Chapter 88

"How is it, Lord Stark?"

I look at Lord Stark while feeding Dany, Rhae, and Ari some fruit. This will be the last day we are in Winterfell and the day where Lord Stark returns the contract with the answer if he wants to be our ally or not.

It was not a full alliance but rather a Trading Alliance where my merchant did not need to pay tax for three years and only paid a little bit for as long as the alliance was still active. In exchange, we will sell food-related items at a discount. But, of course, there are items that cannot be given at a discount, like rare goods or something.

"I agree. Here is the contract."

Lord Stark places the paper on the table and says.

"The north and Lunaria will have a trade alliance. In exchange for a lower price on food goods, I will give a free pass to any Lunaria merchant coming to the north for three years."

I nod my head and take out a blank piece of paper. Then, with a wave of my hand, an exact copy of the original contract is written on the other paper. Next, I let my wax melt a little before pressing it on the paper.

My sigil appears next to the Stark Sigil on the paper a second later. I give him the copy while I keep the original.

"With this, we are a trading ally."

Both of us shake a hand.

"So, have you thought about my offer?"

"I'm afraid I must reject your offer, King Viserys. My wife and I will be teaching our children for now. Maybe in a year or two I will take your offer."

"Of course. I understand."

I take the glass of wine and give a toast to Lord Stark.

"For our future."

"For our future."

~Sometimes later~

Lord Stark and I are standing in the middle of the training ground.

"Can I ask why you brought us here?"

"Well, I have some gift for you."

With a wave of my hand, a massive portal appeared next to me. This is another breakthrough that I have. With my control over gravity and space, I can create a pocket dimension that can store anything inside.

Well, not anything. I cannot store a living being inside because, for some reason, they will die when they get inside. But, when I get inside, I can breathe and do anything normally. I don't know the reason why the other cannot do that.

I snap my finger, and suddenly a few hundred massive boxes float out of the portal.

"There should be around Ten tons worth of food inside these boxes. I will give it to you for free."

"W-What?"

"Aye. This will be our gift from us. As for the rest of the goods, it was still sitting inside the ship near the Winter Town. Those goods will be the ones we sell. This one is for free."

Lord Stark looked at me for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and nodding.

"Thank you for your gift, King Viserys. I will make sure to use this gift carefully."

"Good. Anyway…"

I look at Jon and say.

"You should give your goodbye to your family. We will depart in an hour."

Jon nods his head and walks toward his uncle.

~Three days later~

"Take a deep breath and feel the energy inside of you. You are almost there."

I look at Jon, who is meditating on the deck with his familiar lying on the ground next to him. To fill our free time on the ship, I decide to teach Jon how to awaken his magic. Finally, after three days of constant meditation and concentration, I can feel his magic start to come out of him.

After a few minutes of silence, I can feel the mana inside his body start to spread. I can also see Jon's Direwolf, Ghost, also feel his awakening. A few seconds later, mana starts to come out from his body, creating semi-transparent energy around his body.

Sadly, it only lasts for a few seconds before it disappears. His reserve is small. It is like Rhea's reserve when she first awakened her magic.

"T-That is really tiring."

"Aye. That is what is happening. Awakening your mana is tiring for the first-timer. Most of your mana will be released to the air and leave you in Mana Exhaustion state."

"Mana Exhaustion state?"

"It was the state where your magic tries to get more mana from changing your life force into mana. Before you say something, sucking your life force will not kill you. Life force can replenish by eating more food and having a good sleep. Think of it as your stamina instead of a real Life Force."

"I see."

"Yes. However, I don't think it was not dangerous. Mana Exhaustion state can suck a lot of your Life Force at once and if you are in a critical state, you can die. What I mean to say is that when you feel your mana is depleted, take some rest. If you keep casting magic, you will die."

"I see."

I nod my head and take out a small vial from my pocket dimension. Urgh. I think I should call my Pocket Dimension Inventory instead, just like in the game.

"Here. Drink this. This potion will help you regenerate your mana."

Jon nods his head and starts to drink the potion. This potion is not a mana potion like in the game, but it does increase your mana regeneration by two hundred percent. This potion will react to your mana core and let it absorb the mana in the air at a faster pace. It also increases your body's efficiency in filtering the mana in the air and changing it to refined mana.

"Now, take a deep breath, hold your breath and feel the mana in the air. Let it flow around your body for a few seconds before releasing your breath."

"Hoooo."

"Good. Now do that again three more times."

After he is done replenishing his mana reserve, he opens his eyes and says.

"What's next?"

"Eager to learn, huh? Very well. Get up. We will practice your first cantrip."
