1 Chapter 1

As nightfall approached, a small shimmer shot across the sky.

No one noticed as this small shimmer shot up towards the mountains overlooking their town.

It gradually slowed down once there was enough cover thanks to the darkened sky, if one looked closely enough, they would see that this shimmer was something much larger.

It was a figure of a young girl who resembled what humans call Angels.

However, she was no Angel.

Hell, if you asked her, she would claim quite the opposite.

This battle was rough, glass was shattered everywhere. Images of the fire were burned into the backs of her eyelids.

The muscles of her wings were numb , the power from the explosion even affected her abnormally powerful wings.

Still airborne, her altitude waivered while her eyelids slowly began shutting on her. She struggled to hold the gaping wound on her abdomen from bleeding out further.

She knew her house was close, and relied purely on muscle memory alone to make it there.

As her eyelids began shutting permanently on her she felt the sudden impact onto her flat roof top, skidding across the rough concrete felt like sandpaper.

Deep scrapes gave her arms the appearance of grated flesh. The shock of the crash sobered her up within an instant. Eyes shot open wide at the second of impact while a shriek of pain reared from her throat.

Gasping for air once her body stopped from sliding, she screwed her eyes shut trying to concentrate on breathing. They flashed open once again, and her brows lowered in determination

The fact that she only crash landed on the top of her building instead of tearing through the tree branches with the possibility of impalement, was what she considered, lucky.

Staggering up, the flexing of her muscles underneath the damaged skin on her arms caused another cry of agony while she gritted her teeth and did her best to blink back the tears. She was on all fours now, heaving for air, trying to gain the strength in her legs to carry her since her arms felt useless.

Finally, she rose onto her feet, but her balance was swayed as she stumbled across the flat rooftop towards the metal banister that led to stairs.

She looked back to see where the bloody trail began.

"Great" she muttered bitterly with her damaged arm wrapped around her waist.
