27 Chapter 27 – Family Life

[2011 – December]

When Wanda woke up a few hours later, a light headache reminded her of the effort she had put into the magical enchantments on SILVER.

Truth be told, just enchanting the Uru to take on skin like qualities and allowing SILVER to feel touch and heat, like any other human wouldn't have been so exhausting.

Of course it wasn't only her skin, Wanda had also given her the ability to see with her eyes, hear with her ears and taste with her tongue - all things a machine couldn't do.

And while that may have been a huge strain on her magic, she had struggled the most to really bring SILVER to life.

Pietro hadn't realised it, but Wanda had clearly felt the mind inside the Vibranium body being incomplete. Her brother had told her of Ultron and Vision, along with the Infinity Stone that had played a large role in their creation.

Wanda had realised when she touched SILVER's form that without the Mind Stone, SILVER would probably stay incomplete forever. Creating an entire new life form, even a virtual one wasn't something so easy to achieve.

Pietro had no telepathic or mind-related abilities, except for his concealment-shroud and their bond, so he hadn't noticed it, but Wanda had.

She knew how important of a project this was for him and while he didn't tell her the exact reason, she could feel how much he needed it to be a success. It felt similar to her own need to resolve things with Stark, as if he was struggling to find some kind of closure.

And how could Wanda not try everything in her power to help him with that?

Pietro had said it himself, her Chaos Magic could turn the impossible into reality, that she had the power to conjure miracles. And that was exactly what she had attempted to do.

Wanda hadn't just placed her enchantments on the body, but also on SILVER's mind. She had directed her magic to make her complete – to bring her to life – and it had left her utterly drained.

She didn't recall if she had succeeded, before she had collapsed and fainted from exhaustion, but Wanda knew it was time to find out.

Slowly rising from the bed, she thanked her superhuman constitution and reflexes, that let her walk straight even with her migraine.

Walking to the bedroom door, Wanda opened it and took a step into their living space.

The next second she froze in her tracks, as childish laughter echoed through the room.

The sight before her near magical in its beauty, as Pietro sat on the couch with a small girl in his lap playing a game of Red Hands. Everytime he missed the little girl's hands, an innocent giggle erupted from her petite figure.

The small girl had chestnut-coloured hair and crystal eyes, which Wanda could see shining in joy even from her position. Wearing nothing more than an over-sized white hoodie of hers with rolled-up sleeves, she looked exactly like a child of Pietro and hers would look like.

Wanda's heart skipped a beat and she even forgot to breath for a moment.

This was what she dreamt off every waking moment – a family.

Pietro and her had talked about children, but he was worried about her safety and ability to protect herself while pregnant. Especially with all the things that were happening on Earth right now. And Wanda agreed that it might not be the best time to start a family yet.

But still, that was what she wanted. Pietro had his own dreams of power and adventure, but Wanda just wanted a loving family of her own. Like she had had as a child, before that bomb took it from her.

And to be honest, Wanda had struggled to feel some 'real' affection and love for SILVER.

It wasn't easy to love the voice of an entirely virtual being, almost impossible even. She had struggled to find some way to connect with SILVER, especially after she had stared to call her mother, but emotions didn't work like that, they couldn't be forced.

This girl however... It was different.

Wanda felt it, an instinctual connection forged through her very own magic. She simply knew that this was her daugther, a miracle created by Pietro's scientific knowledge and her own Chaos Magic.

Wanda knew that she wouldn't just be able love her little miracle – she already did.

"Ah, it seems your mother is awake, Silver.", Pietro intoned, turning his head towards Wanda and giving her a gentle smile.

Hearing her love's words, Wanda hestitated no longer and approached her family, her eyes fixed on the little girl.

Silver's own eyes shone with hope and a tinge of fear. Wanda could feel the inner turmoil of the girl and the fear of rejection Silver felt. She could also feel that fear turn into overwhelming joy, when she embraced the girl and pulled her into her own lap, sitting down right next to Pietro.

And if they both cried tears of joy, well that was just the first thing they had in common as mother and daugther then.

Nearly two weeks had passed since Silver had truly become part of our little family and to be honest she fit in perfectly.

A new bedroom had already been ready for her, mostly because her sleeping in our bed was a bit problematic.

Wanda and I had a very active sex life, with us indulging in each other practically every night. Silver wasn't like a normal child, she knew that we needed time for ourselves and understood this very well.

One would think our lives would change drastically with a child in it and in some ways it did, but also didn't.

Silver didn't need to visit a school, being originally an AI and still capable of connecting to the virtual world, she was more knowledgeable than any human alive.

We also didn't have to entertain her boredom like with a normal child. Instead of just sparring with Wanda, I now did so with Silver too.

And while she looked like a child, Silver was a being with a Vibranium core and an Uru-shell. I wasn't even sure I could cause any harm to her, even if I tried to.

Our spars were incredibly beneficial to both of us. She got to learn how to move her new body efficiently, while I got the perfect sparring partner.

Wanda and Silver were also very much inseperable, with them cooking, going shopping or simply being together all the time. Silver also practically occupied Wanda's lap permanently, or mine for that matter.

I myself had pretty much stopped my academic studies at this point. I had already accomplished everything I had wanted to, with the use of science. Spending the additional time training or learning other languages had become the norm.

I didn't think one could ever know enough languages and being able to learn them in record time was a gift I didn't plan to let go to waste.

Right now, I sat on the floor with my back leaning against the couch, tablet in hand and studying some material on the Korean language.

Silver's small feet were dangling over my shoulders as she fiddled with my long hair. Wanda sat behind Silver and was likewise busy with braiding Silver's hair, while watching an old-sitcom on the television.

"Christmas is in a few days. You have a wish, Silver?", Wanda asked suddenly.

"No, Mother. I have all I want.", Silver replied happily.

"Really? Maybe a new game for your Game Boy or something like that?", I chipped in on their conversation.

We had went to a flea market last weekend together and Silver had found an old Game Boy with two games: Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong. For some reason she was very into it and had even asked me to modify it.

In the end, I rebuilt the entire thing with Vibranium and made it so that she could power it with her own Arc Reactor heart.

Silver had incredible strength, even greater than my own and I didn't want her to destroy the console in a fit of anger when losing, like I had done in my first life.

That Game Boy could probably survive an angry Hulk now.

Some would probably ask why I would waste such precious metal on something like that, but I had already built all that I wanted with it.

The amount I had needed for Silver's body didin't even reach fifty kilos of the metal and even after fabricating several sets of Vibranium clothing for all three of us, there was still more than a hundred kilograms left.

"I haven't finished playing the other two yet, so I don't need a new one.", Silver said, showing an incredible amount of restraint for a seven-year old, whose parents could practically get her whatever she wanted.

"But maybe we could go ice-skating together. I liked that very much last time.", she continued softly.

"Of course we can, my little miracle.", Wanda readily agreed and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek, making Silver giggle happily.

I had no problem with ice-skating, especially not if that was the only wish my adorable daughter had.
