47 Chapter 47.

Purple, thousand-year soul ring!

Black, ten thousand-year soul ring!

As Wang Feng's feet bore these two soul rings, the surroundings fell into an complete silence.

The remaining few onlookers wore a mix of expressions ranging from shock to incomprehension.

First off, there was the elderly man who had just taken a sip of water, only to spray it out like a fine mist upon seeing Wang Feng's soul ring. His old eyes widened in disbelief. Wang Feng looked like some kind of monster with those two soul ring rotating slowly around him.

Meanwhile, Zhu Zhuqing and the others, who had been observing from the sidelines, were equally taken aback.

Tang San and Xiao Wu, stationed at the village entrance, also gawked at the spectacle from afar. Their eyes nearly popped out of their heads.

Ning Rongrong, was in her own state of shock, barely managed to utter a word. As a member of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda Sect, she had never laid eyes on a soul ring, one with a thousand or ten thousand years of age as their first and second soul ring. The radiance from these soul lights was simply overpowering.

"Ten thousand years old soul ring?" Dai Mubai's mind short-circuited.

"Hold on, he has only two soul rings, the first one's a thousand years and the second one's a ten thousand year one? How is that even possible?"

This short-circuit was happening because it defied all he knew. Dai Mubai had never witnessed a thousand-year soul ring and rarely even a five-hundred-year one as someone first soul ring. A second soul ring with ten thousand years was beyond comprehension.

"A ten thousand-year soul ring typically belongs to the fifth ring or higher, right? How did he even absorb it?" Dai Mubai stared at Wang Feng with profound astonishment.

As a Shrek Academy student, Dai Mubai understood that the absorption of soul rings depended on physical fitness and martial soul compatibility. Yet, there were limits to how many year old rings one could absorb unless their body exceeded these limit sby far. The punch Wang Feng had thrown yesterday provided a hint to his physical prowess.

"Brother Feng's second soul ring is ten thousand years old," Tang San whispered.

Xiao Wu nodded.

The first soul ring, they knew about. Plus, given that it was a six-thousand-year old soul ring, their teacher had warned about the toll it would take on Wang Feng's body. However, Wang Feng seemed not only unharmed but stronger than ever. Now, a ten-thousand-year old second soul ring – it was almost unbelievable.

Wang Feng looked at the old man with a smirk, "I told you not to drink water."

The old man, after carefully observing Wang Feng for a while, wiped his face, shook his head and sighed, "Looks like monsters are getting more common day by day. You passed, Mubai, take him in."

Wang Feng continued towards the door, pausing briefly as he passed Ning Rongrong without a word.

Dai Mubai took a step back, coughing awkwardly. "Alright, folks, let's move on. There are more tests ahead."

The punch had clearly left a lasting impression on Dai Mubai, especially now that they knew about Wang Feng's two soul rings.

Tang San, Xiao Wu and Dai Mubai were all curious about the soul rings but it wasn't the right time for questions.

"So, your name is Wang Feng?" Ning Rongrong turned her gaze towards Wang Feng, her tone soft and friendly. Her gentle smile radiated warmth.

Tang San and Dai Mubai found her smile comforting and even Xiao Wu felt a inexplicable sense of closeness as if she had found a kindred soul in her.

However, Wang Feng sensed something more beneath the surface.

"Hello, I'm Wang Feng," he replied with a serious demeanor, as if he saw through her facade.

Ning Rongrong's expression froze momentarily, her hands clenched slightly. She turned away and whispered, "I'll go in first, then."

"Then I'll guide you all inside. The village isn't too complex and you'll see the place and the teacher for the second test as soon as you enter the gate," Dai Mubai said.

However, Dai Mubai hesitated, "I might have to head back soon. I think I saw someone I know outside."

"Someone you know?" Xiao Wu cast a wary glance at Dai Mubai. "I recall there being a very attractive girl around..."

Dai Mubai furrowed his brows and clarified, "I didn't mean anything bad by it. I'm not that type of person. It's just that this person's aura is oddly familiar to me and there's a synergy with my martial soul. Such compatibility is incredibly rare. You see, if we can cultivate a deep understanding and combine our strengths, we could potentially unleash some exceptionally potent martial soul fusion techniques."

The term "Soul Fusion Skill" piqued Tang San and Xiao Wu's interest. They had heard of it before.

Wang Feng's thoughts sparked. He realized that Tang San and Xiao Wu's martial abilities indeed complemented each other well. A rabbit and a grass— the rabbit eats the grass. But if there were a martial soul resembling a carrot, wouldn't it be an even better match?

Dai Mubai led the trio through the village entrance, gesturing toward a gathering of people up ahead. "That's where you need to go! Alright, I won't keep you any longer. I'll head back out."

With that, Dai Mubai briskly returned to the entrance.

"It's quite simple here," Xiao Wu observed as she looked around.

Just then, a voice echoed from up ahead, drawing their attention. "Selling sausages, selling sausages! Big, delicious sausages, both tasty and nutritious! Don't miss out, folks! Oscar's sausages are sweet and scrumptious, yours for only five copper coins..."

Wang Feng gazed toward the source of the voice and spotted a man in a gray coat, with short hair and a beard, pushing a cart. The scene brought back memories of the small vendors from his past life, especially the ones selling fried snacks at the school entrance during his elementary school days. The most unforgettable item was the spicy potato. These vendors' carts seemed to persist throughout Wang Feng's life, from junior high school to high school and even into his university years. Their tenacity was truly remarkable.

"Is this Oscar?" Wang Feng wondered as he observed the cart and the bearded vendor from a distance.

"Xiao San, I want some!" Xiao Wu's eyes lit up and she eagerly licked her lips. "Quickly get in line and buy it for me."

Tang San agreed, saying, "It does look quite delicious."

Wang Feng smiled and strolled over with Tang San. However, just as they approached, a figure stepped out from the front of the queue and made her way to Oscar's cart. She purchased three sausages and then walked toward Wang Feng.

"I'm treating you," the figure turned out to be Ning Rongrong.

She chuckled and held out the three sausages, though she kept them at a bit of a distance.

"Would you care to join us?" Tang San was taken aback and thought, 'This girl is rather kind. It's our first meeting and she's inviting us to eat.'

Ning Rongrong waved it off casually. She then turned her gaze toward Wang Feng, a hint of a smile in her eyes. "By the way, I owe your friend a debt of gratitude, which he might not have mentioned yesterday. While I was on the street, I accidentally dropped a few hundred Golden Soul Coins and he helped me retrieve them. I'm very grateful!"

"But he didn't tell me his name and I only found out just now," she added, her tone taking on a slightly peculiar edge, as if through clenched teeth.

"Brother Feng, how about it?" Tang San asked Wang Feng.

Wang Feng glanced at Ning Rongrong, suspecting that she might have already heard about the peculiarities of Oscar's sausages. Otherwise, why would she buy only three and not one more for herself? After all, some of the examinees in the second test might have bought Oscar's sausages as well.

"Yes." Wang Feng agreed when asked if he wanted to eat.

"Then we'll join you." Tang San said with a smile, taking the three grilled sausages from Ning Rongrong and handing them to Wang Feng.

Wang Feng examined the grilled sausages. They resembled hot dogs from his previous life, sliced open for taste and they looked delicious. However, Wang Feng knew that these sausages were created using spirit power. Honestly, he didn't mind Oscar's unusual abilities. Food was food.

Just as Wang Feng was about to take a bite, a hint of mischief crossed Ning Rongrong's eyes. She thought, "Hehe, after you eat this, you'll be repulsed when you find out where these sausages come from, right? Hehe..."

Ning Rongrong had recently learned about the sausages secret from a few examinees who had tried them. She felt a bit queasy herself but decided to go along with it for now.

However, just as Wang Feng was about to dig in, Dai Mubai rushed over and shouted from a distance, "Wait! Don't eat that!"

He hurriedly reached their side and scolded Oscar, "Xiao Ao, how many times have I told you not to sell those sausages at school? Don't you know it's a recipe for disaster?"

Oscar, appearing somewhat embarrassed, walked over from a short distance away.

"Is this uncle also a student at the college?" Tang San found it somewhat strange.

Was this bearded man also a student?

"Uncle... This year, Xiao Ao is just fourteen year old and is only two years olde than you." Dai Mubai explained, shaking his head. "It's just that his martial soul is a rare food-type spirit and it has a little affect on his appearance."

"So, what's wrong with the sausages? Why can't we eat them?" Tang San inquired curiously.

Ning Rongrong knew her plan was ruined. If Dai Mubai had arrived a bit later, Wang Feng would have already taken a bite...

"You absolutely can't eat them!" Dai Mubai affirmed, glancing at Ning Rongrong. "Xiao Ao, make a fresh sausage for them."

"But….Boss Dai, isn't it inappropriate? Other prospective students will see...and no one will buy sausages from me anymore." Oscar appeared uneasy, especially with a pretty young girl in a white dress in the vicinity. He was worried about the repercussions of her witnessing it.

"I don't care. These three will likely be students here in the future, so there's no need to hide it as they will eventually find it out." Dai Mubai declared, raising his fist. "Unless you want me to handle it myself."

Oscar reluctantly relented, uttering while doing a suggestive wink, "Your father, I, ... have a large sausage."

With those words, Oscar extended his hands and two yellow soul rings appeared beneath his feet. He concentrated his soul power into his palm as the sausage-shaped martial soul gradually transformed and changed into a real sausage.

Tang San and Ning Rongrong were left bewildered by this bizarre and ambiguous display. Ning Rongrong felt her stomach churn even more as she realized she was holding onto one of those sausages. Tang San, too, seemed somewhat flustered and quickly passed the sausage back to Ning Rongrong, saying, "You can keep this."

Even the reserved looking girl behind Dai Mubai shook her head in disbelief.

Wang Feng found the situation rather entertaining and observed with amusement.
