Thaddeus Marlowe

Because Thaddeus' personal doctor was male, they called in a favor and asked him to get them a female doctor.

This came as a surprise to the said doctor, knowing the man's discomfort towards the female species, but he did make the necessary calls.

However, due to the location of his villa, a doctor had to take a while. Still, taking her to the hospital—he didn't have a helicopter in this place—would've taken longer, so it was the best he could do for her.

Still, it was taking the doctor longer than he expected and he couldn't help but feel anxious.

At this time, Thaddeus had been walking back and forth, unable to calm down. Harold, who had watched the master grow up, couldn't help but feel anxious with him.

"Master, perhaps you can change clothing and take a bath. It won't do any good to catch a cold."

Thaddeus frowned and paused. His chiseled jaw tightened and his green eyes stayed on the woman.

"Where is she?" He asked, referring to the doctor. Harold sighed, answering for the nth time.

"She's on her way."

Thaddeus couldn't leave the woman's side in the end. Fortunately, the doctor arrived shortly after, looking a little haggard from the rush. She looked to be around her early thirties, a pretty brunette with amber eyes.

"I'm sorry, this place isn't easy to find," she said as she stepped forward to check on the patient.

The doctor took a preliminary test and even brought some blood testing kit. The doctor looked at the red blood that came out of the girl's fingers, determining that she was fine in the end.

"She is just a bit cold, inherently," the young doctor finally said, "She is fine otherwise."

She then looked at Thaddeus in curiosity, "Are you sure you found her under the sea?"

"Yes."

The woman's eyes turned to the woman on the bed, "Then… she is amazing."

Somehow, the complement to the girl made him happy as well.

"Yes," Thaddeus smiled, "She is."

Some minutes later, Harold saw the doctor off, leaving Thaddeus behind with the girl.

Thaddeus sighed and sat down next to her, his hand touching her forehead.

She was slightly cool, but she had indeed warmed a bit. His hand crept down her cheek.

She was still soft, and good to touch.

He caught himself before he touched anymore, turning away.

Fortunately he did so as the next moment the door opened, revealing Harold with old Thessy, one of the few females in the villa.

"Thessy will handle the girl, master, please take a rest now."

He nodded and stood up, but not without stealing another glance at the woman on the bed, with Thessy now right next to her.

Seeing that she was taken care of, Thaddeus finally went to his room—which was right next to hers—to take a long warm bath.

He took off contact lenses and rested his back on the tub filled with lukewarm water, relaxing for a while after a short bath.

Unexpectedly, as his body relaxed, the imprint of her image appeared in front of his eyes.

He rubbed his temple and pushed it down, but it didn't work—his mind just kept turning back to that strange woman.

Heaving a sigh, he combed back his jet-black hair and stood up. His lean muscular body emerged from the tub and he went to dry himself, dressing up in comfortable home clothes.

Now without his contact lenses, he put on his eyeglasses and went out of the bathroom.

He had grown to dislike the female species, among others, due to the women who tried throwing themselves at him. Many of his peers teased him for being lucky, but it just ended up rousing his disgust.

But, that girl… she was so beautiful and… clean.

Thaddeus had never pegged himself to ever be fascinated by beauty, but it seemed that he thought too much of himself.

In fact, Naia's iridescence had been greatly discounted in her human form. Her skin had lost its extreme smoothness, her eyes and hair had become duller, even her voice was weakened to adjust to the atmosphere above the sea. However, despite this, she was still easily the most beautiful person anyone had ever seen.

Thaddeus wasn't privy about this at all and he absent-mindedly headed to his large bed, to rest as per plan but his feet stopped.

Despite his logical mind, he turned to the door and went to the other room.

"Just to check on her. For one minute." He told himself, as he opened the door, walking to the side of her bed.

He couldn't help but just stare at her peaceful form, lightly breathing.

She was now wearing a conservative night dress with long sleeves. He hoped she was more comfortable now. He stayed there for a while, not noticing how long he did so, until he witnessed her shift a bit.

His eyes widened a bit, knowing she was on the verge of waking up. He watched as her long eyelashes fluttered, her pretty lips pursed, and the sight tickled his heart a bit.

When she opened her eyes, he felt his heart stop.

They were as blue as the bluest skies and the most beautiful seas. He, who loved the sea, was particularly hit and his heart couldn't stop beating wildly.

Then their eyes met and his heart was captured.

But then she blinked, eyebrows furrowed, confused.

"What's wrong?" He asked, sitting on the side of her bed.

She uttered words he could not comprehend.

"Pardon?"

She spoke again, this time with more 'words'.

He couldn't understand a word she said, but it felt like music nevertheless.

Such a beautiful voice…

"Can you repeat that please?" He asked, scooting closer.

He didn't know if she understood him, but she did speak again, soon confirming his thought.

It was a different language, he could tell, but he couldn't find traces of any familiar language or root.

Then she wrapped her arms around him and his brain died when he felt her soft breast against his clothed skin.

"You—" but he realized she was shaking, afraid, and his heart felt like it was pierced.

He heaved a deep breath and he—surprised at his own gall—laid down so she could embrace him more comfortably. She wrapped her arms around him tighter and his brain boiled as she lifted her head and her mouth hovered on his ears.

She was saying something with that melodious tone of hers, and somehow he could tell that she was confused and afraid.

Instinctively, he wrapped his arms around her, wanting desperately to comfort her.

In the end, he just laid there, with her soft head on his chest, and soon she closed her eyes and he could hear her soft breathing again.

He couldn't sleep for a while after that but when he accepted the fact that he was really laying down with a strange woman, his body softened.

Soon he, too, was called by deep slumber, incredibly relaxed for the first time since becoming an adult.
