36 Ms. Yuka Koch

"Yuka Koch. She and her friend Katie Hopkins were attacked about two weeks ago at a convenience store not far from here. Katie was a high step, so she was able to make an opportunity for Yuka to get away, but not herself. Katie's been missing ever since. I picked it out because I thought it sounded really similar to what happened to you and Cassidy. It was reported to the police, but it got brushed under the rug, like most things that involve Ebony do." Alec frowned down at his notepad before looking up at the luxury house that stood before them.

"Man though, she sure is loaded." Waze whistled looking at the property.

"Her dad owns a car company. I called and told them what happened to you and Cassidy, and that we were looking for information. They should be expecting us."

"They did let us in at the gate, which I was a bit surprised about." Waze had never really been in a upscale neighborhood like this before.

"I would hope so, they know we're coming. Yuka's supposed really shaken up about the event, so let's be careful with our words. Hopefully we can find out some valuable information." Alec looked at Waze and they both nodded.

"Let's do this."

Alec had split the group up into pairs, and of course Waze and him were together as a team. They had taken the bus as far as they could to a gated community up on the north side town. Apparently the Yuka girl had been at a sleepover at Katie Hopkins's house and they were attacked when they were on at the store. Since Yuka's family is so wealthy, they'd been able to afford protection for the young girl. And now, Alec and Waze were off to interview Yuka on what she had seen that night, and cross reference it with Waze's account.

Waze knocked loudly on the door and took a step back, waiting for an answer. She fiddled with the hem of her shirt as she waited, Alec looking equally nervous. It was a sensitive topic, and they had to be careful not to upset Yuka or they'd lose one of their best sources of information. The large door creaked open and a man in a three piece suit peeked out.

"Ah, you must be Mr. Alec, I assume." The man gave Waze and Alec a polite smile.

"Yes, that's me. This is my friend Waze, she's the one I was talking about over the phone." Waze waved awkwardly and muttered a 'nice to meet you'.

"I'm Mack, Ms. Yuka's butler and bodyguard." Waze was slightly surprised at that, people like this actually existed. Though, Waze guessed it wasn't all that surprising that the girl should have a bodyguard after what had happened a couple weeks prior.

"Please, come inside. I'll go tell Ms. Yuka you are here." The man opened the door and waited for Alec and Waze to enter before closing it behind them. He swiftly walked off down a hallway near the entrance, leaving Waze and Alec standing awkwardly in front of the door.

"I guess we'll just... wait here?" Waze looked at Alec with a confused expression but he looked the same, merely giving Waze a small nod.

Waze looked around at the house she was in, it was just as ornate on the inside as it looked on the outside. Damn rich people.

"Ah, you are Alec, then?" A young girl walked out from the hall. She wore a long-sleeve cotton yellow dress that came down to her shins. Her brown hair hung in a fluffy bob that sat right below her chin. In all aspects of the word, she was pretty.

"Yes, that's me. And uh, this is Waze she's the one I was talking about who..."

"I understand." Yuka gave Waze a small wave before turning and waving her hand. "You can come with me."

Alec and Waze paced down the hallway after Yuka before they came into a small sitting area with lavish couches and a low glass coffee table. Yuka took a seat on the couch and gestured for Waze and Alec to do the same. Mack took a position standing over Yuka, and once they were comfortably seated, Alec began speaking.

"You are, Yuka then, I presume?" Alec said. Yuka nodded and smiled. "It's very nice to meet you." Alec nervously gripped his notebook and brought it into his lap. "As you may know, we're here to talk about what happened with two weeks ago with you and your friend." Yuka fell silent for a moment, staring at the ground with somber eyes. Waze decided to break the awkward silence.

"If you want, I'll go first." Yuka looked up at Waze in slight surprise. "About a week ago, I was at the convenience store with a good friend of mine, she's also a girl. We were sitting behind the store when we were attacked by a group of men dressed in all black. Luckily, my friend and I both have a lot of martial arts training, so we were able to escape. I actually broke my foot and got a bad cut on my hand, and we were both banged up pretty bad. Since then, we've been looking into everything we could about Ebony. We need to figure out what happened before they strike again."

Yuka nodded before clearing her throat.

"What happened to me was very similar. My friend Katie and I were behind a store after dark when we were attacked by three men. Luckily, she's powerful enough that she gave me a window to escape. She wasn't so lucky. I ran straight back to her house, and called the police immediately." Yuka gritted her teeth and scowled. "The police won't do anything though. They say they're looking into it, but they barely even interviewed me. They don't seem to care at all." Waze narrowed her eyes and shuffled through her bag before pulling out a piece of paper.

"Did you happen to see a mark like this on any of them...?" Waze held up a rough sketch of the E she had seen on the men that she had given to all the other teams. Yuka's eyes widened.

"Yes! That exact symbol was on the one man's arm..."

"The group who attacked you is called Ebony, you may have heard a bit about them in the news. They've been targeting girls all over this area for a while now. I don't know what's up with the police, but they haven't been doing anything about it. So me and my group of friends are looking into it. There's ten of us including Alec and I, and most of us are high-steps with combat training." Waze looked at Yuka who was wearing an expression of mixed disbelief and fear. "I need you to tell me everything you know, because my friends and I are going to take down Ebony."
