48 Boss Battle

Waze opened the door and stepped into the room. As she looked inside, she attempted not to groan. The man standing inside was helping himself to a cup of coffee and glanced up at Waze as she stepped in. He was six feet of pure muscle.

"Ah, you must be the girl I was told about. Please, come in." Waze stepped in and flicked the lock behind her. The man's eyes followed her hands as she did so, clearly noticing. However, he didn't seem to care and neglected to comment.

"You must be Mr. Egar. It's very nice to meet you." Waze gave him a sweet smile. Egar returned it. He took a long sip of his coffee before turning to wander around the room as he spoke.

"You know, some silly things are happening in the casino right now." Waze tensed. So he knew what was going on. "First, I get word that five girls have broken out and are running rampant, then I'm told that a bunch of kids are breaking out the remaining girls, and leading them out of the hotel. Quite silly, no?"

"I suppose silly is a word you might use to describe it." Waze didn't put the emphasis on 'you' out loud, but in her head it was there.

"So, then to top it all off, a strange girl shows up at my door requesting to see me. Now, if you were me, what would you make of this?" Egar turned to look at Waze with an expectant expression. His movements were relaxed, and he seemed in no hurry to get into any fighting. But based on his words, Waze knew he was expecting it.

"Quite a predicament, indeed. There is the dilemma of whether to turn away the girl in concern of your own safety, or to let her in and deal with her yourself. I suppose it depends on your confidence in your own abilities versus your confidence in your subordinates. It seems clear where yours lies." Waze flashed the man another innocent smile.

"You seem very smart. Though, I have to admit, it isn't very smart for the lamb to walk into the lion's den."

"Well, what kind of lamb could even make it to the lions den?"

"That is the question, isn't it?" Egar relaxed onto the bed in the center of the room and took another long sip of his coffee. "I suppose it's something I'll just have to find out, isn't it? Though, despite what kind of lamb it is, the lion is still a lion." Egar smirked up at Waze.

"And he will never be more than a lion." Waze looked carefully at Egar. "You seem like an honest enough man, how about we make a deal?"

"I'm listening," Egar said. Waze smiled. Hopefully, he would agree. And then, hopefully, he would follow through on the deal.

"If you beat me here, I'll do whatever you want. No bounds." Egar tilted his head and stroked his chin in consideration. "If I win, then you have to tell me everything you know about the other branches of Ebony as well as the leader of Ebony."

"Hmm... sounds good enough to me. I have no intentions to lose, however." Egar gave Waze a picture perfect smile. She'd say it was creepy if she wasn't doing the same thing. Scratch that, it was still creepy.

"I intend on winning as well."

"Well then, let's get started, shall we, little lamb?" Waze smiled. This was it, the final fight. The boss battle. She tensed, and readied herself to fall into her fighting stance. She watched very carefully as Egar stroked his fingers along a stone sculpture before the material oozed of the sculpture and climbed up his hand. Waze watched in awe as the stone wrapped itself around Egar's hand. He pulled away from the sculpture and clenched his hand into a fist. The stone morphed between various shapes of spikes and blocks. Waze stiffened. A hit from that could be the end of her journey. Hell, a hit from him at all could end her. And she was fairly sure a normal punch of hers wouldn't do much to his rock-solid body. Despite it, she slid into her fighting stance.

"Let's go, then," Egar said.

He dashed forward so quickly Waze could barely see him. She saw his fist nearing her face in seconds, and if it weren't for her ability he would've knocked her out then and there. She quickly dodged to the side and pulled her fists up in front of her face. Egar snapped back from his hit, landing in a solid fighting stance. He wasn't going to be easy to take out like the other guards were. He was a true fighter.

Waze dashed in and brought her leg up to slam it into his side. He quickly ducked out of the way and stepped out of range of her. He reached out his hand and Waze barely stepped to the side as his hand gripped closed on the air next to her. He would've crushed her skull. Another hit towards her face that she side stepped. Another kick towards his torso that he eluded. They continued like this for a while, both dodging out of the way of each others attacks. Finally, Waze tried a different approach.

As Waze swung her leg in for a kick, she dropped it to the ground and spun it outward, sweeping Egar's legs out from under him. He hit the ground with a loud thud but quickly got up again. As Egar was rising, Waze brought her knee into his face. She slid her leg back and focused all her energy into her foot, spinning around in a roundhouse kick. Her foot neared his face, before Waze felt something cold and hard interrupt it. Waze heard the sound of stone shattering as her foot slammed into his fist that shielded his face.

Egar's hand quickly dashed out and grabbed Waze's leg before she could bring it down. He turned and whipped Waze by her leg, slamming her into the wall. Waze fell to the ground. As she started to get up, she felt his fist slam into her stomach. Even though the stone had broken, his hit was still monstrous. Waze felt herself crumple to the ground as her vision went black.
