How she lost everything:

It's cold. Winter choking the land as a pale, pearly moon hangs in the black sky. The snow is whalebone-white, the battering gusts of wind are awful blowing hot snow everywhere, but somehow a gentle hush still cloaks the land.

The freezing white snow sticks to my huge red coat like a third layer, My thick black UGG winter boots crunching in the snow, and any stray strands of hair were so frozen that there were even bits of frosted ice forming in my sandy-brown curls.

Black smoke rises into the sky from the burning village before me, turning the sky black, and the fire did nothing to warm me up, if anything, it made me feel colder. So cold, my heart was shattering in my chest, sending tears of pain to my large crazed eyes.

It scares me how still I am as if I'm frozen in place, and I think it must be shock. That's why there's a faint smile on my face, and even though my eyes are watering, I start to laugh. I laugh so hard I have to bend over and clutch onto my waist in pain.

My laughs turning into gut-wrenching sobs that tear through my chest, and I cover my face with shaky hands. They're gone, they're all gone. I'd failed, and now I'm paying the price.

A loud bell sounds in the distance, and I hear the clomping of horse hooves, the rhythmic sound of millions of soldiers coming for me. The sound of him coming for me. The man I'd been running from for so long had finally caught up to me.
