4: Lizard's Inspection

"Woah, to think we got to fight those ghosts is really worth it for our time, just look at this mansion!"

"Agreed, they served a nice meal as well. The owl seems a bit spooky, though."

"Yo, you can't just talk about them when they are around. Look, they are giggling!"

There's a lot of noise from outside the lizard's room. Tirus looks like holding his annoyance, he is the type that doesn't like a lot of noises when it is his bedtime. He moves his body to be sleeping on his side while covering his exposed ear, facing Arowu directly.

"Ar Ar, it is so noisy outside. Damn it!" Tirus whispers while gritting his teeth.

"It is normal though, we know lots of the other newborns will be in the same place later. Just bear with it, Us Us." Arowu smiles, still closing his eyes.

"This mansion room isn't really that soundproof, huh." Tirus sighed, now sleeping on his own stomach.

But then, them two eventually sleep. The night is really noisy at this time, so it is understandable if some newborn stays up in their room until they fell asleep late.

Three hours later, at 1 AM in the midnight, Arowu seems to be annoyed by a mosquito that been roaming around his cheek. Smack! Arowu slapped himself, and the mosquito flew away safely.

"Silly moquitouu, dares to..." Arowu seems to be in a little dizziness by his sudden waking up.

Arowu looked at his side, there seem to be Tirus sleeping soundly. His exposed back there makes Arowu moves the blanket to cover him nicely.

"I should just make some more rune for ghost repellant." Just as he pulled out the paper, Arowu's eye widened for a bit.

"What is this... Second floor?" Arowu thought, reading the strange text that suddenly appeared on his paper. He thinks about inspecting there himself to find out something, but yeah, he is a scaredy-cat.

"Grr... Ar Ar. You still up?" Good timing, Tirus seems to be awoken by Arowu's small movement on the bed.

"Auoo, there's something strange with my paper. Let's have a look together, shall we?" Arowu suggested, Tirus nodded in agreement.

The two of them leaves the room, seems like there's not much people walking outside. Some of them maybe going to the toilet, or maybe visiting their teammate's room. The lizards planned to wake Varam and his wives up, but seems not necessary to do for them.

"This is confusing, where the hell is the lobby..." Tirus speaks in annoyance as he scratches his own neck.

"Seems like being a lizard is reducing our sense of direction." Arowu said.

"Shouldn't that be an opposite? Lizards are supposed to be having an excellent sense of direction." Tirus said, but Arowu just shrugs his own shoulder.

Suddenly, both of them found a stair, at the top of it seems like nothing. The stair seems leading to nothing at all. There's a single owl perched on the handrail. Was this owl a hint? Both of them have no idea. They are dumb.

"I feel like there's something interesting on these stairs." Tirus said, Arowu nods.

"Seems like you got some perception like ability, Us Us." Arowu replied as he takes a step to the stair.

"I think so too, Ar Ar." Tirus nods and followed Arowu.

The owl seems to not respond with anything as both of them walking beside it. The stair take a bit of a time, even after going out from the ceiling of that room before. Minutes later, they suddenly arrived inside a strange room, right from the step Tirus landed on.

"Woah, I didn't expect that..." Arowu seems to be the more surprised since it is so sudden for him.

"Auoo, look, bird skeletons..." Tirus pointed his claw to the nearby bones. "I am pretty sure, this is like a haunted room." He continues.

Arowu seems to take the hint one step ahead of Tirus, he writes out ghost repellant on his rune. He hands out one for Tirus, looks like both of them now had the same idea.

"I am not sure, if this will work out when we met something like ghost." Arowu said while writing some more.

"Ar Ar, I will inspect something on that fork." Tirus looked at the two different path, Arowu agreed to him.

As Tirus walk and peeps through the wall, he seems to notice something. He moves his hand, signalling Aruwo to come closer. Now, Aruwo can see it too, ghosts. The ghost looks small, with some blurry blue color.

"Can I attack them? They have no physical body though..." Tirus said, worried about it.

"Ghost is weak to something like exorcism, right?" Aruwo thinking about something, and then sticking a ghost repellant rune to the axe that Tirus holds right now. Tirus now looking more confident as he knew what Aruwo is planning.

"Don't strike right away, if they didn't attack. We better save some ener..." As Aruwo about to finish giving advice for Tirus. There's purple coloured ghost noticed their presence as they walk through the ghosts.

Tirus gasped as he felt like getting hit from his back. The ghost attack like bouncing its body to the target until they are dead. Aruwo seems to be able to dodge one of them that goes for his leg. The monster seems to be a little smart.

"Looks like they can aim to cripple us first, Us Us..." Aruwo say as he swing his paper of ghost repellant, but it didn't reach the ghost.

"Eat this, you backstabber ghost." Tirus on the other side successfully land a hit on top of the ghost. The ghost squeaked and got swollen by that one hit.

Tirus does a vertical swing and hit it once again, it got launched to the wall and fainted. Tirus seems to be confused that ghost can be fainted too.

"It took me two hits to take this dude down." Said Tirus proudly, then he looks at Arowu that tried his hardest to land a hit on the swift ghost.

"You... How about this?" Arowu getting annoyed and crumpled his paper, and throw it to the ghost. Luckily, it hit the poor ghost and then it is fainted.

"Took me one hit here." Arowu said proudly. "But longer," continued by Tirus.

The rune at Tirus' axe seems to be wearing off. Arowu quickly another one and sticking it to Tirus' axe. Not only the axe, but the shield too as he got hit from the back earlier. There's like five more purple coloured ghosts in front of them, ten more for blue ghosts, but the rune hidden the lizard presence from them.

"We got this, Ar Ar." Tirus smirks as he launched himself to the startled ghost.

"I can throw some too, hey." Arowu said.

They moved and defeated the ghosts cleanly. There's one last sneaky ghost about to attack Tirus from behind, but it died because it bumped into Tirus' shield that got the ghost repellant rune. The lizard cackled from what just happened to that ghost.

"It is a bit easy, huh?" Arowu said, wiping his sweat from his lower jaw.

"Yet, you are sweating?" Tirus chuckled.

"Yeah, yeah." Arowu shrugs his shoulder.

Arowu wanted to walk more further into the room, there's this stair again and a sign too beside it. There's a lot of web on the corner of the room. Tirus read the sign quickly.

"To the fourth floor." He said.

"So we are now at third floor? We just skipped the second floor, huh?" Tirus continued, makes Arowu wondered.

This mansion seems to be focusing on its spiritual concept. The mansion filled with ghosts as well. As Arowu about to step on the stair to the fourth floor. Tirus stopped him. Arowu looked at him confusedly.

"Did you sense something?" Arowu asked.

"Your bones flashed through my eyes the moment you stepped on this stair." Tirus widened his eye from what kind of horrifying imagery he got.

"Then, this is not the time we go There, I guess." Arowu patted Tirus' back, he looks like he understands what Tirus feels just now.

Tirus notice a strange looking book, and his thought is telling him to give this book to Arowu.

"This might do something, Ar Ar." Tirus handed a book to Arowu. He doesn't know what kind of text written here.

Arowu seems to understand it and reading through the book. Strangely, this book only got 2 papers on it.

"This is about ghost repellant." Arowu said, while Tirus listening to him. "Ghost space, huh?" Arowu continues.

"Auoo... I might know something about the second floor, Us Us..." said Arowu, grinning to Tirus.
