Voice of the Heart

-(Part 2-2)

Standing firm as my eyes were locked onto the boys mothers. Her composure was strong as I could see her hand trembling while bearing with the pain on her cheek. It was clear that she never resorted to physical violence, however, her dead gaze spoke louder than any soilder put in the front lines of a war would. Eyes as cold and wicked as if looking into thin air looked back at me as I felt the intense pressure of her anger with only her glare.

Time soon passed as each second felt like an eternity apart from the boy. More so, my hatred with the fact I had yet to hear his name filled me with an even greater pain. Not moving a muscle as we both waited for the other to make a move, we stood in place as she was clearly just buying time for her son to be escorted off the property.

Lowering my gaze, I stood straight and composed mysled once more without fighting back.

"It was a mistake to strike you, Madam... I apologize for directing my anger towards the mother of the young Master... Please, forgive my outburst. If you'll allow it, I will leave the mansion, immediately. "

Stunned, she lowered her gaze as well as her posture as if she was holding out on using a different method the next time I had struck her again.

"I see... You're a maid. Of course, you would want my sons affection like any other."

Holding my arms close as I swallowed my pride and bowed my head as I apologized for my mistake. all the while, I was intently restraining myself from beating this woman half to death. Knowing full well what will happen should I make a wrong choice, I decided to play the only card I had left and apologize.

"Please.. Forgive my inconsiderate behavior, Madam... If you would fire me, I would hold no objections. "

Laughing lightly, she closed her eyes as my gamble paid off. Her behavior then suddenly changed as if she was an entirely diffrent person from before. Her wicked smile on her face felt as if she found something amusing.

"Not to worry... It was a moment of weakness on my part. My son obviously has a thing for younh maids and it would be a shame to let such... A delicate little flower like you slip through my hands when you clearly show promise. "

Closing my eyes as I knew she had a more devious plan in mind, regardless, she now held more power over both me and the boy. Had I knocked her down with that slap, I could have walked straight to the boy had it not been for the other maids present. My only choice is to obidiently stay still while suppressing my anger towards her.

"Now... Why don't you get properly dressed and meet me for some tea, hmm?! "

Turning around as I accepted while holding the rage in my heart steady, she smiled and walked off as I was left with the maids.

"Are you okay, Miss? "

Looking up and scaring the young maid, I softened my gaze as I stopped to look at her freight.

"S-sorry... I may had gotten carried away in the moment... Where did they take the young Master? "

Turning her gaze as they all must have been ordered to keep that information from me. Exhausting a breath as I did not want to stress them out any further, I began getting changed in order to meet the woman for some tea as I wanted to know what she was planning.

~

Stopping as the young maid opened the door, I took in a deep breath and entered with all I had to keep from showing any weakness. Stoppinh as I opened my eyes and found the boy sitting beside his mother assuming he sipped her tea.

My composure began to harden as I found it more nessiccary to palu along than ruin any chance of ever being able to be with the boy. Stealingy heart and struggling to suppress my feelings, I tiltead my head and calmly walked to take a seat across from them both.

Keeping my eyes closed as the sight of him made it difficult to focus on anything.

"My, my... Here I was graciously giving you this opportunity to see my son and yet, despite my efforts, you hide your gaze... Come now, shouldn't a lady meet the gaze of her man she loves when introducing herself to his mother? "

Clenching my hands onto my kimono as I sharply pointed her words, back at her.

"Its as you said, however, I see no lady sitting here that's worthy of such praise while infornt of the young Master... "

Exhaling from her nose as her clear dislike for me had long since been established, I continued until I suddenly heard the boy let out a scream in pain. Without a wasting a single moment, I opened my eyes and tended to him as his mothers cup fell over to his lap, burning his hand.

As I held my hands over his red arm, I began trembling and whispered softly into his ear.

"Stop... Me... Hold me... Please, before I hurt your mother... "

His gasp turned to resolve as he pulled me around and spoke while I was calming myself down.

"Mother... What is this all about? I find your presence here, surprising. "

"Oh... Has she this much influence on you to talk back to your mother... Ugh, you'll will be blind when she stabs you in the back... Of course... Its only to be expected of the son, oh, apologies, daughter of a serial con man who made his living, selling out his fellow man. Oh, how tragic... Have I said too, much? "

Turning sharply as the boy caught me and kept me from getting my hands on the wicked woman that called herself his mother, I reminded still as my anger for her clouded my judgment.

"Look at this pathetic sight, Filo... Is that the kind of woman you wish to spend your life with? "

Shifting as his embrace kept me from hurting him as he held me in place. Telling me all the while to ignore her, I stood trembling as I had reached my limit.

"Yes... "

Stopping as my gaze hung low onto his shoulder, he continued.

"You asked me once when was I going to get married when I turned sixteen... I've made my decision... "

Standing up rather abruptly as his mother knocked down the tea pot from the table, she stared in pain as he continued rebelling against her.

"This is the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with... Mother. I know how insensitive and insecure about setting me up with blind dares against my say and then forcing me to watch as you break their will, I won't let you try that with her... Not her, mother... Please. Just let her be-"

Slapping him as I felt his as wrapped tightly around mine to keep me from moving, I only heard his voice repeat the same thong as his own mother struck him over and over again with her hands.

"I love her... I love her... I will... give my life to he, because I love her... "

Gasping for air, his mother turned to grab the pot and proceeded with striking me over the head. Stepping in and holding me in his chest, he took the full brunt of the strike. Shaken by what just happend, he softly whispered into my ear as he fell forward onto the ground.

Sitting as one of the maids rushed in, crying for her Master as she collapsed over to tend go him. All the while, the handle for the pot fell onto the floor as his mother fell stumblinh backwarda onto the ground. Turning my gaze from Filo, I gazed ontot he rooms and stooped as I while my cheek to find his blood smeared on my finger tips.

The sudden shock of losing sight of him began to dawn in my chest as I began hyperventilating while the cold words I spoke to warn him about my curse flashed in my mind. His fading smille from my head caused me to let break down. Losing sight of my hands, the room began to spin and as I caught myself and went over to him as his motionless face overwhelmed my heart.

Lifting his hand as I touched his cheek, I kissed him one last time as his blood soaked my dress. I pushed my emotions back into a corner inside me as I returned to the desolate, little girl who lost everything wherever she went. Dropping his hand gently over his chest, I began to stand and wander until I would no longer walk over anykne else's lives anymore.

As I stood up and turned away, a flash of bright light reached into my heart and pulled out my feelings as I was familiar with this warmth. Collapsing as I brkek down and cried in that moment, I lifted my motionless gaze into the air as he held my hand to keep me from leaving. His words lifted the weight from my chest as I gasped a breath of relief.

"Don't go... Turning me into a ghost... miss ghost... I'll always... remain a spirit... He-heh... Wouldnt that make us... A couple. "

Bitting down on my teeth as I was sure he was in an immense amount of pain, I waited as the maids rushed in to treat and call for an ambulance as they rushed the boy to a hospital. After he was lifted by helicopter from the estate, I was left alone as his mother ran off somewhere most likely out of guilt.

Meaningless as it was to question his resolve in his love for me, I simply old as I felt my still beating heart yearn for his tender touch.

Humming the night away beside the pond, I closed my eyes and drifted asleep as if I fleet his warmth sitting right beside me...

I gasped a slight breath in the warm breeze as I acknowledged the fact that I always wanted a home to return to. Though, whenever I thought about my future, I smiled when I envisioned more nights like the start of tonight with him beside me as we would freely express our affection for one another.

Closing my mind to the events that occurred, I relaxed as my chest was the lightest its ever been in my life. What I felt made me almost boundless as I tilted my head onto the toughness of the rock.

~

As time passed me by, I sat inhaling and exhaling genlty as I wanted to take in the fact that I was finally going to give Filo the warmth he had expressed time and time again. When suddenly, I heard a voice as dark and cold, causing me to freeze in place instantly.

"My Lady... Agh... So, it is you... "

I hesitantly turned my gaze onto the darkened shadow as he stepped forward from the shadows to show himself.

"This is where you've been residing, My Lady. "

Trembling as his voice was just as ominous as his appearance as it sent shivers down my spine. Feeling my heart race not of live, but out of fear a his face was one I was greatful to have forgotten from my past life... And he had finally caught up to me.

"Its been too long, big sis. "
