15 Chapter 15: Taking In A Disciple

<At the cave, the AI does a thorough brain, eye, and even a full body scan before concluding.>

<That Fuze's eyes have a unique mutation that cannot be replicated through artificial interventions.>

<Coolio also learns that the only way that he can get these eyes would be through an operation. The equipment alone would take months to prepare.>

<The procedure was not guaranteed success but only had a 20 percent chance of success. The operation would also have to be done on both eyes as the power wouldn't flow correctly otherwise.>

John sighed and decided that the risk of going blind was too high and that he had a long simulation ahead. Besides, he felt a moral conflict in stealing a kid's eyes away.

Sike, you fell for that. John didn't care even a 0.01 percent about the kid as he only cared about getting stronger. After all, this was a simulation, and they weren't real-life forms, right?

John decided to use Fuze as a backup plan in case he needed the help of an illusionist one day.

<You splashed water on Fuze's head, and he jolted up. Fuze asked you, "where he was." You tell him that he was at your underground bunker.>

<He gets scared and tries to run away. You stop him with just your aura. You then reveal your true identity, and Fuze immediately recognizes you as the fourth prince who fought a monster from the outside.>

<You let out a chuckle and announced that you had decided to accept Fuze as your disciple.>

<You gave him an option. He could return to his everyday life of getting bullied or live in the shadows and become invincible.>

<He, as expected, decides to become your disciple, and you promise him that he will, in a couple of years, be able to beat up his bully into a pulp. He gets excited and has glee in his eyes.>

<You personally guide him for the rest of the week and come up with a perfect plan for him.>

<Year 7, Month 1: Fuze has been training according to your plan for a month. His power level also grows exponentially from 125 to 3000>

John sighs, "Ah, the Frost Demon race brimming with potential. It kind of sad that they are so lazy and arrogant that they don't like training."

"Then again, who am I to judge after learning under Gohan and seeing Master Roshi teaching (from What If Chapter) have improved my training methods."

"Not forgetting now I even have an assistant AI who has a good knowledge of my body and helps formulate training plans."

<As Fuze has crossed the 3,000 mark, it is now safe to train him in his paramount ability, the Illusion Arts.>

<You then told Fuze the real purpose of the goggles he wears at night. He is left stunned and gets eager to explore this new power.>

John smiles, "He reached three thousand at the right moment as just yesterday the AI finished constructing the addition training geat."

<You then tell him to finish today's training and come find you.>

<At late noon, Fuze comes and finds you in your training room and is astonished by your fabulous Martian Form.>

John -" I swear I thought he would have seen it by now, but I guess his training ground is quite far from here."

(Side Note - In case you are confused, both train in different wastelands, as Fuze would be suppressed by Coolio's heavy aura.)

<You then try to help guide Fuze to consciously awaken the energy residing in his eyes. It flares up but then stops.>

<Year 7, Month 1, Week 1: After a week of practice, Fuze can finally launch the illusion arts but can only maintain it for 2 seconds.>

John - "It's just the start. I am sure he will slowly improve. There is also the question of how long it affects enemies."

<You decide to test this new idea out. You tell Fuze that he will be tested today and to come to find you in the cave after training.>

<Coolio heads out to catch a live polar bear, one of the most common animals on his planet.>

<He finds and brings an excellent strong-looking adult Polar Bear back to his cave, the polar bear is caught in a net and struggles to escape.>

John whispers, "I am doing all this for science."

<Fuze arrives at the cave and finds you sitting beside a well-behaved polar bear. Feeding him fish.>

<Coolio then requests Fuze to use his ability on the Polar Bear. Fuze does as instructed, and you put the Polar Bear in a see-through cage to see how he reacts.>

<The Polar Bear stands still like he is entirely unconscious, and then after 10 seconds, he finally wakes up.>

<He starts screaming violently and attacks you both. You freeze the Polar Bear with your aura and see him up close to see the fright in its eyes.>

<You then let the AI note that Fuze's power has a 1:5 second ratio and mark it as not confirmed.>

<The entire next month, you bring various different creatures and see the same results. So it is officially confirmed.>

<You now know the true nature of the technique, it doesn't freeze one's body but the consciousness, so this technique was not as useful in combat as expected.>

John - "As a seasoned warrior's body would still be able to dodge attacks by sensing danger. It would still make it easier to fight enemies who are moving by instinct.

"So basically, this technique is auxiliary as it is almost useless against more powerful opponents as your opponent can still dodge attacks."

"Looks like our master and disciple pairing was made by the heavens itself."

"He needs someone strong to beat the frozen opponent, and I need a few extra seconds to land a deadly blow."
