5 Walking Nightmares

It has finally arrived, the hated day. Teras was awaiting their attendance a bloody loathsome thing he would say if anyone asked for his opinion. But Aaro had one whole week to overcome his reluctance and now he had to wake his darling sister, who hated the whole experience much more than him.

Lilith was a complicated character, at one moment she could be the most adorable and the innocent thing in the world then in the next second she would turn into a manic devil who waked fear in men twice her size.

He could still remember the day he swore he would be her protector. The day had been a nightmare for both of them.

Unlike in the ridiculous myths and catholic believes, the gods did not create just one pair of humans to walk first on the earth. No, it had been thirteen pairs, all with otherworldly beauty and grace, innocent and pure as newborns as they walked on the Earth, accompanied by their companions.

Gods' had bestowed them gifts, for every year they survived in the new world they've given rewards. First, it had been knowledge of the world they resided in, then it had been fire, and then many more before they were handed over locked boxes.

The Gods had wanted to test them, so unlike the other years, it had been Haides and Elektra, the Great God of darkness and Goddess of Light who had rewarded them. Presenting the humans with two beautiful boxes, the two gods had warned just to take care of them, but not to open at any condition.

The humans abided by the gods' advice listening to the beings who created them.

More than a year later it was time for another reward. Being the first of the mortal species the thirteen pairs had been immortal, their days becoming more and more monotonous as the years passed.

So when the gods came forward with the intention of granting them with children and fertility the humans had jumped at the chance eager to accept, eager to have more of their kind.

But as always vast changes always brought along consequences with them. So the price the humans had to pay for the gift of fertility was their immortality. But it was something the pairs welcomed with open arms.

They craved a change, and once the chance was presented they did not hesitate to accept.

As promised the thirteen pairs conceived, the women becoming round with child, the men becoming more protecting of their partner.

One evening when the men were away hunting the women had as always banded together talking about their days, but eventually, it had shifted to the gifts they had received from the gods throughout the years, which brought up the topic of the sealed boxes.

The more they had thought of them, the more intrigued they had become. But heeding the gods' warnings they abstained from taking any action.

Days passed, now the women were more than a month pregnant, as their bellies increased so did their curiosity. Finally on once again when the men were out they decided to give in to their curiosity of opening the boxes.

Six had approached the black one with golden designs, while the other seven had approached the white one with silver designs.

After much fearful attention, they had broken the lock, slowly yet carefully the lids to the boxes were opened at the same time, and just like that the black and white shadows locked within them were finally let free.

And thus, The Sins and The Virtues were born, the first humans' children becoming the vessel as their real spirit left the world.

Of course, the consequences for their actions had been dire, the gods had been angered, separating the women from their men, cursed to live alone till their death.

Finally when the day of birthing arrived the women safely gave birth but one of them carried two babies within her. Her labor had been harsh but worth the gift of twins.

Like that, two years had passed, the mothers on one end of the earth and the fathers on the other end. The men did try to reach them but natural disaster would happen when they attempted so fearing for their family's lives they had stayed put, until one day the gods finally pardoned them. Taking pity on their miserable lives.

The children were already two years old, but due to their very young age, the fathers were soon accepted. The couples were happy thinking the difficult times were finally over but the nightmares came in the form of their beloved children.

At the age of five, they've come to their full powers, and with the volatile childish emotions, the eruption of power had been drastic. The pure earth had been corrupted by the sins but the virtues had been there to balance them.

But the damages were already done, seeing their abnormality the parents feared them.

And fear always brought the most volatile behavior out of people. It had not been any different at the time.

The loud ring of the bell indicating the morning hour snapped Aaro out of his reverie of the past. Half of which he himself experienced the other through the records the gods had kept.

Shaking off the memories he slowly pushed open Lilu's door only to stop short mouth agape, face flushing red in anger.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" Sloth roared ready to spring himself on the intruder. There he stood the Great God of Life caressing the face of his beautiful sleeping sister lovingly as if his world revolved around her.

"Zohar, you bastard, I do not care if you are a god but take your uncouth hands off her!" Aaro spoke trying to calm down his anger while the said god just casually stepped back before looking at him indifferently.

"Mind your tongue Sloth." The admonishment slapped onto Aaro the power behind it making him almost reel, finally coming into his senses.

Bloody hell! Of all the people he had to curse... but the evildoer was in Lilu's room, how can he as her brother sit still.

"I apologize," Aaro muttered reluctantly head bowing slightly to show his sincerity but immediately straightened again this time glaring.

"What are you doing here?"

"Nothing." The god whispered his eyes resting on the sleeping beauty for a minute, the usually cold silver eyes softening a fraction the longer he stared. But knowing they had company Zohar looked away eyes once again hardening, the coldness returning.

"I have overstayed my welcome. I will be returning, do try to behave at the academy." With that, the god was gone leaving behind a bewildered Aaro, who could not comprehend what he just saw.

The bloody god cared for his sister. The realization took him by surprise, for Zohar always acted especially indifferent to Lilu usually. And now if he had not seen for himself the emotions the god hid behind his mask of indifference Aaro would have been forever in the dark too.

No wonder he was so interested in the lot of them.

This cannot do he would have to assign someone to watch over his sister, not that it would do any good with the god. But still, he had to try.

With a sneer he thought of Zohar's parting words, 'I have overstayed my welcome' he says as if he was welcomed in the first place.

"Ro? Is that you?" Lilith's sleepy voice gained his attention then.

"I came to wake you up." He murmured trying to show any abnormality.

"Really? You were just staring off into space now." Lilith mused laughter twinkling in her dark red eyes.

"Yeah, yeah, you know-it-all. Now get up we have a very long day ahead of us." Aaro muttered amused before hightailing out of his sister's room, afraid she would question him. He did not want to remind Lilith of the past or explain a certain god's shameless behavior.

"Weirdo," Lilith muttered seeing her brother's flustered ways. Then as she remembered what Aaro spoke of a sigh escaped her.

Lazily she got off the bed before taking a fresh shower. The lovely maids already made preparations for her departure, and knowing both Aaro and her hated too much crowd they had made them scarce after doing their work.

Walking out wrapped in a white fluffy towel Lilith found the uniform for Teras laid out on the bed. At the sight of it, an unintentional snort escaped her, it was bloody ridiculous.

White shirt, red ties, pleated short skirt, and a long black coat clinched slightly at the waist, with intricate golden designs decorating it with the Teras symbol in the middle of it. It was too many clothes, which meant too much work to do.

Shaking her head she put on one of her dresses, the skirt flaring outreaching her middle thigh showing off her legs, and the bodies snug to her body outlining her perky breasts. The sleeveless dress showing off her beauty perfectly, the red and black colors matching perfectly with her ivory satin skin.

The platinum chain she always wore gleaming on her neck.

Wearing her long silver hair in a smooth high ponytail, and dressing in black heeled ankle boots, Lilith finally adorned the school coat.

Presentable enough.

With that, she breezed out of the room ready to get this over with.

Tilting her head to the side giving Amara better access so that she could put on the red studded earrings she has been too lazy to put on Lilith gazed out of the widow of the Limo they were traveling.

Just like her, the others have also forgone the ridiculous uniform, they were not simple teenagers to wear pleated pants and skirts.

They were as old as the earth, the bloody academy was being disrespectful sending them inadequate clothes.

"Perfect." Amara hummed happily after seeing her Lilu with the earings she brought, before smoothing down her purple fitted dress which reached her knees, her midnight blue hair curled to perfection.

"Thank you." Lilith beamed at her sister before asking the question which had been plaguing her mind the whole time.

"What exactly does Zohar want the academy to teach us? I do not think anyone with the capability of teaching us lives." She spoke and Amara shrugged not having really thought of it.

"It is his another attempt at punishing us. He knows we loath the place hence our required attendance. We are sent their time to tame our ways not to study anything."

The two girls shared a look, "Tame our ways?" Lilith asked in a whisper and like that whole lot of them were doubling over in laughter, their superior hearing aiding them in hearing the girls' silly conversation.

"Right. Good luck with that." Col sniggered at the mere notion.

"Zohar is out of his mind if he has any such thoughts." Pride agreed, laughing in amusement.

"I think he does not particularly like me. He always is ignoring me or staring at me harshly as if I've stolen his bloody throne." Lilith huffed annoyance creeping in at the thought of the god.

So cold towards her. But what everyone failed to notice was the change in Aaro's usually placid face at Lilith's words.

'All secrets, in good time...'

A black limo skidded to a smooth stop within the greeny garden the Teras's doors facing the arrival of the vehicle.

In front of the door were seven teenagers, at least physically they looked so, dressed perfectly to the school code dress, the only difference while the other students adorned purple coats they wore white coats decorated with silver designs and the Teras symbol in the middle.

They all stared at the Limo, waiting for the seven to get down.

And when they did all sighed in annoyance, leave it up to them to disregard even academy attire.

Seven figures got down the car, looking enchantingly evil all the while glaring at the seven waiting for them.

They gracefully walked forward stopping in front of the virtues, the sins glared their moods dampening.

While the fourteen eyed each other the students who have been mingling around have now stood still looking at the scene with awed eyes.

Living with The Seven virtues they've thought they have already witnessed all the beauty in the world but now upon seeing the sins their believes had been skewed.

The men all dressed in fitted slacks and expensive shirts, the black school coats they were adorning complemented their physic nicely. Each of them different from each other but the otherworldly beauty unforgettable. The girls drooled and the boys tamped down their jealousy discreetly glaring at them, but too fearful to say anything.

And then there were the two girls, both dressed in dresses of their picking and just like the boys the black coats covering their shoulders. One tall and curvy, midnight-blue hair fluttering in the wind while her dark eyes promised pleasure and the other slender and petite, long silver hair at her back and dark red eyes looking around lazily, they were visions to behold.

"Long time no see." Diligence greeted staring at the seven devils in front of him inwardly sighing at the students' disgraceful behavior. And the seven had not even leaked even a tiny bit of power yet

"A pleasure I'm sure." Aaro said back breezily eyeing him lazily, "Shall we make a move? We do not want to stare at your faces all day long." Col continued a smirk playing at his lips.

"What are you doing asking? Let's go." Lilith stressed then waving her hand dismissing them as she skidded past the virtues the rest of the sins following behind her completely disregarding their presence.

Pride stopped at the last minute before turning to them seriously.

"It would do you good to stay out of our way this time. I'm sure you could spend a year without bothering us." Pride stated before walking way himself, the words not a request but a command.

"That went well." Patience broke the heavy silence when nobody spoke. The sins have not changed one bit.

"Yeah. Let's hope this keeps up. Because I have a feeling we've just welcomed a bunch of walking nightmares." Abstinence muttered giving others a look and they nodded back a solemn look on their faces.
