11 Rosalia's School Festival

Rosalia:" Tomorrows the school festival, I'm honestly really excited for it, it's gonna be a blast."

Christina:" Woah you're as hyper as ever, I don't know where you get all tha energy from."

Rosalia:" hehe it's not always a good thing to be hyperactive all the time though."

"Ring! Ring!"

As the bell for last period rang, students packed their bags, chatter abounded amongst classes, students rushed to leave school to hang out at malls and have good time. Some rushed home to game, others stayed in school to add the finishing touches to their classes booths and activities.

2nd year classrooms

Daniel:" Class 2-E hasn't confirmed their time slots....Rosalia, what's she doing here?"

Carefully approaching, Daniel saw Rosalia standing at the door of a second year class, it was odd seeing the hyperactive girl he knew so patiently and silently waiting.

Lex: " Sorry sis did you wait long?"

Daniel:( Sis? Woah I heard about her brother but wait, isn't that..."

??:" Lex see you tomorrow man!"

??:" Yea its gonna be a blast."

??: " Don't forget to show up to clubs booth as well alright?"

Lex:" haha of course guys don't worry, I'll be sure to be there and of course it's gonna be a blast." Smiling so cheerfully and happily Lex exclaimed with excitement to his friends.

Daniel:( Wow quite the popular one is he and that smile, it ticks me off for some reason. The smile of a popular boy. Nice to everyone, caring and always ready to help anyone, common trait of popular boys like him, good for him he's able to act however he wants without having to be afraid of being judged.)

Staring at Lex, Daniel couldn't help but glance over towards Rosalia. For probably one of the few times ever, Rosalia wasn't wearing a smile, instead she wore a look that could only be described as sick, sick of something to be more specific. Daniel couldn't help but wonder what that was.

Rosalia:" Can we head home now?"

Lex:" Oh of course sorry about that."

Rosalia:" No problem"

Rosalia and Lex were siblings, but anyone who knew one but not the other would never be able to tell that, the two were polar opposites, perhaps even incompatible were you to put them together. Lex was an outgoing, caring and very extroverted person while Rosalia despite being loud and obnoxious at times, kept to herself more than most people think. While she normally wore a cheerful smile at all times, she carried with her an aura of overlooming sadness as if trying to escape from something.

Rosalia:" We're home"

May:" Welcome back, put your bags down and take a shower, of course let Lex go first."

Rosalia:" I know..."

Walking to her room and sitting down on the floor, Rosalia sat on the floor and stared at the ceiling. Staring at her report card with aimless eyes, she wondered what punishment she would face this time. She was never the brightest student and exams were never her thing but so far she had bedn able to produce decent grades. But this time things were different, she was very unprepared for the test and ended up flunking.

May:" Rosalia, I heard you got your report card, could you let me see it?"

With her hands trembling and head lowered down, Rosalia handed the card to her mothers curious gaze. As she read through the card, her anticipated look changed to a ghastly pale white. Slowly closing the door, her mother looked up and faced the trembling and fearful Rosalia

May:" Is this some kind of joke?"

Rosalia:"No"

May:" Grades like these are unacceptable in this family, look at your brother, his grades are soaring and has a bright future. What do you do everyday, sit around and laze and wate your life away. DO YOU TREAT ME AS A JOKE, MY WORDS AREN'T IMPORTANT? I'M THE WOMAN WHO RAISED YOU."

Rosalia:"......"

Standing there quietly, Rosalia took insult after insult, the hail of insults just kept coming. She couldn't say anything, anything she did try to say would get shut down. Such was the law of the house that any arguement made against a parent would immediately be branded as disrespect.

After an hour of being lectured and scolded while listening to her parents list out her brothers achievements and her failures. Rosalia walked back to her room and lay next to her bed on the mat and stared at the ceiling. This wasn't the first time nor was it the last time she would get chewed at for something. She was used to it all, the comparisons between her and her brother and her parents constantly harsh words that tore her already fragile ego apart.

Tears began to drip down one by one as she leaned her face towards the ground. She felt angry, disappointed, abandoned and sad. The dripping of tears soon turned into to more of a stream as she tried her hardest to hold it in, to no avail, the harder she tried to hold in the tears the more they would stream out.

Rosalia:" That's weird, I thought by now I would get used to this, it's been like what the 12th time, come on stop crying already, stop being such an insecure ass and suck it up and move on."

"Ring!"

Having been interrupted of this very private moment, Rosalia was slightly stunned, she quickly wiped the tears away. Dried her nose and picked up the call

Rosalia:" What's up!?"

Daniel:" It's me, I have a favour to ask of you."

Rosalia:" Woah what's up with the formalities, are you sure you're not an imposter."

Daniel:" I need you to take charge of one of the violin performances tomorrow."

Rosalia:" huh? What do you mean?"

Daniel:" Tomorrow, the two instrument clubs are performing, I just received a message from the leader of the violin section that he's down with a cold and they need a replacement. I saw his list of underclassmen and decided you should be the replacement."

Rosalia:" eh, no way no way I'm not ready for this I can't lead the whole section to play the violin in the school festival performance."

Daniel:" Come on you're my last hope, everyone else is already asleep and I won't have time to contact them tomorrow, do it for me please.?"

Rosalia:" Isn't Lex in violin ask him to take over or something."

Daniel:" Yea but he's with the other club he is leading the violins in the other instrument club, could get some good sbling rivalry in there."

Immediately a chord struck Rosalia, her parents would be there tomorrow to watch Lex perform, if she were to be present and steal the show. Her parents would finally respect and acknowledge her and pay more attention to her. This way something she always wanted as well. A way to overcome the massive inferiority she felt towards her brother. She had to do this, no. She must do it, it was like such a perfect opportunity for her to prove herself once and for all. To finally show those who thought of her as nothing more than someone living in her brothers shadow that they were wrong.

Rosalia:" I'll do it. Don't expect much though."

Daniel:" Why do you and Michael say the exact same thing?" Daniel proclaimed laughing weirdly.

Daniel:" Thanks appreciate it."

That night while laying in bed Rosalia wondered and pondered how to outshine her brother in tomorrows performance, and thr curtain rises on the school festival.
