Singularity: Lord of Mysteries

Members of the Aurora Order had brutally murdered Max, a child of the age of 15. In the body of this unfortunate child, enters the memories of Samuel, a not-so-innocent person in his previous life, whose life choices finally caught up to him one day and ended up killing him. However, he is reincarnated in the world of Lord of Mysteries, a horrifyingly tragic world where humans struggle against inevitable monsters of epic proportions by gaining Beyonder powers that ultimately either end up consuming them and causing them to lose control, or become strong enough that the will or the original creator takes over their souls. In this world of steam and machinery headed towards a prophesied apocalypse, armed with a Pathway that did not exist in the fictional novel, that will either lead to his ascension or his demise, Max must strive to survive and save the world... or would he? ---------- P.S. This is my first Fan-fic so go easy on me and give me pointers. Positive criticism is welcomed. If you don't like it or the writing is terrible, Ok. Just leave and don't rub it in my face T-T Anyway, I will post chapters hopefully daily, and I hope you guys help with the creation process of the novel. compared to my other novels, I will be writing this one with no fixed story in mind, so I will depend on you guys to give me pointers on what should come next. As of now, I have only written 2 chapters and will try to write one a day and keep up the upload schedule. Note: I had read the novel quite some time ago, and I do not wish to read 1400 chapters of something I have already read. So I went to the wiki and read through the summaries, and got the just of at least the Tingen Plot. Unfortunately, I do not want our first arc to be in Tingen for obvious reasons; Adam. Also, for those thinking his pathway is super overpowered after reading the first chapter, be warned that despite this, as long as he does not reach the highest Sequence and beyond, he is still too weak to survive in this chaotic world. Also, anything powerful comes at a cost, and you will see the cost when he tries to become a Beyonder. Anyway, I hope everyone likes the story and please comment and leave a review so I know where to fix the the fan fic.

The Corruption-Free World

After a few seconds of silence, The World looked around and said with a dark smile, "I don't have any more requests for now."

Having a rough understanding of the process and its characteristics, Fors was eager to purchase the corresponding Sequence 8 Trickmaster of the Apprentice Sequence. She clearly remembered that Mr. Fool had said that the reason she was troubled by the full moon was due to her low natural order of life, and that the pain would decrease with the rise of her Sequence. This made Fors eager to obtain the next formula.

'However, it would expose the Beyonder pathway I'm from. When everyone becomes familiar with each other and knows more about each other, exposure will become less of a serious matter. However, for the next few gatherings, I have to conceal that so that the members of the gathering won't be able to identify the real me.'

After thinking rather calmly for a moment, Fors said, "I wish to obtain the formula of Apothecary and Trickmaster. I will pay in cash."

She intentionally added the Apothecary formula to her actual request in order to cause the others to have a misinterpretation. If any member of the gathering really had the formula, she would still take it. She could then sell it at a higher price to Viscount Glaint who been longing for this formula for a long time. In any case, she definitely wouldn't suffer a loss because of this and might even make a huge profit.

Everyone present analysed the new member's words and came to differing conclusions about her based on their own needs and understandings.

At the same time, Klein controlled The World who said hoarsely, "I have the Apothecary formula. 230 pounds. As for the Trickmaster formula, I'll do my best to find it, but I can't guarantee success."

At this moment, Max began struggling violently and turned to the Fool while waving his hands. Of course, he was not saying anything, but to the other people other than Klein, it felt like he was trying to say that he had the potion formula for Ms. Magician, who also looked over at Mr. Fool as though asking for permission.

The Fool just chuckled mysteriously and waved his hand, allowing Max to speak once more, while wondering what exactly he was up to.

"Ah! Finally free! Ah yes, where was I. Yes, yes, I was introducing the people of the Tarot Club to each other. I have only one person left. Mr. World; the cleansed outcome of a corrupted Beyonder characteristic-" and one more, he was silenced.

"Mr. Death, you shall not speak in the Tarot club the next time around as well."

"Keke, do you intend to act all mysterious until you actually become the Fool of the Seer pathway? Not a bad plan, and I honestly do hope you succeed. But very well, I shall play along and remain silent for the rest of the meeting. No matter how important the information I have is…" Max huffed as he mumbled, and since he was silenced, only Klein could hear him.

'What is up with his character? Compared to when I first met him in the Tarot Club, why has he changed so much? Is it perhaps a side effect of advancing to a higher Beyonder Sequence? Anyways… how does he even know about how I created the World?' Klein lampooned about Max's mental state, while the person in question was also lampooning about the very same issue.

'The mind altering corruption is back… and with a vengeance. Its stronger than before I advanced. I should quickly finish my plans to deny the Demoness her… or his advancement ritual. I'll get Ademisaul to investigate these matters without reporting it to anyone. When the time comes, I will personally also play a part in destroying her plans… or his… Sigh, even talking about someone from that pathway gets confusing.'

And the rest of the Tarot Club meeting went without a hitch, allowing Max to return to his cabin on the train without the payment of the remaining three divinations due to his behaviour. But he did not mind since they were not very important divinations.

After sending the message via Castle Black to Ademisaul, Max returned to the more important matter at hand, investigating the whereabouts of that b*tch. Of course, right before that, he made sure to douse himself with Unity energy to get rid of that blasted corruption.

'Some people say revenge leaves you with an empty feeling. But Samuel's experience of getting revenge on all those who wronged him after climbing high enough has proven otherwise. Revenge is a thrill, a feeling of satisfaction… a completeness that cannot be accomplished otherwise. And I shall have it, one way or another!'
