2 1-Our Protagonist

This story takes place several years before the events of the previous chapter. Our Main character is a 12 year old boy named Andreas Kevlar, he is a short, Caucasian boy with mid length chocolate brown hair covering his left eye. Hes quite skinny and appears almost sickly. The poor child was born with a mutation which causes his blood to multiply at an inhuman rate, causing him to constantly have to cut himself to release the excess levels of blood. If he were to allow his blood to accumulate for too long it could crush his organs, or burst forth on its own, rupturing his veins and arteries, or worse, his heart.

Our story starts on May 19th, of the year 2XXX in a small town called Green, somewhere along the coast.

"Andreas!" came a feminine call from outside a small room, a simple room with white walls, a window, and a great view of a body of water of unknown size.

The young boy was laying on a desk, several bottles about the size of the boy sat scattered across the room. Each filled with a red liquid, presumably blood, and a tube connected to the boys left arm, leading to a nearly filled bottle sitting next to the boy.

"I'll be down in a second!" he shouted, in an almost annoyed tone.

He continued to lay there for another minute before standing up and stretching. He tapped the almost full bottle a few times before unhooking the tube, spilling some blood onto his clothes. He grabbed a fresh bottle out of his closet, this one on a cart, before stabbing himself with a fresh hose and wheeling it to his bedroom door. He let out a sigh and opened the door.

A beautiful woman with jet black hair, a simple green shirt, and blue jeans stood outside the door. She looked tired as if she had just finished a long and hard shift at work.

"Sorry mom...had to get a new bottle..." The boy stated as if it wasn't obvious.

The woman gave a slight, forced smile, "I understand sweetie, but we have to hurry if you wanna see you father before he leaves for his business trip."

Andreas sighed. He rarely ever got to see his dad and he was used to it. His dad was always going on trips for work to help pay for his only childs medical bills and the supplies that kept him alive.

"What's the point in even going?" The boy remarked, "He just got back and he's already leavi-"

A loud slap interrupted the child as he was smacked, leaving a bright red hand mark on his face.

"He's working his ass off trying to keep you alive!" The woman shouted, "The least you can do is to show up and thank him before he leaves!"

The boy looked down and simply stated, "Then lets go." under his breath.

His mother stormed off and within a few minutes they were in a car headed to the airport. The ride took only a few minutes, but neither of them said a word. They just sat in silence. The boy kept his focus on the scenery of the outside. A few trees, buildings, and mostly grass covered his view of the passenger side of the car, a small green car.

After arriving, the 2, while remaining silent, hurried into the lobby. They both glanced around before the mother spotted a tall man, he appeared like a much older version of Andreas, the same Chocolate colored hair, streaks of gray were visible though. He had bags under his eyes. His suit was a mess and he appeared to be waiting impatiently on someone.

The mother began to drag the child towards the older man.

The man, still not noticing them checked his watch and muttered something to himself.

The child still silent, was moving as fast as he could while dragging the now almost half full carted bottle.

The mother said in a fairly loud, but not a yell, "Honey! Over here!"

The Man glanced over and a look of relief washed over him. He started running towards them before he gave the woman a hug. It was a quick hug, but afterwards he gave the child a hug. It was a much longer hug.

The man apologized, "Sorry bud but my flights about to leave, ill see you in a month!"

The man then took off without giving the mother child duo a chance to say anything.

The 2 just watched as he left and when he was finally out of sight the mother looked at the boy.

A look of shock covered her face as she noticed how full the bottle had gotten. "Why didn't you say anything?!?" She exclaimed as she grabbed his wrist and began to drag him as fast as she could back towards the car.

Moments before they were to reach the car, a bald man in a clean, black suit stopped them and said, "Sorry to stop you when you appear to be in a hurry."

The man then stepped in front of the car, blocking them, "But I believe I have the right person," he said as he glanced at the bottle of blood, "I work for a...erm company that may have a way to 'help' your childs condition."
