive swarm of browns and Blacks with colourful spots here and there. Like a cloud or smoke they surrounded the men. Fiercely each and every one of them picked and hacked and scratched and mutilated the Four, who were trying to cover on the ground. Blood splashed here and there. The Sound of a thousand wings Hummed in her ears while Adala watched how The Birds ripped apart the Bodys of Monsters.

Leaning over the Neck of his Stallion he urged his old Friend to go faster. „Come on Boy we can't let them get away!" as if his Horse agreed with him he galloped even faster through the dense forest. These bastards can't be that far, Marcus thought. They had a head start from three to four minutes tops. And with the doubled Load on the Horses Backs there was no chance that they could go full speed. The crashing of Hooves on the Ground was the only thing the General could hear. He figured a few minutes ago that his Soldiers couldn't keep up with him and Domit. Domit was the fastest and strongest Warhorse in all of Vallartos after all. He didn't mind getting to the Dirty Cunts first. It would be hard to not stab them immediately, but nobody said something about bringing them to Grayin in one piece. Missing a limb or two wouldn't hurt anyone. Except these bastard, of course.

Eager to not let them Get away he dashed through the Trees and urged his Horse over every Obstacle. There was the Treeline, on a meadow he would see them Much easier. An evil grin stretched the scar on his chin. „Now I got you Bastards"

The Sun blinded him for seconds, being in zenith, and he had to shield his eyes and slow Domit down a bit to regain his Orientation.

The glistening light mixed with a dark cloud. His sight must play games, for what he saw now was totally absurd. A big and dark Cloud moved in the middle of the Meadow near a small lake and carried a screeching, deafening sound. As he got closer he swore he heard flapping? „What the actual.." before he could fully voice his disbelief, the cloud or mass moved in a circle, shot in the sky and exploded it thousands of dark dots - where these birds?! - that vanished in the sky.

Stunned he followed a few of these dots with his eyes and did not even realised he had halted. The Loud neigh of his Horse made him look in front of him - ‚the bandits he had to get them'. But there were no bandits. 20 Meter in front of him stood someone. It felt like a Manifestation, how the woman stood there carefree, her Dark Locks playing around the soft curves of her hips and barely hiding the perky Breasts and her golden middle from his eyes. She seemed to glow from within, or was it the sun that brightened her skin, as if it was caressing it? Her presence was so otherworldly that he feared it might vanish, if he would look away. His eyes started tearing up and after what felt like forever he blinked and the spell was broken. His hand found the hilt of his sword as Marcus tore his gaze away from the woman and looked around the meadow, remembering his actual task. It was then, that he noticed the sea of blood to the woman's feet. Bright red it contrasted on the green ground and the wariness in him grew stronger. However beautiful this Thing or presence might be, a fresh pile of blood does not appear out of nowhere. Careful, but in a swift and trained movement he got from his horse and drew his Broadsword. The Blade glittered dangerously in the sunlight. The woman - he still wasn't sure if she was real - did not seem bothered by it, and still looked at him with a calm expression. Was it curiosity in her eyes? Cautious he draw closer , ready to attack at any given moment. The muscles in his arms were tense and the grip on his sword hardened. He would not let anything surprise him, his experience as a warrior and fighter was guiding him now. As he moved closer, she didn't move. Only her Hair swayed from side to side in the wind, revealing more and less from her naked skin.

The rim of the Blood Puddle threatened to expand as his foot stepped in the grass in front of it. He dared to take a glance at the puddle and his eyebrows rose in his unruly brown hair. This puddle was not just blood, it looked more like someone had been eviscerating a load of Animals. If it weren't for the pieces of clothing and the 3 swords and 2 daggers poking out of the red mud. No animals were slaughtered here.

Marcus stared in disbelief and wonder at the woman now merely 3 meters from him.

"You.." he began as he watched her body suddenly going limp and dropping on the floor. Without thinking he jumped towards her to save her head from crushing on the ground. The blood splashed in every direction as his heavy Form stomped through it. He catched her body before it completely hit the ground and cradled the naked body in his arms. "What is going on here..?" He mumbled looking up as his men finally catched up to him.
