3 Home’s Troubles

The group and I held a funeral for the dead giants and once that concluded we spent most of the night getting to know one another. Something surprised us all that made us laugh, King's real name was Kero! We talked about our likes and dislikes, habits and abilities. They each had a magical ability, King's was Light Rebuild, it allowed her to heal minor to semi fatal injuries. She also has the ability to control nature, light and boost the spirit of others. Akira had the ability he called Hunt, it allowed him to never lose the scent of his target once it was locked on until the target was caught or killed, his man beast powers were also superhuman strength, speed and durability, acute senses of hearing, smell, and taste, and can also see into the infrared and ultraviolet range of the light spectrum. Akira was a walking talking dog, I knew his ability would come in handy later on. Mason was a little more secretive about his abilities, he called his ability Photo Memory, which granted him the ability to turn into anything he lays his eyes on. Levi was talking about his abilities like he was proud of them, he had the ability to manipulate emotions to send his opponents into a frenzy, which he called Brawl. He also had superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility, and reflexes. He was a super fight in the making, is what he called it. When they asked me I didn't hesitate, I made it a point to be honest with the group.

My exact words were, "I can bend the darkness inside my body to whatever I wish, Darkness Manipulation is what it's called and it's actually pretty common when I come from.. But out of everyone I was the most skilled." I had said.

After that we all went to sleep, I didn't bother telling them about my devil mode, it would only serve to make them fear me, which I didn't want. As I groggily awoke I remember all that had happened yesterday, I smiled and watched the rest of the group stur one by one.

"Alright!" I said, once they were all up and awake.

"We'd better get moving." I continued. We got up, dusted ourselves off and we moved off towards our new home.

Once we were all in sight of the home everyone got excited,

"That can't be it?" Akira said, confused.

"That's all right." I said. They all raced forward, all besides King.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"It's incredible.. I can't believe it." She stammered. I smiled,

"Go explore it, it's got a lot." I said with a happy note in my voice. She slowly began to walk over, I took a deep breath and ran forward. I raced through the doors, I began to slow down thinking.

"We'd need supplies, and food. And some kind of income…" I walked into the main all, all these thoughts on my mind. Then I said aloud,

"I could have a mine nearby?"

"As a source of income, not bad." A voice replied. I looked over, it was mason.

"Thinking of how we can stock this massive place?" He asked. "Yeah, and how we can get some money for it." I replied.

"The mine isn't a bad idea, but we'd need someone to mine unless we do it ourselves." He said,

"That's not an issue." I replied. I opened my hand, a ball of darkness appeared, and all I had to do was think of the word man and the ball moved away to change into a life sized human.

"I can give this guy a command and it'll do it till I say stop." I said, gesturing to the pitch black man.

"Well that problem is taken care of, Now where do we have the mine?" He asked.

"I did see a nearby cave on the walk here." He said,

"How far?" I asked.

"Down the creek, i can walk there." He said confidently.

"That problem is done. Now, do we chop down the remaining trees and sell them for money or do we start on a wall around the base?" I said.

"I say we sell them and stock the armory, that way we can defend ourselves and we can work on the wall from the mine income." Mason said. This thought process from Mason, who was so usually so to himself, surprised me. I kept thinking,

"We also need some supplies like food and medicine." I continued.

"Hold on, I have a way to knock all birds with one rock!" He said as he raced off,

"Rock? That doesn't sound right. Stone sounds better." I said aloud. A few moments later he came back in with everyone, once they all sat down Mason said.

"We need to stock up, supplies and food. Akira and I will go hunting for some food." Akira nodded.

"King, are you ok with gathering some herbs and roots, to make some kind of remedies," She nodded.

"Levi, can you see if there is any nearby residence?" Mason continued. He nodded.

"Josh you know what you need to do." He said, I nodded.

"Everyone is clear on what they need to do?" I asked. They nodded in unison,

"Then let's go." I said. We all got up, grabbed what we'd need and went our separate ways,

"Come back by the end of the day!" I screamed as we all walked out of ear shot of each other. I walked to the north, while the others to their own directions, I walked for about twenty steps and instantly saw the cave Mason told me about. I walked in, and knew it'd be perfect. I summoned my men of darkness, and gave them their commands.

"MIne anything deemed valuable, iron, gold, and any other metals you find, bring them back to the castle and put them in the storage rooms." I said,

"Build yourself tools, and get to work!" I barked. The group of four men began to walk deeper into the cave, I walked out and stood there for a few minutes. I turned around and saw the group of four carrying massive amounts of iron and gold. I smiled and followed them back home. They walked into the castle and did as they were told, putting the ores into the storage rooms. I began sorting and organizing each pile, I'd been doing the exact same thing for at least a few hours because Mason and Akira came back with a massive haul of food, a lot of small birds and a whole pack of Malpacki.

The Malpacki were massive beasts that eat grass, they are severely scared of people so they are hard to catch. I saw Akira carrying a small pup in his arms, I knew it was a fire dog. The fire dogs were the predators that mostly hunted malpacki, they were dogs they had a bond with fire. They often use fire in their claws and teeth, and they are severely aggressive. The fire they use often burns their prey, causing more damage than their already massive teeth and claws. I was shocked that they managed to take a pup,

"Why do you have a Fire Dog?" I asked.

"Akira wouldn't let him go, we found him injured and Akira wouldn't leave him." Mason said.

"His family wasn't anywhere nearby! I couldn't leave him." He said, I went up to him and said

"I'd let him go home, his family WILL come for him." I said. Just as me. Levi raced inside of the doors.

"FIRE DOGS!!" He screamed.

I raced towards the doors, knowing what I'd find, and I did find it. I saw a huge pack of big burly dogs racing towards us, their eyes glowing red, and the hackles on the back of their necks glowing red and raised. I looked at Levi, he was cut up and bloody, I looked back at the Fire Dogs knowing they did this because their claws and teeth were red with blood.
