44 Escape

Waze's body was stiff with tension. She gulped out of nervousness. The majority of the room was still relatively bubbly, but among Waze and her teammates, there was only apprehension. The air hung heavy between them. They all stood at the wall by the doorway, waiting for it to open. Waze rolled up her sleeve and checked the time again. 10:27. Any minute now, that door would open and it was go time. They planned on slipping out behind the men once they were inside, and then bolting to the exit where they were meeting the boys. They had to be sure that no one trailed them there, though.

Waze could feel her pulse hammering throughout her body.

The door opened.

"Alright, got your dinner, girlies!" The men walked in and slammed down more cardboard boxes. Waze tiptoed out behind them, silent as a mouse. Her teammates followed behind. Once they were out, they quickly shut the door behind them and flipped the lock.

Waze heard the startled yells of the men inside and their frantic pounding on the door, but Waze had already wedged an iron pipe through the handles. The men inside weren't her problem right now, though. Waze looked around her at the men in front of her, who were looking quite angry.

"You little girls are gonna regret doing that."

"What are you, stupid? You really think you can get away? Even if you were to get out of this building, and you aren't going to, you're in the middle of no where and wouldn't be able to get anywhere."

"Hm, if getting out of here was our only goal we wouldn't have come here in the first place." Waze grinned.

"W-what are you saying?" Waze scanned the angry men. There was about five of them, easy enough for Waze and her friends to take. This would be a piece of cake.

"What I'm saying is," Waze relaxed into her fighting stance, "you picked the wrong girls to kidnap."

Waze slid her foot back, and then dashed forward, her fist flying towards his face. The man was startled for a moment before dodging to the side. He seemed pretty good. He whipped his arms around and pulled two glowing orange swords from the air. Waze grinned. This would be quite the fight. She ran forward, raising her foot up for a front kick. The man smirked and brought his sword towards her leg, but at the last second she spun around and swept his feet out from under him.

He hit the ground hard and groaned for a moment before scrambling back to his feet. Before he could stand up fully, Waze grabbed each of his wrists, forcing his swords away from her, and yanked him towards her. As he came towards her, Waze brought her forehead up and slammed it into his face. He tried to yank back and bring his hands to his bleeding face in surprise, but Waze held tight on his wrists and instead yanked his face back down, slamming it into her knee. Double hit. As the man stumbled back, his sword flashed toward her face.

Had Waze been an ordinary person, she would've been dead. Instead, the sword came in slow motion. It was part of her godly powers, at moments like this in a fight the world slowed down. Waze saw the sword flying toward her, and she ducked underneath it before ramming her body into the man, slamming him into the wall. She took a step back to look at him.

He was panting and bleeding heavily from his face where she had hit him twice. He seemed to be in quite a bit of pain from both slamming into the ground and the wall. Waze decided to go for the finishing hit. She slid her leg back, then spun around. Someone had once told her that one good kick to the temple could knock someone out. It was true.

When Waze's foot made contact with the man's head, he immediately dropped to the ground. He looked like he might be struggling to wake up, but he wasn't going to any time soon. Waze glanced around her to see how her friends were doing.

Everyone was done already. Byrd seemed to be excessively thanking Cassidy for helping her out, and the other two were stretching as if they hadn't done anything. They looked at the pile of men in front of them before their attention was turned to the banging from the door.

"Looks like that won't hold out much longer." Michelle frowned at their makeshift 'barricade' that held the door handles shut.

"Let's move." Cassidy gestured over her shoulder before she turned and started jogging down the hall. The others looked to each other with stern expressions before nodding and continuing on.

They jogged for a while, occasionally stopping to hide behind corners as they passed by different guards.

Eventually they came up to the exit where the boys were supposedly waiting outside. Waze jiggled the handle. It was locked.

"Here, use this. I swiped it off the guard earlier." Waze took the key and jammed it in the door, surprised to find that it worked.

"Maybe it's a master key," Waze said.

"They probably keep all the locks around here the same for the sake of convenience." Cassidy pushed open the door after Waze unlocked it.

The girls stepped out and glanced around. Waze's face lit up as she saw the boys gathered on the ground.

"You guys are here!" Waze laughed and approached the group.

"What, you think we'd just ditch you or something?" Duke grinned up at Waze.

The group exchanged hugs and hellos, the girls complaining about how shitty it had been inside and the boys commenting on how they weren't exactly surprised.

"Alright, let's go over the plan." Things turned serious as Alec spoke. Waze was a bit surprised he had come, but he said he would be staying out of the thick of battle and it was good to have someone to coordinate things.

"First off, take these." Alec handed everyone out bluetooth ear buds. "They've got microphones on them. Like in spy movies, you know. Hold the button here and people can hear you." Alec gestured on the item and they all put them into their ears.

"Sweet." Waze grinned. They were really getting into it now.

"Alright, plan time." Alec rubbed his hands together. "We're splitting up into three groups. The main group is Duke, Marco, Michelle, Sable, and Byrd. You five are going to go get all the girls who have been kidnapped. Once you get the girls, one or two of you escort them back here where Collin, James, and I will be waiting. We'll take care of them from there. After that, you five's job is to basically wreak havoc all over the building and be a distraction for Waze and Cassidy. While you guys are causing trouble, Waze and Cassidy will find out where Egar is from one of the guards and then go after him. Once they take him down, we'll call in the police. Got it?" Everyone nodded. "Alright, then. Let's do this."
